it's called having watched the games without having one's head down in Flutie's crotch.. He deserves plenty of credit for 1998 and for some games in 1999, but to say he played well throughout the bulk of the 1999 season is laughable to say the least

Explain to me why a QB would tuck the ball and run with it when he has a WR wide open. There were a lot of times that Andre or Moulds were downfield wide open that Flutie tucked the ball and ran for a few yards. Most of those drives ended in punts and they could've been easy TDs. That's the problem that Flutie had for a good chunk of that season...mostly in the middle...he started playing better later in the year before he was benched.

Actually, the first reports that came out about the Bills being interested in TO said that Jauron was big on the idea of signing TO. So Mort's been incorrectly reporting on it from the start..ignoring reports that came out before ESPN got in on it. (Mort's had a history of being wrong...he reported that Jim Kelly was going to play for Pittsburgh in 1997) Here's my question, Tim. If TO starts up his antics early with us, it would likely negate anything he can add on the field. But regardless of how he acts, do you think national media attention will be increased for the season by very much? It does seem that national media attention on the Bills has been lacking for the last few years and it's been speculated that the reason for the TO signing is partly to create a buzz and more interest in the team as well as improvement in the offense.

I can understand having TO for a season...he's generally stayed out of trouble his first year with a team. The second year and beyond is filled with turmoil that causes problems on the field both while he's with the team and after he's gone. No way in hell should he return in 2010. We'll think that 7-9 seasons look good if that happens
