  1. It was the plays toward the end of the game that mattered most. The rocket passes to Sammy and Hogan. The quick thinking and fast reflexes. Not to mention EJ played 4 games and contributed to our lowly offensive rank. If Orton had those four games instead of EJ our offense would have been Top 8-10. This
  2. I've been through with a son and a daughter. It's a miserable time. And I didn't put you in any of those categories so relax.
  3. I can appreciate how you've considered all the stats, history, character, community support...I say Orton falls somewhere between Favre and Marino in terms of all time greats and the other traits referenced above. But I'm not there yet on putting him in Canton. What I fail to comprehend, though, is why he can't find a place on New Era's Wall of Fame. I guess guys want to wait for the messiah some draft year but what those TBD members fail to appreciate is we had the Messiah here three years ago and we ran him out of town. I guess we can't have nice things.
  4. You're in the category of "If it doesn't involve wine, cheese or pork belly, I'm not interested". Hoping you don't have to go through it. It sucks.
  5. Make fun all you want but no one disproved my theory.
  6. Do you mind if I copy and paste this to the original post? These are the types of criteria that matter (not sure OJ ever did these types of charitable acts and his ass is up there).
  7. This is an interesting thread and I can tell whose kids have been bullied, whose haven't, and who have no !@#$ing idea what they're talking about.
  8. Isn't Cordy Glenn the guy with one kidney?? I wonder if he has unhealthy amounts of salt deposits in his feet causing discomfort.
  9. What is this repetitive argument about his slide short of 1st down marker?? The behind the scenes story I heard from a coaching source who was there said that Marrone was yelling from the sideline "Get down! Get down!" and Orton followed his coaches advice. Now I don't know why Marrone told him to get down at that moment (one yard short of the first down) but he couldn't disregard his coach's directions. So that's another feather in Orton's cap...listens and executes the play calling and coaching.
  10. The Wall of Fame is nothing to joke about. Neither is our only winning season in 15+ years. I guess some guys here don't recognize who made that possible. I would have left town too judging from the vitriole demonstrated in this thread for a guy who was nothing more than a professional doing his job...and he did it quite well.
  11. I already answered this. When Tyrod throws for 4100 yards, 26 or so TD's, gets us a winning season and garners the support of a community as a leader both on and off the field, then yes - he will have the same qualities as KO and should go on the wall.
  12. ...and I already proved above that Orton's efficiency and potency as a passer (yardage) improved as the season progressed so with EJ's games (which our coaches deprived Orton of) would have gotten him off to a great start with even better stats than what he already crushed. I honestly don't get the criticism of Orton or the conclusory statement that he doesn't deserve recognition as a fame-worthy candidate.
  13. Tom Brady and Brett Favre would disagree. Peyton Manning too.
  14. If he throws for 4200 in a season like Orton did (should have if he played EJ's four games) yes.
  15. I think he's right to a certain extent. Racism is a preconceived notion about another based on religious or outward appearances without considering the background or achievements of that individual in a setting. Honestly, the Orton hate is real and not really racist but borders on it. What did Orton do to deserve this hate other than give us the taste of success we have been clammoring for well over 16 years?
  16. Not saying he belongs in Canton. But it is called the "Wall of FAME" for a reason. "Fame" as in famous, well known, recognized for positive contributions. I would say having a winning season in the midst of a 17 year drought is the very definition of fame. You disagree. I respect that but his contribution to this team was a beacon of hope during a rather gloomy period of our franchise.
  17. That's exactly what I've been saying. Even if you calculate an additional four games (wasted on EJ) and then re-extrapolate back to the Thad, Trent and Kolb years, you can conservatively assign Orton 4200 yds passing per season and anywhere from 25-30 TDs with 200-300 yds rushing. The fact that our front office failed to play him for those seasons between 2010-2013 isn't his fault. Guys here are just attacking him for having better stats during the last 15 years than any other team leader we've had at the helm.
  18. Foot problems again? Julio Jones, Edelman and another guy all have foot problems. The curse of Rex.
  19. A poll is similar to watching a Progressive Insurance commercial. You say "I hate this commercial" and switch channels. By asking you to analyze the stats, you can't logically disagree with my argument unless you don't like ONE winning season in the midst of a sandstorm of mediocrity and failure. So there's the point: either say Yes or No based on our success for that season in 2014 (and keep in mind what we could have had if Orton started week one instead of EJ).
  20. I see some TBD members have come around. Thanks Kidd and Rob....and Linen.
