five interceptions two sacks and three forced fumbles sixty nine games played --- peace out quitner

I'd take Mays. He's fallen off track, but the guy was blessed with a lot of talent - so there is at least SOME chance he could be good, and that's more than you can say for some people.

Good riddance. All he was good for was building up a fanbase among mindless Twitter followers.

Donte say's his heart is in Buffalo

not saying there is something wrong with that, just saying he's not a feared hitter whatsoever. if he was halfway decent in coverage he'd be a pretty good player. as is he's not terrible, i think he's a starting caliber safety in the NFL, just among the bottom half. -

big hitting safeties time their hits and crack a receiver when they are most vulnerable, and tiptoe the line of personal fouls. they dizzy guys up and make them think twice. donte is poor in coverage and decent in run support. he is a good tackler in run support, but more of a sure tackler than a guy that's going to force a lot of fumbles or deliver a concussion or anything. -

lol no. not even a little bit. how often do you see him absolutely blow somebody up? he is not even remotely a feared hitter in this league. -
And why exactly AREN'T the Bills in a position to be overpaying for an above average tight end? There is still some money to be spent, they need help there, and would have to overpay to land him. The are basically the DEFINITION of being in a position to overpay a bit for an above average tight end. Boss would be a nice addition.

No offseason = more people out of shape = more injuries around the league.

Well the did draft Watkins at OL in the first round, and with Cromartie and Asomugha they will be able to load the box more often. -

Let's bring him in and give him a shot, and see if we can get Langston Walker back, too. BAM - bookend tackles. -
Eagles Biggest WInners So Far?
NaPolian8693 replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's true, but what happens if Brady goes out? Or Manning goes out? Or any other top shelf QB for that matter? I mean, it helps to have a decent backup, but you can't compete for a Super Bowl without a premier QB no matter what. Vick is more of an injury risk, but they seem to be loading up and going for it all this year and just hoping he stays healthy - which honestly seems like a pretty good approach to me. -
There have been a lot of moves, but it seems to me the Eagles are CRUSHING IT right now. They landed the biggest free agent of all in Nnamdi. They traded Kolb for Rodgers-Cromartie and a 2nd rounder - those two make an amazing pair of corners. They brought in Cullen Jenkins, and Vince Young as a backup. They can probably just have Plex if they so desire. The Eagles have to be considers the "biggest winners" since football resumed, right? Who else do you think is doing well for themselves?

You don't think Revis can check Evans!? You must be trolling, because even the most delusional or casual fan can't possibly that completely clueless. -

Nothing you want to happen is going to happen in free agency. Don't spaz about it. I don't know why this is a surprise to anyone. The Bills haven't been aggressive in free agency since Donahoe, that's just how they are. Also, no one comes to Buffalo if they have any other options. This argument has been done a million times, but the bottom line is that it's not an attractive destination and the team ends up having to overpay middle of the road talent that is more interested in a fat payday than winning. I hope I'm wrong and they do something splashy, but I don't expect it. They had a good draft this year and they want to build from within. The Bills aren't going anywhere this year anyways - they couldn't win the NFC west, so of course they have no playoff shot in a division with the Jets and Patriots. Hopefully they are able to sign some project guys with upside, and one of them turns into something decent, and also flesh out the roster with a couple bottom tier but starting caliber players. If they build it, they will come. Until then, expect more of the same. The draft got them going in a better direction, but it's still a long road ahead. Get into a mindset where your hope is that you simply see some overall improvement from last year, and some individual player growth. (I posted this in a couple thread already, but I originally just started a thread with this post and it got locked for some reason so I'm posting it around in other threads that are allowed to exist.) -

The Bills never make a big splash in free agency. This has been the case since Donahoe. If their lack of activity surprises you, I can only assume you haven't been paying much attention over the years. Yah, it's frustrating, but that's just how it is. -

Whitner Tweets: Thinks he's gone?
NaPolian8693 replied to scribo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whitner is a decent player. He's not a stud and he's not a bust. He never lived up to his high draft status, but if the Bills had taken him in the third round I think everyone would regard him as a good value pick at this point. He's just kind of lower-middle of the road. He's miles away from an elite safety, but he's not the worst starting safety in the league, either. -
Round 4 (Pick 122): OT Chris Hairston - Clemson
NaPolian8693 replied to Sisyphean Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
http://www.sbnation.com/2011-nfl-draft/2011/4/30/2144850/nfl-draft-2011-round-4-best-available-players-remaining Hairston was listed among the top 10 remaining prospects entering the day by some people. Also he put up 33 reps at the combine, which was elite amongst tackles, so he is strong as an ox. -
BOOOM Hairston FTW! Noice.
