  1. If being on a "horrible team with limited talent surrounding him (and terrible coaching)" causes him to play poorly, then he is DOOMED if he comes here...
  2. I did like what I have seen from Moore in particular, and Merriman. Although they looked their best in this past ONE game, against a poor offensive line. I think Kelsay will get plenty of playing time when healthy, as he plays the run well and can push the pocket (but usually not get sacks). I am not a big Anderson fan personally, and wasn't a big fan of the signing, but due to his money I expect him to be on the active roster when healthy. I suppose it's a good problem to have, but I would guess either Moore or Merriman is scratched once everyone is healthy. I don't think they would have to cut anyone, but if they did I'm thinking Justin Rodgers would be a good target. I'd much rather see Brooks in there than him. Actually I think Carrington has looked decent during the very few snaps he actually gets. You do realize he is playing as a reserve DT now, not DE (or LB)? Anther poor guy along with Kelsay, Moats, Spencer Johnson, and others who has been forced to play all over the place in this train wreck of a defense over the last 3 years.
  3. Well I agree with you're opinion there anyway. I think that's a pretty common feeling around here. What is bothering me a little now, is that THIS seems to be the year that they want to go after a QB. This year seems to be one of the most talent deprived drafts at the QB position in a while... Not saying that they can't get a good QB, but there are no obvious Lucks, Mannings, or RG3's in this draft. While it's obvious Fitz isn't ever going to be a top QB in this league, he is better than the list of QB's that preceded him. I just don't want to take a QB for the sake of taking a QB, and end up with another Losman or Edwards.
  4. Saying "we should have taken a QB over who we took with 2nd pick 2 years ago" is hindsight. You are saying it would have been the correct decision based on the information we gained AFTER those decisions were made...Yes that is hindsight. If Dalton turned out to be a flop (like a Blane Gabbert), no one would even be talking about this. We could have taken Gabbert instead of Dareus if Gabbert was lighting it up, people would be saying we made a "mistake" about that as well. Now what a more fair assessment would be, is to say that who we DID take has not worked out. Aaron Williams is not living up to the expectations of the early 2nd round pick used to take him. It's fair to say that the FO did a poor job of talent evaluation, since AW has been a disappointment so far. The FO certainly can be evaluated on the success (or lack there of) of the guys they DID take. There is a difference between judging something that COULD have happened based on information from AFTER the decision (hindsight), and evaluating the decision that was actually made.
  5. Which is of course much easier to determine with the amazing powers of hindsight...
  6. Haha, this ^. The fans always wanted every QB that has ever been draft eligible. Sorry, I don't buy the "it's not hind sight, I liked him before" argument. I don't hear any one saying it was a mistake not to draft Clausen, McCoy, Kolb, Gabbert, ect... But of course they would be if they all of the sudden had a great game. Hindsight Wait what? You are making a logical assessment with out using the obvious powers of hindsight? Impressive.
  7. I just saw that Johnny Hekker, the rookie STL punter, has the highest completion percentage and QBR in the league! He is a perfect 3 for 3 for 42 yards and a TD, with a perfect 158.3 QBR. Sign him up! I definitely agreed with the first part of this statement, but the last part is questionable at best. I remember guys like Steve Young, John Elway, Aaron Rogers, ect being pretty good scrambling QB's. Furthermore, if you watched Kaepernick yesterday, he clearly did it all throwing, not rushing. I'm with you saying that it's too early to crown him a HOF QB, but saying he can't succeed because he can run doesn't make much sense to me... One thing I took away from that game is that the kid has a cannon, and he can be impressively accurate down field.
  8. Of course, in hindsight every pick that develops into a successful player is a "missed opportunity". The Williams pick isn't looking very good at this point, so certainly its fair to say who we DID pick isn't working out so far.
  9. We suck at defense, QB, coaching decisions, FO.... We suck at football...
  10. Yes, one game. That was his first start. First TD Pass, ect, ect... I had mentioned in my post that they had already been using him, mainly for the wildcat. Hindsight makes it so easy doesn't it? Of course if we went back in time and the Bills took a QB and he ended up being the next Losman with this team/coaching, people would be talking hindsight about that as well... I'm still not sold on Dalton though. The guy owes pretty much all of his stats, and his pro bowl credentials to AJ Green. Even with Green, he hasn't been much more effective than our amazing Ryan Fitzpatrick.
  11. I do like Kaepernick...BUT, It's ONE game, we've seen this many times before. More often than not it's a fluke (Kolb, Rob Johnson, Matt Flynn [too early to judge], Matt Cassel [entire season, system success]...). More importantly I don't think the 49ers have any desire whatsoever to trade Kaepernick. I think they believe he can run that offense better than Smith (they were using him before Smith got hurt), and that they think he is their QB of the future. A second rnd pick won't persuade them (he was an early 2nd rounder, that would make no sense). The only reasonable thing I could think of is a 1st and 2nd, something along those lines. But again, it was one game, and the 49ers most likely aren't interested in trading him. It's probably far more likely they would trade Smith, pending the outcome of this season. No thanks to that though...
  12. Hasn't this guy failed enough already? Why don't we go after someone who has succeeded for once?
  13. Agree completely. Yes Spiller has been great. Why? Because he doesn't have to do the things that FJ is doing. He is fresh, and he is being used in the situations best suited to his talents. It's not like FJ has been bad either, as a matter of fact he has been very good. The running attack as a whole has been terrific. It still boggles my mind why people are complaining about the one aspect of the Bills that has been good on a consistent basis...
  14. I'm a big Chip Kelly fan. However Gailey is not Chip Kelly, he simply can't pull it off. I still like the idea though. Some of the most painful moments for me as a Bills fan was when Jauron would decide to punt from the 30-45 yard line, on a 4th and 2. The Bills would then proceed to punt into the end zone for a negligible net gain. I'd go for points, as opposed to 10-25 yards in field position every time.
  15. Glad he chose one of the weaker QB draft classes to do that... Barkley = Claussen IMO.
  16. As did the 9ers a while back, the packers, ect...
  17. What a useless post... I don't believe he has what it takes either, so it wouldn't surprise me if the Pats keep their eye out for a bargain...
  18. Actually, one of my dogs acts like a cat. Cleans herself constantly, likes to catch small rodents and play with them.
  19. keep it in your pants
  20. Nice, big for a puggle huh? I've got a few mutts myself... Bailey, 7 (right) Shelby, 4, insane (left)
  21. Yeah, when it comes to a war of coaches and gameplans coming off a bye week, my money is on Kubiak/Phillips. I actually like Gailey as an OC, but Wanny's bye week plan will be "don't worry guys, take the week off, we're just going to do the same thing we've been doing anyway" Sheppard's response will be, "Good! We've been playing lights out on defense anyway! We don't need to improve!"
  22. If you consider that a "tirade", I am concerned for your mental well being and suggest you promptly seek help. Either that or you once again don't understand the meaning of the word. I'm sorry to have upset your delicate sensibilities, perhaps you shouldn't ask questions when you can't handle the answers.
  23. Now you are making me think you need to brush up on the definition of overreaction as well. It was simply a complete answer to your question. Apparently you just didn't like it.
  24. Funny, you overreacted again. I simply answered your question. You also may want to brush up on your use of irony...
