Ice,
Good post....You have some valid points and some a little off base....The truth
lies somewhere in between.....Look at Jax, Oakland, Giants.....If they can
win with the kind of offense they have, then if the breaks fall in our favor
a little, we can too....
Hopefully with some more cohesiveness, this Offense will come together
and produce the way they are expected too....Wins breed confidence....What
we need is a damn WIN now.

Campbell, Neufeld, and Euhus have shown absolutely nothing this season, other than the fact that they can drop passes and cannot sustain their blocks. I hope someone lit a fire under their a**es and that they come out and give Bledsoe some kind of saftey valve; it's not like he couldn't use one, you know! It's still early enough that they can turn it around, but they'd better start now.
Why blame the TEs only...Neither has any of our WRs shown any ability to
get separation.......EM, Lee Evans and Josh Reed have been equally
pedestrian.

Speaking of Peerless, has there ever been a bigger waste of money in football history than this guy? I have the misfortune of having Price on my fantasy team so I know his stats this year, and they SUCK! I've watched two Falcons games and they don't even throw his way since he's never open. Then they try to force him the ball or they give him a reverse to run for about 5 yards. Last year it was blamed on Vick being injured. This year what's his excuse? It's sad when Alge Crumpler is a much more integral part of the offense than PP.
PP is the classic example of free agency gone bad (not for $$, but for his career production).
Close...Alvin Harper...signed as a FA by the Bucs from the SB winning Cowboys...
He was a real bust.....Unfortunately I also have PP as my fantasy starter....
The guy wanted to go to Pro Bowls and felt that with EM around he wouldn't
get a chance.....If he had stuck around here wiht a more cap friendly deal
we might be running a better offense here....
-
And look at the quality of their wins.. Both teams are 2-1 and 3-0 right
now with all the breaks going their way....but they are not dominant
teams....
The dominant teams still are the Patriots and the Colts in the AFC
and Philadelphia and Seattle in the NFC....Those four teams could very
well be in the championship games come January 2005....
The other teams are just pretenders...On any given day they can either
win or lose depending how the chips falls.
-
The Jaguars could very well be 0-3.......
1. A desparate last-gasp drive with 3 4th down conversion
2. Griffin fumbles the ball at the JAX 10 yard line under 2 minutes to go
in a 6-3 ball game.
3. Tennessee loses one at home by a field goal.....
The luck factor is in favor of the Jaxs.....If we could have had 2 of those
then everyone will be talking about us a upcoming team...not a team in
dire straits...
-
The Best OL in football belongs to the Patriots right now....If we can stop
them in our own yard it will be the beginning of something special.
-
-
Notice I am not saying how many the O-line gives up because I know:
1. The O-line will give up some with prro blocking.
2. Runing backs will allow some.
3. The "Statue" will cause some, holding the ball and no mobility.
4. There will always be some coverage sacks.
Last year the there were about 50 sacks given up I believe.
This year I predict 60. Really.
If you take the 1st game as the barometer, then we will give up 16 for the year..
If you take the 2nd game then we will give up 112.....
The bottom line is it is too early to say....
-
-
Exactly. Until the OL and the RBs can stop the blitz there will be no big
plays.....Our WRs are not getting out of the LoS quick enough and then
to make it worse they are dropping catches....
-
Greg Williams kept bitching about his players not executing the plays and
defended his coaching staff......Once you distance yourselves from the
players, the players are not going to play for you. We don't want
exactly that kind of situation.
Also, if Del Rio looses those two games, then he is a big scapegoat...today
he is called the one of the motivational coaches...go figure....
Same thing....1st week pittsburgh beats a oakland team and everone was
screaming that pittsburgh had the best defense....and boom...2nd week
they get creamed by a baltimore offense ....
-
Also, looking at the other side of the coin, our 2nd rdr that we gave them
this year Julius Jone is in Bill Parcells dog house and had a horrible debut
yesterday by fumbling the ball....So we look from that standpoint, we might
have got him just for a 1st rd from the next year...
Bottom line is, it is a move that TD made with the hope that this team will
be geared for the playoffs this year and hence it is likely to be a mid-round
pick....
For all the accolades people poured on TH, he has not played like a top 10
back in the league...Looks like WM is on his mind more than the ball-game.
He is not only kiiling his FA chances, he is also killing us from getting a
decent draft pick back...

We have a Blazer right now. We just found out we are having our 3rd baby and the baby is due in April. All 3 kids will be under 6 years old, so we will need 3 carseats. One booster, a toddler car seat, and a baby car seat. The blazer's back seat is definitely too small for 3 seats. My wife loves having a 4 x 4 because she feels safer and more comfortable in the winter. I'm thinking either a Trailblazer or Durango with a 3rd seat, or a Dodge Caravan (AWD or front wheel drive). Anybody have any advice, besides using protection next time. Advice on a vehicle.
We have had the Honda Odessey for the last 4 years and absolutely love it.
The ease with which the side doors allow you to load and unload children
is worth every cent...

The problem lies in how we spent the other 40% of the plays. I believe that we really need to stretch the field more when we do decide to pass. Bledsoe's strength is his cannon of an arm. Sunday's game showed us that Drew is also capable of improving his short-passing game and releasing the ball quickly; however, his bread and butter will continue to be the deep ball and this is why we pay him the big bucks (otherwise, why not just cut Drew, use that money elsewhere, and start Shane Matthews to run the same game plan we had against the Jags?).
I don't care the dink and dunk variety if each down results in 4-5 yards....
We not only will get the 1st downs, we will also be chewing the play clock and
shortening the game and keeping the opposing defense on the field for 3 downs
instead of a big down the field shot....
-
Bledsoe made one bad play yesterday within the gameplan he was given. Other then that Drew did exactly what was asked of him within the gameplan. The problem was the gameplan was "play not to lose" instead of a winning one.
Anyone that says Bledsoe was terrible obviously was not at the game or doesn't know football.
Which was the play that was his bad....The sack was not his fault....it was
the play called.....
I think we are going to see a "play not to lose" offense until our OL is solid
enough to pass protect for 4-5 seconds instead of the 2-3 seconds they can
do now.

Coach Mularkeys first choice DC was Dick LeBeau...but DB turned it down
to take up the offer from his former coach Cowher. JG was mularkeys
2nd choice. I don't think Gray is a bad coach. His players let him down
yesterday on that final drive. I think it is ok to play prevent defense if you
can handle it.

Well I certainly have the Monday blues!
Now if only:
1. Our kicker can get it together.
2. We can stop the fumbles.
3. We can avg. more than 2.6 yds a rush.
4. We can put together sustained drives. Think of how many 3 and outs our defense gave us.
5. Find a way to win, especially at home!
Avoid making mental mistakes....
1. CV's crucial holding call
2. Fletchers 5 yard penalty
3. Nate Clements should have batted the ball away instead of going for
the interception...It is a 4th down silly.

I was looking at the rosters of the two teams to see which part of the
matchup we are likely to win and loose...
1. Bills Running Game Vs Jax Rush defense
Henry and McGahee will give it all to get some running lanes against the
two behmoth tackles who can clog the middle. Look for the bills to run
some stunts to run against the weaker DEs (reverses, toss sweep etc).
Advantage: Neutral
2. Bills Passing Game Vs Jax Pass Defense
If DB can throw the short passes to get the passing game going, look for
Mark Campbell to have a big game. Mark should be able to match up well
against the Jaguars linebackers and one on one he could provide DB the
safety valve.
Advantage: Bills
3. Jax Running Game Vs Bills Run defense
Fred Taylor is one of the top 10 backs (like Henry), but will find it
difficult to run against PW and SA (Unless Adams Toe injury is serious).
The Bills DEs are probably much better than the Jax and probably play
the run well.
Advantage: Slight advantage to Bills.
4. Jac Passing Game Vs Bills Pass defense
Leftwich is in his 2nd year and playing a road game in RWS against 73K+
sold out crowd is going to have his hands full, especially if Taylor canniot
run against the bills D. Also his best TE Kyle Brady won't be playing the
game. If Reggie Williams does not show up as the 2nd WR, they might be
in trouble.
Advantage: Bills (especially the 12th man will play a big role here).
5. Bills ST Vs Jax ST
The bills kickoff and punt coverage was horrible in the last 2 season games
Lindell and Moorman have been ok with their kicks during the pre-season.
The question is can Lindell kick in the clutch. He has not had that oppurtunity
last year to really crucify him. I haven't watch the JAX play STs so not sure
what their standings are.
Advantage: Incomplete.
The bills should be able to assert their superiority in this game and win it.

Pat feels that this is going to be his biggest pay day as this will be his
last contract and wants to hit the jackpot on it....My feeling is TD is asking
him to play for a incentive based contract (a la Sam Adams type contract)
and PW has balked at it. The chances of us holding on to Pat Williams next
year is pretty slim, especially if we do manage to re-sign Jennings.
May be Eric Moulds will adjust his Cap # (which is something like 7M for
next year) and the deal will get done...Of course if PW has a down year,
then he looses all the leverage...
-
In fact he did very well in those games where he mastered the short passes
last year....and we won most of those games....
One of the biggest problems last year was we always fell behind quickly
due to the offense going 3rd and out very quickly, thereby putting lot of
pressure on the D.
If they can convert their dismal 3rd down conversion percentage from 20%
to some where in the 40% region, they will be a different team.
-
Wow, as sick as I am of the Brady posts, that is some stevestojan man. Is he still under his original rookie deal????? My God, what does the guy have to do to get a raise? Oh.........n .... n....no......feel-----ing......w......weak...in ..the ...knee....knees........can't......give..............in..................
No. He redid his deal before the beginning of the last season....
-
-
Isn't the same team beat the Patriots 31-0 in the season opener....All I am
saying is Jerry Gray had a plan to beat out brady last year in the season
opener and he executed it to perfection.....I am not sure why JG cannot
install a similar game plan....
The fact is the team executed the game plan on that day.....and fell apart
later.....It is all about execution....

Agree, Any trade of WM that does not fetch a 1st round pick (lower than
the 23rd spot) will make TD look like a moron. TD will never do any
such deal.
