Can people really be this stupid?
The_Philster replied to The_Philster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
nothing stupid about not liking the Pro Bowl...just a matter of taste...stupid is thinking that the most violent of the major sports should hold a meaningless game in the middle of the season skills competitions could be a different story because there's no contact...but you also run into the chance of putting wear and tear on a QB's arm, etc by doing that midseason. They've already said they were going to cut back on Trent's practice reps next season because his arm got too worn out this season -

personally, I think the Pro Bowl is kinda fun to watch...just can't take it as a serious game. The fumblerooski play this year was funny -
anyone who boos in Canton should be drawn and quartered. Besides the fact that his past contributions to the league as a whole should outweigh people's ire about him keeping Jauron, Canton is not the place for it and would reflect badly on us as Bills fans

First we have this gem http://www.buffalonews.com/opinion/columns...ory/586644.html Obviously this is someone doesn't know football as much as he claims..the NFL is too violent a league for an all-star game to be held midseason. Too much risk of injury and as far as using it for a Bye week, players (and their coaches) actually utilize their bye week to recuperate from the aches and pains of playing. Let's also consider the fact that the networks pay for 17 weeks of regular season football. Then we have this http://www.buffalonews.com/opinion/columns...ory/586643.html This person really thinks little of the people of Buffalo...first in insulting the way we live and then by saying that we'd actually continue to follow them if they left The Buffalo News really needs to screen their letters better

yeah...funny how stupid it was

Bills are going after Fred Taylor
The_Philster replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
agreed...Antowain Smith had a promising rookie season and, if not for the incompetence of Bishop Harris, would've carried the rock for us for many years Tavian Banks -

you DO know that Taylor wasn't the only player picked up with the draft picks we traded away for Johnson, of course -
kinda rooting for Gronkowski...besides the fact he's from Williamsville, I know his gf...lol

well...some of us are actually Bills fans here -
We gave up 2 draft picks, actually...Tavian Banks was the other guy that Jax picked up with our draft picks...been out of the league since being cut by the Saints prior to the 2004 season

As soon as they drafted Leodis, the writing was on the wall that Jabari was gone this year. It's the way this organization has dealt with the CB position since the last years of the Super Bowl era. Draft a CB in the first round one year, play him at nickel that first year, then take over for the free agent departure the next year. Thomas Smith replaced Nate Odomes...Burris for Mickey Washington...Winfield for Smith...Clements for Irvin...McGee for Winfield...Youboty was expected to be the successor to Clements but it wound up being Webster, Youboty, and then Greer. The only time in that period that they did anything different was when Ken Irvin replaced the outgoing Jeff Burris. As some may recall, Irvin and Marlon Kerner were the pair of CBs drafted in the midrounds of 1995...both of them proved to be solid selections but if not for 2 ACL injuries, I think Kerner would've gotten that starting job that Irvin got. I remember telling McGee to expect 2006 to be Nate's last season with us after we drafted Youboty (McGee and Stamer were at the Jills Congrats Party the 1st night of the draft)

Chris and Rihanna the next Bobby and Whitney?
The_Philster replied to H2o's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Supposedly he cheated on her too http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/the_awful_...wn_cheated.html Can you say brain-dead? Why the hell would you even consider cheating on her? Cheating is bad enough but you'd think that when you cheat on someone, you're trading up...Rihanna is one of the hottest women on the planet...how do you trade up from that? -

Looking for tips & help about going to Canton
The_Philster replied to gsurdam's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another great restaurant is The Stables...just a little ways from the Hall, it used to be owned by Chris Spielman. Football jerseys and helmets all over the place...and they have pretty good wings, too -
The guy's an idiot...for one, losing 1 game a season is too much...4 games is beyond reason...especially when the Ralph is great as it is. Then you have the name change garbage...they don't call the Giants and the Jets the East Rutherford Giants and Jets...we give those teams a lot of grief for playing in NJ, but they are named for the major metropolis they play closest to...this guy wants to name the Bills after a river or county? And yeah, Niagara County is in NY State but it's still in a different county. Does this moron really think Erie County will give up the team without a fight?

I'd say ignore the troll but trolls don't make posts that stupid. Quite frankly, I think posts like that should be grounds for banning...the whole purpose of the post is to piss off Bills fans

Like I said, Motel 6 in North Canton....prices might've gone up after the announcements look at the time of the thread...several hours before the announcement was made...besides Bruce and Ralph, we had some other guy who wore Lee Evans' number in the finals -
fixed your last line They either don't have a clue about what he's done for the league or are the diaper-wearing types who made claims like "since Ralph didn't do what I wanted him to do, he's trying to lose" when Ralph kept Jauron
-
If you have to question Ralph's credentials for the Hall, then I would have to suggest you educate yourself on what he's done for the league over the past 50 years...there's a lot that he brought to the league that people with your tunnel vision are missing. Read Felser's book "The Birth of the New NFL" for just a taste of what he did for the AFL-NFL merger. Regarding a few points Wade essentially quit. First by saying we were out of the playoff run when we clearly weren't and then, more blatantly, by refusing to fire Ronnie Jones. Ralph ordered him to fire that joke of a special teams coach or else. Wade walked away and Ralph fired Jones himself. Polian...Ralph didn't fire him because he couldn't stand success...he fired him because he was fighting with other people in the organization...Polian reportedly had problems playing with others in Carolina as well As far as Polian's pupils, there was only one that was fired...John Butler...who had made it pretty clear that he had no intention of coming back after the 2000 season. His wife wanted to leave Buffalo, he had mangled the salary cap, and he refused to even talk about a contract extension. (All Ralph did was let him out of his contract a few weeks early, anyway) The league has been in existence since 1920...the HOF came 43 years later...so it's not like all these players that are going in were drafted in the same year by any means
