  1. Here we go, the flood gates have opened for the Mario posts. I will actually provide a serious answer. No Williams was given a ridiculous amount of guaranteed money. For the Bills to cut him in the next 3 years or more would be completely insane financially, and will not happen. We have basically already paid him, nothing to save by cutting him. The only way they could dump him in the short term would be a trade, which would be very difficult and we would still lose big time financially. The guy has played 7 games with an injury, and even with all this hype he has still outproduced the Bills equivalent position on this team last year. Overreaction is the word of the day.
  2. Logistically that seems a bit crazy. I can't imagine England, known for rabid soccer fans, caring about "American" football enough. And what about travel? That's a ridiculous flight for those west coast games and vice versa. Seems like it would be a little unfair.
  3. Normally I don't split hairs over spelling, but when you don't even know the name of the Bills player you are bashing you lose all credibility IMO.
  4. I'd still take this team over the putrid garbage that Jauron put on the field. At least we have still have some explosive players like CJ. It's occasionally exciting to watch the Bills now. I needed a vomit bag close at hand at all times during Jauron's tenure. Although, let's not forget that magical offense that Turk Schonert brought us. Besides, I think 7-9 is probably about where this team ends up. Pretty soft schedule after these next 2 weeks.
  5. ^ This pretty much sums up my feelings on this subject
  6. That's because you don't understand...
  7. Yeah, I don't think it even matters what his cap hit is at this point, with the way his contract was structured, we basically already paid for this guy. He will be here for a while, only a trade could move him within the next few years. Having said that, it's WAY too early to give up on him. I think the negative attention he has had is a little overblown, personally I think more time is needed before we can start judging him a failure. Certainly blame should be spread around evenly on defense, with an extra serving for Wanny... Yup, I agree with everything you said. While I didn't expect a top 10 defense, I certainly didn't expect a defense this bad. I thought we would see more of an up and down type of season with such a young D, and new DC...But man, this is all down, still waiting for the "up"...
  8. I am regularly entertained by the bi-polar mood swings expressed on TBD. Before the season started people were unrealistically expecting this D to be among the best in the NFL, people were jumping for joy that the Bills actually signed a big free agent. Now, after 7 games, the Bills defense is completely talentless, and M. Williams should be cut. It always has to be the extremes...
  9. I was interested in your post until you blamed everything on M. Williams... Let's say it was all his fault, they guy has 60 Million in Guaranteed money, if you are insinuating that they should cut him, that equates to football and financial retardation...
  10. Do you also believe this? http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/wiki/index.php?title=FAQ
  11. It is for me, Vick is awful, always has been except one fluke year. You think Gailey can coach him up better than Andy Reid?
  12. I don't ever remember seeing a more hideous uniform than those...
  13. Exactly right about coaching, unfortunately we can't draft one of them. I'm all for taking a QB in the 1st, if the GM and coaching staff truly believe he can be very good in the NFL. I am NOT for taking a QB just for the sake of taking a QB, and hoping that by luck he will be good. I also don't think it's necessary to be the worst team in the league to get a good QB, you just need a good GM. And I'm certainly not rooting for the team to lose because by some imaginary logic that makes us more likely to land a better QB.
  14. My opinion on this is that Vick was done after college. IMO this dude is still a colossal bust. He was never good with ATL, and frequently injured. Sure it was exciting to watch him run in his younger days, but he was never a good throwing QB. Yes he had ONE good season with Philly. Let's put that into perspective though, he played for Andy Reid, one of the best at coaching QB's to success in the league. Most QB's that have played for Reid have looked far better than they actually are, just look at McNabb. After leaving the Eagles he looked absolutely awful, and couldn't even secure a backup role. He made Kolb look like a franchise QB... Vick just simply was never good to begin with.
  15. Wow, this is genius, so with hindsight you were able to determine which player was a better draft pick? AMAZING! I bet the Raiders wish they had that talent when they took Jamarcus Russell. So your plan to randomly select a QB regardless of where we draft or who is available must be equally genius! Can we make you the GM?
  16. Sorry, it's Monday morning and I can't help myself on these types of posts... There are so many things wrong (IMO) with your point of view on this.... 1) The season is not even half way over, and by record the Bills are 1 game out of a playoff spot. And you are hoping the Bills lose out so the Bills can once again draft in the top 10 (as if they haven't done that over the last 12 years). Personally I prefer to watch my team win. 2) Fitz has looked pretty bad at times, however he has been scoring, more than most QB's in the NFL. Despite his inconsistency the offense has played plenty well enough to win. As everyone knows, the Defense is what has held the team back. The Bills just signed a big contract with Fitz. Now don't get me wrong, I'd like a QB too, but you are assuming the Bills would take one of the very iffy QB's from this class in the 1st round. 3) Some people have this weird conception that losing somehow makes the team better. If that was the case the Bills should be the best team in the league by now. 4) 1st round QB's fail just as often as they succeed. Partially because the draft is a crap shoot, partially because the teams they go to are awful, and have awful coaching. 5) You don't have to suck to have a good QB. The 3 best QB's in the league right now IMO were drafted 24th overall, 2nd round, and 7th round ( Rogers, Brees, Brady). Plus, NO didn't draft Brees, Denver didn't draft Peyton, the Packers didn't draft Favre etc, etc. The point is, being awful is not somehow a direct link to a franchise QB, it's just BEING AWFUL.
  17. The only thing I took away from this is... What the heck is with all these new ridiculous stats? DYAR? Defense-adjusted Yards Above Replacement for a quarterback? Who makes this stuff up and why? Does any one really actually belive there is value in this or care?
  18. Weren't people saying 2nd year player Spiller was a bust this time last year too? ( Let's be honest, saying "I'm not saying he's a bust...", means you are saying he's a bust)
  19. Sorry, with a response like this I can no longer take anything you say seriously. If you can't accept the fact that not everyone is going to agree with your opinion, perhaps you shouldn't post.
  20. So you are saying we are already good?
  21. This year there were some reasons to believe the Bills could actually be a contender, or at least look like a tough opponent. I think by now many (including myself) are thinking that once again we are watching the same ole hapless Bills. Improve slightly in one area, get worse in all others. Just curious what the masses think is needed for the Bills to have the best chance at ever being a top team in the NFL. Personally I think the Bills personnel is pretty decent. Sure Fitz is iffy and you could blame it on him, you could blame it on Mario... It's become clear to me though, that more than any other sport, to win in the NFL you need good coaching. The Bills could get lucky and draft a good player or two, maybe even a top flight QB, but without top coaching I don't think this team will ever change. Of course that's easier said than done, no coach in their right mind wants to come here, and being a small market team it's unlikely we'll compete financially. Still that's my answer the Bills need a good solid coaching staff. (multiple answers accepted)
  22. Exactly. That was the point of my post. I don't think this will happen. When I mentioned the PAC/convention center, ect, I was responding to comments asking for an open air stadium. This specific proposal NEEDS to have a retractable roof, because the company is proposing a multi-use facility.
  23. Sorry, performing arts center. LOL, and I was just saying in theory, they could leave it open. Not necessarily saying they would...
