  1. Sink or swim time for me. If he sucks... let him suck these last 4 games to make the decision easier.
  2. We restructured clay - there isn't a "figure out a way" to do that. His dead cap would be 13.5 mil, and its 9 million to keep him. If woods probably gets 6 per, britts going to get something like 8.
  3. 44 million in 2 years... how much do you need to lock up your financial future?
  4. He did pick up a pretty big PI penalty as well
  5. For me it wasn't about giving him a raise because we feel we have to, but it was about extending him at a modestly cheap contract before he either crashes and burns (which the out was put in for), or before he leads the team to the playoffs. You have to give him some money in year 1 or whats the incentive to sign?
  6. Yeah - not until 2019 does it become palatable.
  7. Well... we are the only team in the league using the turf we use. I've played on it - its strange and spongey. http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/10/01/nfl-stadium-turf-grass-rankings
  8. Yeah - that transition tag in general is pretty strange. You know anyone signing him is going to make it hard for you to match.
  9. All things considered, we can avoid most of the cap charges by avoiding the option bonus. The goal was to have control beyond this year, and not feel inclined to use a franchise tag. In order to get him to sign on the dotted line - we had to throw some dollars his way this year. The dead cap is only 2.8 mil if we release him before the 3rd league day.
  10. Agreed - would def be good for a solid comp pick. Him + woods + gilmore may be a couple 3s or 4s. And considering we don't have a ton of space to sign impact free agents, I'd think we'd want to get all 3 of those picks. Assuming we bottom out next year with still having no QB, limited receivers, and holes on defense, itll be nice to go into the 2018 draft with hopefully a couple of extra picks in those mid rounds. You can trade them now too, so its like having a bit of extra ammo.
  11. To be fair - the last time New Orleans made the playoffs, rob ryan was the DC. The D was ranked 4th in points and yards.
  12. We're at best a wildcard team as long as brady is starting. I say spin the wheels for a couple years.... I wouldn't bottom out yet because you could be on the bottom for like 5 or 6 years. We're more than 1 player away from being a division contender.
  13. Not quite a blake bortles windup - but it seems to take a while to get the ball out. I feel like they're bumping receivers to throw off his timing too.
  14. Not sure what it is - but he hasn't been generating much pressure. I assume if they are cutting back his snaps, then he's either making mistakes/missing assignments, or dealing with an injury or something.
  15. I think its far too late. We could've traded for him after the first 2 or 3 years, and failed to pony up the 3rd or so that they watned. He's either franchised or locked up.... either way - not our problem.
  16. So... pretty good. All things considered for them as a whole though. They dumped maxwell, murray, and bradfords contracts. Moved up to get Wentz. Got the extra pick back from the bradford deal. They're set up nicely moving forward if Wentz develops. So far - he looks fairly mediocre.
  17. Our AFC record cleans itself a bit if we win out. Our last 4 are all AFC games. Everyone else loses some AFC games as well so it evens out.
  18. I don't either - but i could see why people might. The Steelers have 3 road wins this year. 2 were against cleveland and the luck-less colts. The other was week 1. The 3 losses on the road - a smacking by philly 34-3, 200+ by ajayi and the dolphins, and a 21-14 loss to Baltimore. At one point this year they lost 4 straight. In 4 of their 5 losses - they scored 16 or fewer points. Also - the weather report for OP looks cold, with chance of snow/sleet/rain. This can affect precision on passing. Again - i don't think we will win, but we certainly could win.
  19. Chan's probably going to get fired this year too - even if they keep Bowles.
  20. If either team were in our division, I believe they would have had similar success. It's very difficult to make the playoffs when the pats win the division every year.
  21. Nothing worked on defense. I'd have played more man tbh... no finger pointing when ur man just beats you
  22. Can someone bench gailey while they're at it?
  23. Every time i watched him play he didn't look very good.
