lol I don't think people are getting it. Oakland went 12-4 with a pretty bad D, worse than Buffalo. They also played in a much TOUGHER division as far as D go. (KC, Denver) The Raiders with the 26 TH RANKED D were one win away from having a first round bye!!! (That they would have gotten with Carr IMO) So while D will win championships, it is not needed to make the playoffs or even be a top seed. The ONLY stat that Oakland was lightyears better than Buffalo was one. PASSING O. I stand by the assessment an improvement to 20th (just 10 spots higher) would make a HUGE difference in wins and losses. Also I am not bashing TT, another stat I have seen here (but can't find) is that Buffalo called for fewer passing plays than any other team. So an easy fix for the passing O is to call more passing Plays??
-
Yes and what was the big difference? That's right them sweeping the Bills and Ajayi running for almost 500 yards in 2 games. BUT Tannahill and Moore also hit key Passing plays to beat the bills. Something the Bills were unable to do. Also Miami sucked the first 5 games. Since week 6 they are 9-2 and averaging 25 points a game and giving up 24 points a game. The only reason those numbers are close is because the two losses were blowout losses of 38 and 21 points.
-
Miami had the weakest schedule in the NFL is how they won 10 games. (Funny thing is if the Bills could have stopped Ajayi even a little bit the Bills would have had 10 wins and would be facing Pitt this Sunday. That's how close the Bills got. 2 losses by less than 10 points combined..) Also look at the stats Oaklands D was WORSE in every one but Rishing D.. that includes scoring D.
-
My point was if the bills wanted a CHANCE catch the lightning in a bottle they need improve just 10 spots on passing O to have that chance. Let's face it this year a middle of the road passing game makes the Bills a playoff team.
-
This kind of shocked me these are the stats for Oakland &a Bills D: overall oak 26th Bills 19th scoring D oak 20th Bills 16th Passing D Oak 24th Bills 6th Running D Oak 23rd Bills 29th Offense: Overall: Oakland 6th. Bills: 16th Scoring: Oakland 7th. Bills: 10th Passing: Oakland 13th Bills: 30th Rushing: Oakland 6th Bills: 1st Now this showed me a few startling things. One is you don't need a dominant D to win in the AFC as the Raiders were one win away from having a first round bye. Second you do need to be above average in all areas in at least one side of the ball. Look at Oakland they are just a little above average in passing but have a dominant run game. If (IMO) the Bills want to be a playoff team they MUST improve their passing ranking to average (16th-20th) and they will be a playoff team. I mean that is the ONLY stat that Oakland is significantly ahead of the Bills. (Besides overall O but up the passer rating that goes up to.)

Ya because the Pats had FRANCHISE QBs since 1986. Tony Eason, Hugh Millen (I just got ill), Grogan, Zo, then Bledsoe and Brady... ya a list of CHAMPIONS there!! 🙄 And sorry I loved Flutie he is part of what drew me into watching football when he played at BC. So I may be a little protective of his rep.

Do the Bills realize it is 2016, not 1976?

^^^ This states it perfectly! -

Ok I agree a SB contender needs a QB who can throw the football, but that was not the Bills biggest issue on this years team. I mean Watkins and McCoy both said discipline on the team was (to paraphrase) Awful! That showed as the Bills for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW were among the top 10 in most penalties. The Bills are not good enough to overcome badly timed penalties. that is also something a new coach could correct rather quickly while building the D back up, the Bills need to stop beating themselves. -
YOUR Playoff Predictions for wildcard week:

What makes you think the Giants will upset the Packers? (I predicted the Lions victory because The Hawks O is irratic at best this year and the Lions seen win those close games late.) -
AFC: Steelers v Phins -- I see an absolute blowout. The Phins D is banged up big time Steelers 45. phins 17 Raiders v Texans -- IMO another non competitive game. The last time when both teams faced eachother it was a high scoring affair with Carr winning late. This time I see the Texans D clamping down and winning this one. Texans 24 Raiders 10 (Texans W 14 points from turnovers) Lions @ Seatle I am calling the upset here as I see the Lions winning a nail biter with a last second FG to win. Lions 24 Hawks 21 Giants @ Packers Aaron Rogers is laying at an Elite level and the Giants O can't run for crap. Packers 38 Giants 7 So division matchups for ME: Texans @ Pats Steelers @ KC Lions @ Cowboys Packers @ Falcons So what's is everyone else's thoughts?

Connor Cook vs. Brock Osweiler
PatsFanNH replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cook may be the better QB, but the Texans D >>>>> Raiders D and it isn't even close. I mean the Texans should have won the last time they met and they had Carr then. -
Sorry, but I'm still going to miss Hogan

He also forgets the GM for the Falcons is also from BB tree. -
Michael Floyd sends Fins DB into tommorow

Which also makes him a potential NE resign as he will be cheap and a one year prove it deal. -

Lol on blaming him for the disaster O in St Luis. Funny thing is Salad was probably the best WR they had when he was there lol. The talent level there sucked! And it's obvious the Rams don't feel the same way as you and a lot of other bills fans do as they are interviewing him. As for Denver he was young and not ready yet.. Brady says McDaniels is the best OC he has ever had. (That includes O'Brien and Weis) -

Nope Big Ben is still playing QB for the Steelers as is KC Smith. -

I was more jazzed up by that hit than when he carried like 4 Dolphins into the endzone for the TD. That hit showed me that he was engaged in the game big time! -

I think it is hard to judge Hogan with NE and compare it to what he may have done In Buffalo, for a few reasons: 1. Pats have a lot more talent in the WR/TE and RB (catching the ball) than the bills so he is going see fewer targets because of it. 2. Brady is as many pointed out one of the GOAT and will make people look better. 3. IMO a damn amazing O Coordinator scheming plays that work best against an opponent. -

He didn't say not to look at the TDs but rather look at them as well as his other harder catches. -

You know how many players DROP those passes. Ugh to many. Hogan has been a great find, and I would not be shocked if Floyd replaced Amondola next year. -

Roflmgdao oh that was funny! He is in no danger of being benched! Especially for Floyd, if Floyd eats into anyone time it would be the rookie Mitchell who suffered a knee injury. Tate would be a Pro Bowler in NE. -
He is a very good D line coach. I am wondering why he has not been promoted to DC by someone yet. He missed out here because of Patricia.
