1. The one-handed catch was amazing! The football speed, route percision, and maturity he has at this stage is what is most impressive. He really takes in everything he is taught. And what a better Wr to show him the ropes than EM?

    147559

Also, probably kudos to our WR coach (who coached Boldin last year

to a super-rookie) doing it again this year with Lee Evans.

  2. No DOUBT

I think that TD keeps the cheaper of the 2, but I don't know who will be cheaper.  Pat is worth more in my book.  If jennings is gone we have a huge hole to fill, but if Pat is gone we might have capable DTs to start.  Marcus Price can't start at this level.  Mike Williams might get moved to the left side or guard.  Even if we keep Jennings, I still think that we have at least 2 new starters on the line next season- including positional shuffling.

    142024

Remeber Jennings himself was a 3rd round pick and did pretty good in his rookie year on the right side....I can see us going to the draft to get our LT if Jennings leaves...I still don't know if Edwards or Banan are 3 down linemen yet.

  3. I think williams will be back because he would be fairly cheap. I'd have to say Jennings is gone because he would ask for too much. I won't be too upset sue to his frequent injuries and mediocrity at tackle.

    142012

Williams is not going to come cheap.....There is always a demand for

good DL......Williams could bolt especially if there is a team that is close

    to winning the SB..

  4. Funny how they miraculously got better once McGahee stepped foot on the field... put Henry back in and I bet ya they look like crap again, but Im sure that's just coincidence..

    :w00t:

    142688

Agreed...The ability to pick up the Blitz solidly by McGahee has given the

OL guys to concentrate on their task rather than trying to help someone else.

  5. Wiley is to worried about his bling bling, to care about his performance on the field.

    139427

I was really surprised that Bill Parcells threw so much money at him (I

think they paid a 5M signing bonus) and signed him this off-season.

Goes to show that Parcells might really have lost it during this coaching stint.

Also, I think Wiley was never interested in staying with the Bills...He wanted

to go back home (LA is his hometown) and liked the warm weather rather

    than the buffalo cold.

  6. I agree, but.....

I bet Pittsburgh and New England will go into the last game of the season with the same record.  Which means we will have to play the 100% Steelers team, because they will need a win to remain tied with the Pats, and then they get home field because of the tie breaker.....

I think it is possible for us to win our remaining games, even the 100% Steeler team.

Pittsburgh will be playing a tough road game in Jacksonville this sunday night...Given that the Jax at 6-5 are desparate this game might slip away from

    pittsburgh.

  7. Same for me - although I'll get to watch the BUF at CIN game because it's a sell-out.

I note that Rudy80 pointed out that GB will be televised again. That would be the 7th that I have been treated to this season.

    133807

Being in Steeler country, it is hard to get bills games...I was fortunate to

get the Baltimore game when the steelers were on a bye...and then the

infamous blowout on sunday night. Plus I will get to see the season finale

    against the steelers.

  8. Losman will get killed behind this offensive line. Tom Donahoe in the off season needs to go shopping for olineman and secondary help.

    133891

Actually with his mobility Lossman might be a better fit for this OL than

Drew....Remember Flutie made that OL look good, while RJ behind the

same line was the most often sacked QB in the league.

DBs accuracy has fallen considerably down this season and is a sitting duck

in the pocket...I still think DB has to play until we are mathematically

eliminated from the playoffs...Also JPs debut should be in the friendly

confines of RWS not some tough away game.

  9. AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME:

    Colts - 31

    Steelers - 30

    SUPERBOWL:

    Colts - 35

    Falcons - 27

First time in a LONG time, I am going to love the victors of this years superbowl.

    133621

Disagree....Playing the steelers in Hienz field in January is going to be

tough......The only team who can match effectively with the steelers

at Heinz field is probably the Pats....Remember the Pats did not have

Dillon the last time they played the steelers and it showed...

The falcons have won by their defense....But I don't think they can go into

    Philly and beat them....

AFC Championship game is probably Steelers Vs Patriots...

NFC Championshop game is probably Philly Vs Minnesota (if Moss comes

    back quickly).

  10. The truth is that the Patriots will make the playoffs, they and the Steelers are the best teams in the AFC and look to meet up in the AFC championship game.  So predict all you want that the Patriots will lose, did not help with the Red Sox. :w00t:

    130313

    TBone

Do you think the Patriots can go into Heinz field again and win in the playoffs.

The steelers have a pretty easy schedule from here on and their win over

the patriots gives them the home-field advantage.

  11. You have to credit Donahoe for bringing Morman, McGee, Smith, Haggens, Crowell, and Stamer.  These guys are huge contributors on special teams.  These guys were all special teams contributors in college.

Even Lindell is having a decent season.

    128207

and don't forget London Fletcher...He has handed out fantastic blocks

during many of these big returns....Also looks like the ST have rectified

their problems in the 1st qtr of the season, when we had holding or other

silly calls that caused us big returns.

  12. Wrong. For Jonas, he said he's "like" to have him back.  That can mean anything. He said the same thing about Peerless.

For Moulds, he said that they plan to have him finish his career in Buffalo. That makes it clear where he stands.

    129815

    Dawgg,

I don't see what is the big difference between "like" and "plan"....Both are

talking about a possibility without guaranteeing the end result...

  13. (3) It would have been easy to move up 2 spots and it would have only cost us a 3rd or a 4th?  That's ridiculous on two fronts: (1) moving up in the first, no matter how few spots, costs an extravagent price, at least a 2nd; (2) TD has said quite a few times that they tried to move up, but, Jax didn't want to (wanted to draft Williams there) and Atl wouldn't (afraid the Jets would take the cb they wanted). TD would have loved to steal Ben from his old team (Pit), so, I'm sure he did everything he could to move up.  It's easy to say we should have got Ben now, but, who knew back then he'd be this good.

    124694

After the draft, I reflected on this...

We should have picked Losman with our 1st pick and then could have got our WR

later in the 1st round (at a less price to pay, because we might have been

less pressurized) as the WR was pretty deep in this draft.

  14. let's tally the minuses:

    DB trade

    MW draft

    coy wire draft

    ryan denney trade and draft

failure to give up "too Much" to position for drafter Rothesliberger

then, give up too much for JP

acquire Vincent who is old and injury prone (and hurt JP)

Clayton ,is looking like a #1Wr, picked after lee evans

    gregg williams

    mike mularkey

how much more damage do we let him do?

    123277

Clayton is thriving because he became the #1 receiver for the team after

Galloway went down and McCardell refused to play....and their running game

was hit to the ground by Pittmans suspension...

Has he been a game breaker....no.....which Evans has been given the sporadic

    chances he has been given..

  15. Funny, I see a team that had the exact same problem last year.

The Jacksonville Jagaurs drafted a rookie quarterback in Byron Leftwhich and had a rookie head coach in Jack Del Rio going through the same situation that we have now.

I now see that team at 6-3 in the playoff race.

    122576

and big ben replaced maddox in Pittsburgh and is 7-0
