  1. Move around the draft, push picks back, use them to trade for vets. No way I'd trade watson. Fix the relationship.
  2. The run game just seems to be occaisional big plays. They arent consistently pushed back, it seems to be lots of big pops.
  3. Baker is a bit like tannehill/goff - when he's working that offense is a machine. When they get behind the sticks, or he gets a lot of pressure - things tend to go downhill quickly. I think he's better and has potential to be much better than both. Lamar won an MVP. He's shown to be a dynamic runner, and is the main component of a top 10 scoring offense. He's averaged 3000 yards 31 TDs and like 7 int's over the 2 years starting, also averaged another 1100 and 7 TDs on the ground. He'll get paid. If you're first everyone will say you overpaid - but then the other 2 get paid and it kinda balances out.
  4. I think you just build the O around oline, TEs, and lamar. Keep him surrounded with young running backs, and speed WRs.
  5. But trading him, glenn, 1st rounder for the next cutler? gross.
  6. My buddy always mentions that i was legit his only friend who wanted allen. And the reasoning was that there was the potential there to be a star, and i didn't see that with rosen. Felt like his ceiling was cutler. Why are you making all these moves (trading glenn, tyrod etc) to try and get the next cutler?
  7. Good read. Also nice to see buffalo snagged one of them!
  8. If you thought you might go on 4th, you gotta run your brissett package on 3rd down. Or pass on 3rd. You can't lose yards there.
  9. Up 24-10 they ran the ball for like 50 yards on 2 plays in that like 5 play drive. the next drive they had another huge hines run. We got away from what we were doing and expected them to attack down the field.
  10. I don't think they'd overlook. Maybe there's a let down after last week, but i don't think you get overlooked at 13-3 with like 9 straight wins.
  11. Yep - and the playcalling HC might not listen to the coordinator saying - maybe we don't run a weird outside run at the goalline here, just do the brisset play we've been doing all year. I think it works both ways, daboll sends in a call and McD can probably say - i think we sneak it in etc. We got into soft zone and prevent, and they just ran it.
  12. Miscommunication on the TD, 3 big runs totaling like 80 yards across 2 TD drives. Can't happen.
  13. I don't really disagree. Nickel CBs were always traditionally smaller to match up with slot WRs. But as teams start bringing athletic freaks onto the team, and moving them around the formation, its nice to have someone to match up physically.
  14. Defense was brutal in the 4th quarter til the final stop. Gotta maintain that juice for the full 60.
  15. Agreed, he'd groom someone. I think Patricia would likely be a pick for daboll - but i suppose i'm not familiar with their relationship. I don't think buffalo would be a destination for gailey - and hopefully not McCoy, hes terrible. I do think there's a chance its dorsey though. For all the "hes never called plays", he's been a QB coach for like 9 years of his career. Typically the next step up after QB coach is coordinator. Worked 2 years under daboll - and like 6 under shula. I think he may need to go to college to erase some of the stink on his name.
  16. At this stage of their careers? Taron Johnson is probably more effective than Dugger. I think baltimore still runs more 11 than any other formation - so he'll likely get a fair amount of snaps.
  17. jeeze - was getting blown out on an away game not enough? salt in the wound!
  18. They're a year removed from being top 5 as well. The players don't interview though...
  19. A lot of the times its because they keep moving districts imo. Comparing historical data is challenging when the data is covering districts that don't exist in the same way.
  20. Sometimes its coverage mistakes by the linebackers, but you're willing to give up small chunks because at the end of the day your goal is stopping them on 3rd downs and in RZ. One defensive play, or drop, or bad throw (there were all of these in this game against indy) and it stalls a drive. They missed a FG, got stopped on a 4th and punted twice in buffalo territory. Probably a little more bending than they'd like, but they didn't break either.
  21. They tend to run things like palms quarters coverage. If they're over the middle the safeties would move in and the corners bail and play it like quarters, if there are short boundary routes the corners sit on them and the middle of the field is more open.
  22. I mean - reliance upon polling data and trends is always a challenge. Certain polls traditionally are right - but you're still extrapolating a ton of data from a small sample size. The high number of absentee and mail-in ballots in general made this an incredibly hard election to project.
  23. I'd like a big nickel safety too - but the idea there is that you can keep him out there in 11 personnel and feel like you are OK in coverage and OK against the run. Not usually matching up with a TE.
  24. Lots of zone. There are soft spots in zones. In cover 2 its between the safeties, in cover 3 and cover 4 its usually nearer to the hash marks. This is usually where TEs run their routes.
  25. Humiliated is probably the wrong word here. If Bass makes the long FG before half its tied. There was a RZ 4th and 1 where KC scored, a stop there and its a whole new game. Had a 3rd and 1 on the next drive stuffed. 23-17 with 6 minutes left.. 3rd and 12 to pringle for like 37 yards was the killer too. Even if you just flip that play and its incomplete - they punt to allen up 6 with 4 minutes left.
