  1. Should fund a killer analytics department.
  2. He'll play again. Hate to sound like a cliche, but I will anyway: The dude is a winner. He took a crappy Broncos team to the second round of the playoffs. He may not be a good QB, but he finds ways to win, and is exciting to watch. He beat the freaking Steelers in the playoffs. There are plenty of prototypical QBs who finish their careers at .500. I'll take a scrappy .750 bawler with bad form any day of the week over the former. Listen to Chuck Norris. His wisdom will guide you.
  3. Only ham sandwiches with mayo offend me. Southerners love them. They even put mayo on Italian hoagies, which is an affront to good taste.
  4. We're approaching a PC slippery slope where in the future, much more will be offensive 10 years from now. The Buffalo Bills? The slaughter of bison. The NY Jets? The glorification of U.S. military hegemony or violence against other nationalities. Let's pick nouns, and vote on them to find the 32 most inoffensive names for all races, creeds, sexes and whatever else category people fall into. The Buffalo Balloons? There we go. The NY Jelly Rolls? Shouldn't get a rise. This nonsense is only going to get worse. When we're done with the race thing, it'll be something else, I promise. .... And, by the way, Indians, aka redskins, in the context of football, implies the warrior spirit, as does Viking. IT IS NOT intended to be a slur. Vikings raped and pillaged. But that's not apparently offensive to rape victims, because it doesn't have the magical connotation to ethnicity or race, only nationality. It's a superficial barrier that PC types put up, and keep changing. Will nationality nicknames be offensive next? Knicks? Canadians? Etc. Etc. Etc. I agree with Like a Mofo. The name will eventually change, despite the owner's promise, as will other names.
  5. It's the recording and publishing of said crank call that is of issue.
  6. The OP's comments are not racist, context or not. And what the hell is wrong with liking fried chicken or watermelon? I have both in the fridge. They're freaking delicious. Racism is the belief your race is superior. To make a crack about watermelon, and race, is nothing more than stereotyping. It doesn't make you a raaccisst. This word literally has no meaning anymore. To say someone came from the hood is no different than saying someone came from a trailer park. it's not nice. But it is what it is.
  7. Bruce Lee was a showman. Chuck Norris was a true fighter.
  8. They have Ralph Wilson at 51? The guy needs a walker for crying out loud.
  9. Genesis 51: "Chuck Norris broketh The Serpent into two, fashioning it into a fashionable pair of boots. Then Chuck Norris invented the roundhouse kick."
  10. The Bible has it wrong. On the Seventh Day, God created Chuck Norris.
  11. Chuck Norris would be most displeased by comments from some posters here. I say "would" because no one -- living -- has ever seen Chuck Norris displeased.
  12. Good grief -- you don't know anything. Chuck Norris doesn't stick to karate. Karate sticks to Chuck Norris.
  13. Watching Dick Jauron knit a sweater would be a lot more interesting.
  14. The pyramids would be just about finished -- today -- if unions were involved.
  15. The purpose of a business is to make money for stockholders, not to employ people. It's a cold fact of life. But the alternative system is far worse. That said, I echo nearly everyone else: ESPN is near unwatchable.
  16. What the report didn't say is that there are no PEDs left in WNY due to Merriman buying them all up. STDs? Another story.
  17. I'm glad you didn't ask his opinion on North Korea. Great comments on Goodwin, etc. Thanks for the share.
  18. I expect an exciting offense, and an aggressive defense. For that I am excited. But I have no expectations of a lot of Ws. Last year's team in the offseason looked hella good...and we were terrible. Complete coaching overhaul, new systems on both sides, a lot of rookies, likely a lot of mistakes...likely a similar record. But yeah, I am excited. I was last year too. I've learned, as most here have, to temper expectations after 13 years of drought.
  19. Not nasty. Just spirited banter in the offseason.
  20. Fixed. Commonly-accepted style is to capitalize the first word after a colon if the phrase can be used as a full sentence. And what he meant to say was everything, except one, was correct. But even that was intended to show the absurdity of bashing someone's spoken English, which often doesn't translate well to paper. Mr. Tolstoy, who professes to be a writing instructor or something, is living in a 1950s 4th grade grammar class. People who get paid to write for a living do pretty much everything opposite of what he says.
  21. Last season, he also predicted the Bills as "upsets" in the AFC East. To be fair, we were all upset. So maybe he'll be right this time.
  22. That poster was making a point about ripping others for their grammar while the rippers making multiple mistakes themselves. But yeah, the poster shoulda known better. One R. WTF was he thinking?
  23. For the love of all that's holy, can we stop double spacing between sentences? And starting sentences with conjunctions is done by every professional writer I know. Anyone who says otherwise learned English in an ESL class.
