Has there ever been a great coach
FleaMoulds80 replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then by your definition, Marv Levy is the most overrated head coach in NFL history. Don Shula was an ultimate dissappointment so he's overrated. Sure he had an undefeated season, but could only win 2 Super Bowls in 5 visits with possibly one of the greatest QBs to play the game? Overrated. Steelers have always been good because they select great coaches. That's not Cowher's fault. He also had this guy named Dan Marino. He was pretty decent if I recall so Shula doesn't count. -

IMO, Parcells is a top 5 coach in NFL history along with being one of the greater architects. He knows how to build a winning team and his formula rarely fails. -

You're right I guess. 161-99 is a pretty overrated record. -

Bill Cowher (Neil O'Donnell, Mike Tomczak, Kordell Stewart, Tommy Maddox) Sure he had Big Ben his last 2 years as HC but Ben wasn't "GREAT" his 1st 2 years. Bill Parcells (Phil Simms, Jeff Hostetler, Drew Bledsoe, Vinny Testaverde, Neil O'Donnell, Ray Lucas) Mike Ditka (Jim McMahon, Heath Shuler, Kerry Collins, Billy Joe Tolliver) -
McKelvin, Urbik, Jones, and Merriman can all take a hike IMO.

You must've forgotten the part where i clearly said "NOT EXCUSING HIM OF HIS ACTIONS..." Maybe YOU got hit in the head a bit too many times. Who knows.
-
Who's sayin he's going to fail? Not me. And a 4th round pick can't be labeled as a BUST. All I'm saying is Easley hasn't done sht in this league and he's already being talked about as being the number 2 WR and has the "skill set" to be a stud.

Jealous much?

And I assume a Buffalo woman is someone who is butch, wears overalls, masculine, gets into fights and loves to drink beer.

SLIGHTLY better? He went from 159 yds to 1041 yds and 1 TD to 13 TDs in 1 season. THAT IS BREAKOUT. Not to mention Stevie played against the toughest competition in college football (LSU, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, etc). Numbers are far superior to Easley considering level of competition. An 8 TD and 13 TD season is pretty significant. Stevie ranked 4th in the NATION in receiving TDs that year. 8 TDs that season would've ranked a player 45th in the nation.

Ladanian Tomlinson retired today
FleaMoulds80 replied to Fan in San Diego's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Arena League is a 95% pass league so I don't see Fred being used too much. Tomlinson had close to 3,750 touches in his pro career. Fred has about 1,000 in the NFL with about 185 touches in NFL Europe. I'm not even going to bother counting the touches he had in Arena League. I'd say Tomlinson had just a LITTLE bit more mileage on him than Fred. Fred's legs should be fresh compared and has another 3 or 4 great years in him -
What's your point? Those would be GREAT numbers for 1 season. Someone said he had a "breakout season" and I said 893 yds and 8 TDs IMO does not qualify for a "breakout season." And sorry it doesn't.

Percy Harvin requests a trade

Why does everyone automatically assume this is over a contract? Did I miss something? -
JoeBucsFan.com took a swim in the murky waters of this rumor and relayed this: "Price says something like 'get up,' Barron says something alone the lines of 'F-you,' and Price proceeds to punch him in the head." Know your role rookie. Didnt a majority of people here want Barron?
-
Brian Price was just having a bad day. Brian Price's sister died and mustve been emotional. Said get out of my seat and Barron said f"ck you and punched him. Not excusing him of his actions but give the guy a break. Emotions just got the best of him.

That was more of a sarcastic tone but i guess that went over your head little dude. -

He was joking? -
Let me get this straight. Jaws ranks Fitz number 24. Promo says "Stat-wise he's in the middle of the pack." Since when did the NFL expand to 48 teams? I must've missed this.

And how many Super Bowls have those guys been to? And did you really put Cassel and Dalton in there? Trent Dilfer, Jeff Hostetler, Doug Williams, Joe Namath, Mark Rypien, Jim McMahon. The fact that these guys have won a Super Bowl and names like Dan Marino, Fran Tarkenton, Johnny Unitas, Earl Morral, Jim Kelly, Warren Moon, Rich Gannon, Dan Fouts have never won a Super Bowl says you know nothing.

I'm not a huge fan of Fitz but that's too low. I'd rank him somewhere between 17-20.

Spiller a "Changed Man" Says Fitz
FleaMoulds80 replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spiller is not Chris Johnson. He's nowhere near Chris Johnson. CJ Spiller IMO was not the best offensive weapon (outside QBs) to come out of college that year, that would be Dez Bryant. Dez Bryant fell for obvious reasons but talentwise Dez was much more talented and more touted coming out of college. Even though he had his issues, if it was an offensive weapon we needed, I would've taken my chance with Dez over Spiller any day. You can say he did well while Fred was out but not really. He struggled A LOT against the Jets which had the 13th ranked rush defense averaging only 2.9 yds per carry. Then he did decent against the 20th, 24th ranked rush defense. The only game i was REALLY impressed with was his game against Miami. He's had good games against mediocre defenses. Sorry I'm still not sold on Spiller and Jackson is STILL the man for the next 2 years or so. -
He wasn't even a 1 year wonder. 893 yds and 8 TDs does not even count as a "one year wonder" status at any level.

Belicheat Strikes Again!
FleaMoulds80 replied to BillsFan-4-Ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate Belichick as much as anybody here but what did he do wrong here? He snatched up a player that was released by the Giants and now Coughlin is crying about it. Once he's been waived, he's fair game for any team. Considering that Merriman's done absolutely NOTHING for us and he's always injured, we still managed to hold on to him and not waive him. Why? BEcause we obviously see something in him and have faith him in. Giants have themselves to blame for losing Ballard -

Quality over quantity. That's all I have to say. Did you read what I wrote? Fred has ALWAYS been a great RB for us. It's not like he became an overnight success. Fred was the reason we were able to let go of Marshawn and there were other areas of need that year. Considering how great Fred's been for us, why did we need to take a RB with a top 10 pick? Kinda sad that Ben Tate has almost outproduced CJ Spiller his entire career despite being taken a whole round later, and having only played one season while playing behind one of the best RBs in the league right now Arian Foster. In 1 year of play, Tate has managed 1,040 yds and 4 TDs in just one season and starting just 2 games whereas Spiller has started 12 games in 2 seasons and has 1,270 yds and 7 TDs.
