  1. Meltdowns and goodbye threads are very good for board morale. They bring everyone together. The first drop of blood in the water and everyone sets their issues with each other aside for a moment to get in on the feeding frenzy. His name was realtruelove. He was a weak man and now hes dead, probably. Real men do not believe in true love anyway. Just sexual intercourse. The point is that he is gone and while most of us never really even knew him, he is gone and never coming back, like so many people before him. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/140912-good-bye-tbd-for-now/ http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/173115-leaving-the-forum/ http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/153823-done-goodbye-bills-until-you-are-fixed/ http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/151791-thank-you-and-goodbye/
  2. Brandon is the problem for reasons I can't even begin to describe!!!!!!!111!!!111!!!!
  3. Commodities are tough. As an asset class they move to a different beat than the market. If you want to learn about commodities pricing/trading you need to look at everything from how its produced, where its produced, its historical pricing patterns, and the general macro outlook. I haven't the slightest clue when it comes to oil, silver or gold. All of my reading for fun has been focused on investing in equities. For general "you can do it!" type books, Peter Lynch's "Beating the Street" and "One Up on Wall Street" books were enjoyable reads. For some easy to follow investment strategies, Greenblatt's "You Can Be A Stock Market Genius" and "The Little Book that Beats the Market" are accessible and reasonably useful. I've read a lot of value investing themed books. Of all the ideas out there, I think Value Investing has the best track record. Its more advanced and its dry as all hell, but Security Analysis is the bible of value investing. Anything by Buffet, Klarman, Marks, Graham and you're in good hands.
  4. I'd look for the guy clinging to the leg of the guy who is trying to show everyone his meat.
  5. The industry is headed for a real dark day everyone who now feels warm and safe in their ETFs and market tracking funds get kicked in the balls since the lack of active investment strategies is pushing ridiculous valuations. After the crash in 2008, funds flooded from active strategies into passively managed vehicles. The average man has been sold on the idea that these index tracking ETFs are safe bets. If we see this looming correction that we've been hearing about for the past 18 months, people aren't going to know where to turn.
  6. I watched a bunch of geniuses deep fry a turkey in the parking lot of the Ralph last year before the Jets game. They filled the !@#$ing thing to the top with oil, got it hot, then dumped still frozen bird. Oil was overflowing from the get go, running all over the parking lot, and dripping right into the flame. We were parked about 3 spaces down. I still cannot believe that these dumb !@#$s didn't start a grease fire and engulf a few people and cars. I had our party basically packed up just in case.
  7. It isn't hard, but I hate having my whole place smell like deep fryer. Deep frying outside is challenging in the winter and I'd probably look funny standing in the parking lot of my complex cooking chicken.
  8. I recently had the full suicide wing experience when a particularly chewy bite off a wing flung a drop of ghost sauce (at least it was labeled ghost chili, not sure if there were any ghost peppers in the sauce) into my eye. I was blind for about 5 minutes.
  9. I'd look for pants full of shart or signs of rectal leakage.
  10. Chipotles are dried and smoked jalapenos. Like ancho chilies are dried and smoked poblano peppers. Chipotles in adobo sauce are amazing for making quick sauces and salsas. Toss them in a pot of chili.
  11. Everyone who has no idea how far we are from alt energy sources fulfilling our energy needs is certain that alt energy should power their community and they all agree that they don't want unsightly and loud turbines in their community.
  12. I think we all know that guy. I had some dude tell me about how he eats the hottest stuff available and laughed at me when I said xyz sauce was hot. I let him sample some insanity sauce. He cried. Capsaicin releases endorphins. Eating spicy food gives you a rush and afterward you crave that sensation again.
  13. Those things didn't happen? Go ahead and find one source, one line, one passing reference which supports your contention that Cutler got Shanny or McDaniels canned and I'll forget everything that was widely publicized at the time.
  14. http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2014/09/15/faulty-gas-well-pollute-water/15631955/ Drilling a well is akin to fracking like every financial institution in the country is Wall Street.
  15. Fracking is only controversial because the term is now used to mean any part of the oil/gas extraction process. Not a single study has linked fracking to contaminated ground water. I eagerly await the deluge of articles citing pollution, methane and water contamination which prove my point that drilling a well and maintaining a well are not "fracking".
  16. Shanahan got fired for totally screwing the Broncos cap situation. Cutler had nothing to do with that. McDaniels heavily pursued Matt Cassell in the offseason and was shopping Cutler before the two had seen their first game together. Once that went public McDaniels and Cutler couldn't work together. McDaniels turned that whole team over, had rifts with all their big name players, moved up to get America's favorite talking head on the SEC network and had a putrid record which got him fired. Maybe you can pin the Trestman firing on Cutler in a few weeks, but unless you have an obvious agenda you wouldn't make a case for the other two.
  17. I liked the part of that movie where the actors started playing themselves and then you find out that nothing really happened and it was all a big joke on the viewer. What a twist!!!
  18. Mine sat in the paper tube for over a year. Just got it framed. Its enormous.
  19. I gave Blankfein a back rub...I mean hardwork and street smarts!!!
  20. Theres even less stopping you from registering for the CFA program like meazza and I did. No MCATs to take, no school admissions board, just the nominal registration fee and understanding of the material. Finance is the ultimate meritocracy. No one cares where you came from. Can you make money?
  21. Sadly, hes not alone. People describe hedge fund managers like Bond super villains operating out of volcano lairs fleecing the world with super computers powered by black magic. It would be nice if they at least leveled the right criticism against hedge funds with their algorithm based trading. Heres a good piece: http://blogs.wsj.com/moneybeat/2014/09/04/hfts-circus-market-and-a-dash-for-trash-fund-manager-lets-loose/ Meanwhile, the methods employed by the most famous and arguably most successful investor of all time, Buffet, are about as sexy as a xanax fueled, missionary position romp through a hole in the bed sheet.
  22. Its pretty funny on many levels. Especially so when considering historical hedge fund fee adjusted performance. I'd say the only people being exploited by hedge funds are the super wealthy individuals paying 2 and 20.
  23. What fund does he work for? Whats their general trading strategy?
  24. I'm throwing in the towel. Everything I've written has been dismissed as nitpicking based on semantics and showing off. He makes no effort to educate himself. I'm now of the opinion that farmers are destroying the country because of GMOs, DDT, Monsanto, run off from Tyson chicken farms, illegal immigrant labor, sexual harassment suits at John Deer, ecoli breakouts, the depleted water table in the San Joaquin Valley, mad cow, and feed lots. Why didn't farmers recognize these issues and stop these things?
  25. Which investment banks were originating mortgages again?
