Bills dominating turnover differential - BIG time
Dragonborn10 replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fumbles are as much chance as they are good play simply based on the issue of who recovers the ball. Bills got lucky on the fumbled PR. Our plyaer was OOB. But Oakland was just as luck to recover the KO. INTs on the other hand is a sign of good defense. Just get a little better pass rush. And the turnovers will keep coming. -
Matt Milano starting LB from here on out?
Dragonborn10 replied to The Now Moment's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whren Humber is healthy, Lorax goes to the bench. Lorax can back-up Lawson at DE and play special teams. Both Milano and Humber, hell even my whipping boy Preston Brown are all playing better than Lorax. -
Nice move by coaches to get him involved early. I'm surprised he did not get a play action opportunity in the second half. It would be hard to overstate how bad he was for the first 6 games. Worst catch % in the league. That is different than calling him a bust. He was playing poorly and if they had better options he would have sat. Hopefully this game will springboard into something better.

No it would be Sammy for TY and Gaines. TY is under contract for three more years. TY is a proven WR. A second round pick next year is a lottery and does nothing to help this year. That said, I think a third and a 5th get it done.

Fitz and Gailey got exposed. Teasm played short zone defense most of the end of the year. They just sat between 3-10 yards off the LOS and Fitz and the short passing game went to crap.

Thoughts On The Game With a Non-Vague Title
Dragonborn10 replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes 7 yards and second and 3 -
Bad game for the refs. Phantom OPI on Mathews was terrble call. Hughes was mugged most of the game. Hold on Richie was iffy - looked more like a pancake block than a hold. They also missed Bills player out of bounds before recovering the ball. That should have been Raiders ball but not enough on reply to overturn.

He played well. He led with his helmet at least three times. Could have ben called a couple times. He needs to clean that up. Otherwise he looked ok. Maybe safety depth is not so bad.

So much for the TT doesnt throw over the middle myth. TT executing the west coast offense well so far. Need to hit some play action passes and keep running it -
This offseason Quarterback options

QB is far from the biggest need for this team going into 2018. Best case Dareus continues to play well and coaches keep him. That allows them to address WR, RT(still unclear if Dawkins is the RT of the future), DB(Gaines will be a FA), OLB(Lorax will be gone after this year), and depth needed at S, LB, WR, and DL We should feel lucky TT is playing so well given the lack of talent at other spots and pending FAs -
The Last Play against the Bucs - illegal?
Dragonborn10 replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only affects balls fumbled forward and I think only in the last minutes of the game though that rule may have changed to the entire game. Yes a lateral is a live ball. A Bill could have scooped it up and scored. As an aside, has anyone seen the injury to Poyer? Was it a dirty hit? How did he get injured? -

TT is the QB next year. If he keeps playing this well they will not waste a first round pick to trade up. That would be GM suicide. I would draft WR, LB, OL, and QB with the top 4 picks in no particular order. I see nothing wrong with adding a QB early next year unless Peterman has looked good in practice and is a true viable option if TT misses time. -
I think you are misremembering Jauron. His players liked him and played hard for him. They respected him. Even TO respected him. The comparison is as someone else put it, fairly conservative, "It's hard to win in the NFL speak (McD said it in the PC yesterday), rely on good defense and don't turn the ball over. McD is a bit more aggressive with the FG attempts from distance and trying to score before the half. That is called winning in the NFL. Most teams have a turnover a game, a missed FG or XP, and not every drive results in points. If they had blown a 28 point lead and won the game on a missed FG late in the game that would be getting away with one Won't pay a nickel to read his stuff. You can read archives for the last ten years, they are all the same

Tre'Davious White negativity...

He has a short memory. He needs to dial down the I would have cost the team the game talk just a bit. He will give up scores. They all do. He looks like he has the makings of a great DB. -
I'm sure there is a Zay thread
Dragonborn10 replied to jumbalaya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Too soon to call him a bust. He appears to be getting open which is harder to do in the NFL. His issue is he came from a small school and needs to be WR #3 or 4 to learn the NFL game. Instead he is being asked to be the #1. Too much too soon. Second half catches were good. Hopefully more to come. Like many posters said on here. Give him a WR screen or let him run a reverse early in the game to calm him down. -
I would take Bryant for 10 games and the playoffs for a 5th round pick that has a 20% chance of being in the NFL after year 3.
-
I didn't. Just pointed out the turnovers. In fact, I would argue it is easier to decrease the interceptions than it will be for Tyrod to keep evolving as a passer. JW is the real deal. Better than I thought coming out of college.

Saw many posts in the game thread to the effect of "See what a real QB can do" He did play great at times and looks like a solidly above average QB. He threw for nearly 400 yards but had a pick and two other picks dropped. TT goes for 268, made some good plays with his feet, avoided at least two sure sacks, and no turnovers. Hell he even caught the ball for Zay twice. I will take 268 an no picks all the way to the playoffs

Go back and read the game feed. Most thought the game was over after the McCoy fumble. I posted, it was time for TT to show up against a bad Tampa defense. I would say I was at best 50/50 thinking he could.

Dareus got a ton of snaps today. He played a bunch of third downs as well. Either he is getting in the godo graces of the coaches or they were showcasing him for a trade like they did with Watkins. He was ok today. Doubled quite a bit. Made no great plays. A few runs stuffs he didn't get credit for by the announcers. Still he had some one-one opportunities and he did not collapse the pocket. That said, the entire DL played poorly today.

Add pass to Jones and McCoy on final two drives.
