  1. During the same period, the seahawks tried Whitehurst, Jackson, Flynn at the QB position and finally caught the genie in the bottle in Wilson. Let us not forget all the failures of that regime. If our defense does tighten up, then may be the Bills do not go into rebuilding mode.
  2. Until 1991, they were all called "State University of New York" @ <put your favorite city>. Then in 1992, they decide to rename them as University at <Put your favorite city> . SUNY Albany (Alma mater) sounded much more cooler than University at Albany....
  3. This. Also, I think they wanted a change in the locker room mentality. The Bills have been too laid back and bringing an outside competition may be a good thing. Fitz had reached his ceiling as a starting QB, Kolb hasn't yet (but getting close)! and an improvement in his (Spiller) ability to pick up the Blitz would give the QB time to throw the ball deep.
  4. I don't see how he beats out Kolb. TJ will once again be our 3rd string QB or cut in training camp (if the Bills take 2 QBs in the draft)
  5. The bills would have to get a WR in those two rounds,....They simply cannot draft 2 LBs in the 1st two rounds. Geno and Barkley are likely top-15 picks. EJ, Nassib and/or Wilson are likely to go in bottom 10 of the 1st round or the top of the 2nd round. Bray, and the rest will be available in the 3rd round.
  6. There is ton of smokescreens around this time. The Bills have their draft board ready. If they think Nassib is their guy and feel they can win with him, he will be picked at #8. They are not looking at Mel Kipers draft board or Grudens list of QBs..
  7. Kolb is getting backup money with a chance to make mid-level starter money if he actually wins the job. The team has to pick a QB this year and next year and groom them for the future.
  8. You are assuming that FJ will be back in full strength to form one of the best RB Duos in the league. The OP was questioning if Jackson will be back to full strength. Secondly, Jackson had a big fumbling issue. When you fumble the football like Freddie did, you do not form one of the best duo RBs. Right now we have to mark that the Bills really have one great RB.
  9. He never did and never will. He questioned Aaron Maybin, when there was no production out of him. Truly a team player. I just wish he did not have those season-ending injuries. It has really derailed a promising career. When he was at Center, Fitz had much more time to step into the pocket and throw the football. When he was out, Fitz struggled.
  10. Correct. Unless they get a trade partner, they will be forced to pick the best player available, which will be Miliner.
  11. I just don't know if Nassib will be the pick @ 8 Bill. If Kolb were not to sign, I could see the panic in the Bills front office. If Kolb is indeed in the fold, I definitely can see the Bills waiting out until Rd 2 to pick up their QB of choice. I agree that the Bills have spent far too many 1st rd picks on DBs...But they may be inclined to pick one more as the Best Player Available on the board. The bills have shown over the past 13 years that they can sell tickets no matter what crap they put on the field.
  12. If Milner is available, the Bills will take him. They can get their OLB and WR in Rd 3 and 4. Of course, I don't mind if they trade down for further picks.
  13. Hey..that is encouraging growth of local business...Go Bills Yet...He will need a QB to be successful in this league!
  14. You are missing my point. Your examples are 3 seasons ago...Today's NFL is vastly different from what it was in 2009.
  15. The 49ers give him a great chance to win a super bowl...The guy has been on incredibly bad teams in Oakland and Philadelphia.
  16. Ever since they moved this into a four day event, I have lost interest. It is just too long.
  17. The sight of Russ, Nix, Whaley and Marronne sitting on their hands!!!!!! Will they get bananas to eat ? I believe the Bills don't announce a signing until the contract is approved by the NFL legal team.
  18. Fitz throwing down field disappeared after his 1st full season. He was more scared to pull the trigger in the 2nd and 3rd seasons. Marrone cannot simply build a "run-first" offense. In today's NFL, teams will force you to beat with the QB by putting 8 (or 9) in the box to stop the run. If we don't have a consistent QB who can deliver the ball to the receivers the running game will not matter. At this point we neither have the QB nor the WRs. Hopefully, the draft will address this weakness.
  19. Why? This guy has probably given up his body over the past 15-16 years (starting from HS/College/NFL) unlike what you or I might have even attempted (not even close) and is getting paid for all that hard work over those many years....All the NFL players deserve this salary. Also remember, for many of these guys there are *NO* alternate career after they retire from the NFL. They simply would have to live on the money they made during their career.
  20. +1. Any time, you can have Brady on his back on the Turf @ Ralph Wilson Stadium, Orchard Park
  21. Agreed. The only part I did not like is that it is a 1-year deal. At least sign him to 2 years with the option to cut on March 1st if it did not work out!!
  22. They had a Franchise QB then and they will need one to become good again!
  23. Good possibility...If Arizona gets Carson Palmer, Arians will be investing his top 5 pick on a cornerstone OT to protect Palmer's blind side. Oakland got Matt Flynn for draft picks. May be they can trade down a few spots and get Geno Smith before the Bills. (If the OTs are as good as advertised, may be some of the teams may chose to go up and get them). Jax is the true competition...They are likely to pick up Geno Smith, what with a new owner wanting to start fresh.
  24. No Tyler Wilson or Matt Scott or Zack Dysert?
