  1. But seriously. I wouldn’t give one to Allen today. Klein Poyer Davis Tre The RB group (neither were stand out on their own) Honorable mention Edmunds and the OL minus Winters. He was embarrassed today. Best player on the field today was Bosa and it wasn’t close.
  2. For the millionth time, you can’t do that. The Jets are 0-5 on the road and 0-5 at home. If you vacate their home loses because you think they’re an anomaly, you have to vacate their road losses (which are other teams home wins) because of the same anomaly. The math has to be the same through the entire equation So you’ve taken 5 wins and 5 losses away. Effectively leaving you in the same exact spot. I would be curious to see home W-L for teams with vs. teams without fans. Maybe even broken down between the teams that have +/- 15k in stadium, or whatever the marker is. But I would guess (not sure) that there is minimal home field advantage in 2020. Vegas has moved the line for home teams from -3 to about -.5 depending on the situation.
  3. Clearly your post didn’t have anything to do with Allen or DS. But your post is conceptually flawed. I was trying to help create an analogy/metaphor to help you understand why people were kicking back on it. But... that clearly didn’t work. So I’ll just jump on with everybody else, you can’t take 20% of the league and just toss their home games because they are bad. Two reasons, one, it is too much of a percentage of the sample size. Two, their away games are somebody else’s home games, which would have to be tossed out as well. The 6 teams you listed account for about 62 games. You can’t just toss all results for that many games and then say, “see, now my point is accurate”
  4. If they’re bad teams (and they are), and their home W-L don’t count then neither would their road losses in another home teams win. You’d effectively be removing about 60 games at the moment from the data set....which is wild. To everybody's point here, you can’t just rip 60 games from the data and then say “see, I told you this is true” To put it in Bills terms; you feel like you’re saying “If you take out Singletarys 2 carries for 40 yards, he was only 8 for 16, that’s really concerning” But what you actually did was go back to Josh’s rookie year and say if you pull out all the bad throws/games he was really tremendous.
  5. Actually yes...this year. With about 9 minutes left in the KC game he was something like 9/22 and 66 yards. That was nearly a 3.5 quarter effort.
  6. Oh I agree with everything you said. I am not saying I do not get why his name is being brought up, I do. Also not trying to give credit/take anything away from Allen's improvement. I would just want to see more success/consistency, making sure this is not a flash before I would hand him the keys to my franchise.
  7. Anything that can hold a major network camera crew will work. Cal Berkley is much closer. That would be my guess. Easiest move. Unsure what the college stadium situation is like in Sacramento. LA works at 5-6 hours away. So does the University of Oregon at 8 hours. My money is on Cal.
  8. If I were an NFL owner I would need to see a lot more from Daboll at the moment. The offense is drastically improved this year, but just from a results stand point this is an anomaly in his career production. A second year showing the same consistency in passing attack and revamping the run game in the offseason, and I would be willing to pull the trigger.
  9. Hell, this season alone the chargers have not lost by more than a single possession. If 538 was a betting line I would jump on the Chargers to cover all day.
  10. NFL is closing all team facilities Monday and Tuesday out of precaution. https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1332499931274371072?s=20
  11. I just added him on LinkedIn and he accepted. Can I start posting gibberish too now?
  12. I actually really liked the “one man optical illusion. He is whatever you choose to see” line. It’s probably the best description of the last 2 years of Allen’s career. I don’t think there is a ton of debate on how well he has performed when you look at the season as a whole. In regards to the Mahomes trade. I think this story uses some more aggressive language, but we’ve known for a while that Whaley and Co wanted either Mahomes or Watson. It’s been covered since draft day.
  13. Straight up....? It would have to be another QB. Probably only Russ and Mahomes. Rodgers is better right now but probably doesn’t have a ton of time left.
  14. People are overlooking this Chargers team because of their record and preseason expectations. But their largest loss is 8 points to Miami and 7 points to Tampa. Every other loss has been 4 points or less. They are a good team who is figuring out how to close out games and we have a difficult time in the 3rd Quarter. This match up is actually not great for Buffalo. They are both teams who play a lot of incomplete games, Buffalo is just further along in their process than LA at the moment. Who ever plays the more complete game will win. Given our third quarter woes, I would not be so quick say us, let alone winning out.
  15. I am not concerned that it is the top priority, per se. They should absolutely keep working on increasing its production because it is an absolute weakness. I would have my doubts that they could reinvent our ground game with a week off, when they have had 10 weeks to improve it. I think time is probably better spent finding a way to mitigate it. They should absolutely try and make the run game better, but I think they also have to own their identity or strength at the moment. So how do we find a way to do what we do well in those tough running situations when we absolutely need that production. We could help make their run game with a better screen game, which is meh at the moment. Also super unsure why we don't see much of Allen under center with a 3 step drop. Both of those things would help the run game and seem much more in line with the identity of the offense. ...or we could just smash our head against the wall and call ourselves a team that is committed to the run or whatever.
  16. Funny that the picture of Gore is still him in a Bills uniform with a Jets background. That franchise is really just a tire fire. They can't even get player photos right.
  17. I think I saw a stat line that the Chargers have not lost a game by more than a possession. I’m not looking past them at all.
  18. I am not sure bad coaching is "bringing this team down" I think they have done a good job of getting this team to where they are now. I a concerned at the long term struggles in the 3rd Quarter. Also, Bills have been in the top 10 in the league in 2018, 2019, and now 2020 being the 2nd worst in the league. Those two things are starting to become stickier for me with this staff.
  19. I saw that too. They dropped a similar stat during the game that Allen had a 67% chance of scoring (or whatever) once he caught the ball. I was like "How in the hell do you calculate that?". I am also not going to hate on Tre too bad on that last play. He was in a good position at the end of the game, even though he got out hopped. Poyer crushing him midair/mid catch basically ruined any chances of a PBU. Maybe he gets breaks it up (his hands were right there!) maybe he doesn't. But he was in the best spot to do so and Poyer came in and did the opposite to help. What a bummer, I won't hate on it too bad because Poyer is having an all pro year. Chris Simms on his Sunday wrap up showed the NextGen play break down. Siran Neal sticks with Fitz way too long even though Edmunds has decent coverage. Trey played safe and over top and did fine. Not sure why they didn't use Neal at the line on Hopkins to knock him off the route a little? He could have pressed him off the line and released him to Tre and still covered Fitz on the crosser. If he does that, I am not sure Kyler tries to roll left to reset. Hell, I am not sure he can at that point. Hopkins would have been a bit short on the route and I am not sure Kyler would have had the time to make that throw in the endzone at that point. Keyshawn today basically said you just rip Hopkins to the ground and dare the ref to call PI. He said they never will in that situation so just mug him. haha
  20. They need to add a speedier back, which is fine. I am a little annoyed that we have used 2 3rds and still need to go find ANOTHER guy...and what, split carries 3 ways now? Also, I cannot believe we still don't have a serious answer as to why Yeldon is not allowed to play on Sundays. If I were a beat reporter, I would ask every single presser. Not that Yeldon is a speedster, but he has been productive for us when literally nobody has been.
  21. I thought the same thing. It was well after the play. Dude was pulling up. DS didn't just bump him, he dropped his shoulder and his head and popped him a little. Not flagrant, but not the worst call by any stretch. Agreed here. I will check briefly after a game to see if there is anything I missed that was glaring. But otherwise this is my go to post game read. It was the same when Bill did his write ups. You have taken the torch more than admirably.
  22. Simms showed the next gen replay. Tre was actually left alone on Hopkins. Hyde covered him over top but came late and covered ground. No insult to Tre but you don’t leave Hop 1v1 in that situation. Or if you do it is somebody jamming him at the line with Tre picking him up after the release. Also Fitz was double covered underneath? But Poyer laying out Tre sealed that catch.
  23. Right, and in addition to meeting 2 starting DL, the secondary is weak. I think we should run the ball more than twice in a half for sure. But conceptually, it looks like their D might have a tough time slowing us down, so many not take advantage of it.
