  1. You both have done worse.
  2. I have concerns that the talent needs for McD's scheme to stop the league's top offenses when it matters are unrealistic. We've tried a lot of different combos of players and DCs but the song remains the same. No answers in January and they give up points and yards at a historic rate.
  3. I'm not jumping on the hope train but playing better team defense and improving both a bottom ranked PP and PK unit is the quickest path to being in the playoff picture. Its strange that a team with good scoring metrics was so inept on the power play. That screams coaching issue to me and not talent. Granted we just moved a player responsible for 28% of our PP goals (12 out of 43). Kulich needs to be the guy taking one timers and filling the net on the PP from the right wing opposite Tage. PK results are generally in line with our overall goals against per game. Its obvious this team has been poor defensively for years. If the moves on defense and another year in Lindy's system does not dramatically improve defensive play, this team is going to struggle big time. Its another season that hinges on Tage, Dahlin, and Tuch staying healthy all year and continuing to produce around career high levels and a major jump in play from some combination of Kulich, Benson, Quinn. Otherwise you can take a 10 game losing streak to the bank. We will miss Peterka's speed. Without adding another top 6 forward I think we are looking at a less entertaining but less maddening path to a similar finish on the standings as last year.
  4. Taking a deeper dive into the results, the Sabres played 30 games where they scored 2 goals or less. They won 1. They played 52 games where they scored 3 or more and lost 17, winning the other 35. In contrast, the Stanley Cup winners played 33 games where they scored 2 goals or less and won 6. They only lost 8 of their 49 games when scoring 3 or more, winning the other 41. Are we winning a 2-1 game with the additions on defense? Or are we going to close out some 3 to 2 games?
  5. It was terrifying watching him in action when he came back. Every time a defender was near him I felt sick. So relieved he finished that game and retired soon afterward. Its crazy how the inspiring can also be so nauseating at the same time.
  6. A truly incredible recovery and an amazing comeback story. Modern medicine gets a bad rap but I'm telling you man, theres something to it. I mean, which one did he even break? I can't even tell.
  7. It is. Big time. I respect his fight and tenacity but he spends a lot of time on his ass. We hope he can become Brad Marchand who is also 5'9" and weighs 180 according to the internet. Benson is 5'9" and weighs 170 supposedly. I think Marchand is closer to 200 at this point and Benson is closer to 150 mid season. The difference in their physicality is night and day. To be fair, Benson is still a year younger going into his 3rd year as a pro than Marchand was in his rookie season. Hopefully he spent the offseason in the gym and crushing HGH.
  8. You lesbians have no respect for rule of law!
  9. He can certainly be charged or sued for alleged criminal actions which occurred before he was drafted. I don't think the league can suspend him for offenses prior to his status as an NFL player.
  10. Does unspent cap accrue to following years? I think GMKA is planning to go berserk when McDavid is a free agent in 2033.
  11. In my opinion, walking away from a proven market in a league which has had a rocky road to 32 teams would be an incredible mistake. A few years ago the Florida Panthers were at serious risk of a relocation. Seems like ancient history 2 cup wins later. A few franchises remain on shaky ground and several others are far too early into their relocations/expansions to call successes at this point.
  12. NYC Bills Backers moved on from McFadden's a few years ago. Penn 6 is the current Bills Backers bar in Manhattan I believe.
  13. And there just so happened to be a camera crew too?!?!... idk man, i beginning to think this was staged. Men don't notice anything
  14. The annual trip up for the home opener Going to the Bills bar every sunday to hang out with the usuals Getting black out drunk and rewatching the 12 minute condensed game on mondays Making a run at the title
  15. Just once, ONCE, it would be refreshing to see an insincere thank you thread. One dripping with sarcasm and spite. Is that too much to ask?
  16. There will not be enough time to shine the troughs. We're going to be pissing on some rough cut metal. The splashback COULD be noticeable. Emphasis on the COULD. Can't stress that enough.
  17. Fair enough. I like JJ but his contract was one that I was scared of. I love his speed, he has a nice shot, but I don't think his game is well rounded enough to commit to him long term for that kind of money. Norris was a trade. We are paying Norris "too much" because we gave a bad contract to Cozens.
  18. Would you have paid JJP $7.7M per year? On the other hand.....the last time we gave a long term contract to a guy who just had a never to be sniffed again shooting % we wound up regretting that hard.
  19. "Soccer is the most popular game in the world. According to data from the International Soccer Federation, the MLS is projected to over take Major League Baseball and NASCAR as the most popular sports league in the United States by 2010." - Sports Illustrated July 1996 Edition
  20. 50% of the NHL makes the playoffs every year.
  21. After the Whistle reported today that hes not demanding a trade. He wants first line minutes and to be on PP #1 and he doesnt want to be just another guy on a new team. Sounds like hes sticking around but he's pissed that the team is a dumpster fire and he is a lot more outspoken than the quiet kid we drafted. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/seneca-side-note-vol-66-too-much-talking/id1590573108?i=1000714295627
