  1. One word- Trentedwards I think its amazing how people thought TO was good when he played here, and that SJ is so awesome. Both had good years only when fitz came in. Trent ruined 3 years of football by constantly dumping the ball off. How was lee supposed to catch those? Its obvious now even to the myopic haters that trent was a total disaster as a QB, but when Fitz took over, lee got hurt after id say5 games. No one knew SJ was even half way decent at that point and Fitz found him single covered by the second or 3rd CB so ya, he caught some balls. Lee never had a fair shake here and then got hurt again in Baltimore. HE WAS ABOUT AN INCH AWAY FROM A SUPER BOWL BIRTH and had he completed that catch, what would you all have said then? Catch or no catch, he was an inch away from putting that toe down and going to the show. I think its fair to say if someone is still getting open and making plays in the playoffs, hes still good. ( you all think easley is good, he only played well in preseason, lee had 4-5 playoff catches) I think this year will tell us alot about the real Lee evans and who is right...lets just wait and see. You cant prove much when you dont play. Admit it, you were all starting to say spiller was a bust until he got some more playing time. No one saw SJ as a starter 3 years ago much less a prized free agent wed be praying would re-sign. It takes opportunity to show greatness and Lee had his stolen by crappy QBing.
  2. i think harvin is more talented than stevie, lee was considered muchmore talented than stevie until he got old and had bad seasons due to injuries and trent edwards. He got more money and was a first round pick and had way better hands. Rice was a HOF because he had all the tools, not the fastest but stil fast enough and faster than stevie id wager. So your argument then is that route running is the most important skill? funny i never see small slow guys go first in the draft then. I do see it constantly stated that these tall fast guys need to improve their "route running"...translation=it doesnt matter too much because they are still getting paid and picked first. Kind of like a RB that doesnt pass block well, its last on the list, not first. Stevie literally lives off his route running, but it is definitly the least important of the skills a WR can have. I lose no credibilty just because you dont agree. eball wouldnt his numbers go down if another threat emerges? wont more targets go to the other guy, like when reed had to play with moulds or quinn early came and they stole about half the production away from him?
  3. I did! TO was a horrible reciever for us, he cost us games when he wouldnt fight for simple slants that became INT's, and how many teams ditched him? how do you know it wasnt in part do to poor hands? I always heard that about him and didnt care until i saw it w my own eyes. Having good hands is pretty important in the business of WR. HAHA "elite route runner" probably the least sought after tool in the WR toolbox. I know its important but any guy with half a brain can be an elite route runner. Its the guys w hands speed and size that are considered elite. I think elite route runners are also called possession receivers. whats next, "elite high motor guy","elite dump-off passer"?
  4. then you vote that slot that says floyd or blackmon, i think its pretty clear thats the WR choice and either one has about the same chance of being there. its not a floyd or blacmon thread, its more a who do you pick out of the most likely BPA's available or rieff.
  5. and this is why we want to resign F jackson? guys can be fast at 31, how long did lofton chris carter and jerry rice stay fast? i think they went a bit farther than 31. I did forget about gabbert, so yes he will probably have s&*^%^y numbers but if he starts all season and has say 5+ tds and say 800 yards...wouldnt this qualify as a comeback? its definitely not being "done"
  6. thats why stevies a true #2, donald is a true #4, and easley is just plain MIA. if we dont get floyd we will have a team of second rate receivers.
  7. hes finished? I predict a come back year, but i guess you need to think hes finished to feel better about not having him.
  8. looks like more people would take richardson over reiff, but the board is making it clear, WR is the top choice
  9. well you just agreed with me then, and didnt refute any of my other points i noticed, I said on 20 teams SJ would be the clear number 2, then you named 11 where he would be the clear #1, but you also had to pick the teams with the worst WR corps, which doesnt mean stevies a "true" #1, it just means hed be the number one by default on the teams with SH*^%y receivers. and lets all stop pretending the term "true 1" doesnt exist. If it didnt, we wouldnt be having this argument. A "true 1" means a top talent guy that would flourish with any system and any QB. it means hes a combination of 1.hands 2.size and 3.speed and also being clutch and savy. Stevie has the savy and a little of the size part. Hes not fast and definitly not clutch, his hands are suspect too. who can even argue that isnt the cold hard truth? what spectacular catches? this is the part the stats really dont tell, SJ has good stats but i never see SJ "go up and get it" or flat out burn people. I see alot of slants and crosses, possession type stuff. hes also great after the catch but I have yet to see him make some "spectacular catches" which is why Ive never been sold on him as a top level guy. I think hes making a living off being a highly unorthodox route runner and being strong enough to shed some tackles that raise his YPC. I dont see him doing the things other top WR do. Say going over the top of 2 defenders, blowing past the defense, or making toe tipping catches in the back of the endzone, to me thats "spectacular"
  10. "hahahahhaha" <----- stupid, anyway, every year there are a 3 or 4 different recievers who get close to or above 1500 yards, my point is, when stevie can do that just once, then maybe we could consider him a true 1, like say 15 or so other guys in the NFL, not 3. and being the only target is still no reason not to get 1000, its not like no one else caught the ball on this team. we ran a spread and threw him about 50 slants, wow! such production. who couldnt get a 1000 if they had been targeted so many times in a season for underneath stuff. and what about all my other points? you just ignore 99% of what ive said and then argue 1 small thing?, and even regarding that your still wrong. The NFL has 31 starting RB's, does that make them all premier guys? id say 15 or so are average and just the starter by default, I think "true 1" means a guy that is clearly the best guy on the team, as well as most any other team he would be put on. I think around 10 guys other than Calvin Johnson could go to almost any team and be the guy, SJ would be the number 2 on about 20 teams in this league if he were traded. so how did I make your point again? do you have anything inteligent to say besides HARR HARR HARRR you made my point...duhhhhhh" ? go ahead name the teams johnson would be the clear cut 1 on if traded there.
  11. jesus here we go again...why now do you bring this up???hes already signed, hes good, i like him, but lets grow up and not pretend our guys are better than they really are. Heres my take on all the childish points I hear promoting SJ as a"true 1" 1. back to back 1000 yard seasons! yippee f ing do! i guess reed moulds and evans all sucked then. Oh and steve largent who never had a 1000 yard season once i think. 1000 yards is no big deal it usually has to do with being injured or not and being a #1 target, which SJ definitely was. how bout a 1500 yard season like the real number 1 guys in the league? 2.Schooled Revis. yes he did for less than 100 yards and what, 1 TD? and a huge drop, oh and we lost the game, what a clutch number one he is. 3. He played good despite being the only real threat...thats so chicken vs egg, HE GOT ALL THE BALLS thrown his way, he was the number 1 read and had many more that he dropped or didnt get close to for being too slow. all those chances and still only had 70 something catches, thats weak. Id like to see how many balls hed get if we did have another threat, I think alot less if he got targeted less, which he would. Stevie is a true #2, why? hes slowish, average size, less than average hands, and immature oh and not clutch. Yes he gets open and yes he shows flashes, im not against him, but get off his jock already and lets call a duck a duck. Other big drops along with big penalties are the sign of a number 2 OR 3 OR 4 RECIEVER, or even a 7th round guy. When he lines up across from a real number 1 (floyd i hope) we will all see him flourish, as hell be more open and get more YAC. But most here think thats a myth, another threat could never possibly draw coverage away from someone. next year (if we draft floyd or blackmon)he will have more yards per catch but less catches IMO. like a true #2
  12. because your basically voting "WR" without getting into which ones better. alright i said no discussion, but as for richardson...in two years freds used up and old. Also if one gets hurt(which porbably one will)its ok to have 3....its ok to have 3 studs, i know thats hard for people to swallow but really, its ok. we could get a nice LT or WR in the second and have a kick a$$ running game and just throw less.
  13. No more discussion, vote! if all 5 were there who would you take? Its likely that at least 3 of them will be there.
  14. put your top three that should have been cut after thier first year but kept hanging on .... as starters! 3 Rob johnson 2 Chris Kelsay 1 kieth ellison...without a doubt a guy I thought would be cut every year.
  15. we had a great 3rd round running back named travis henry who was run out of town in three years for a less effective willis mcgahee. Mcgahee Played well enough for 3 years and then said Buffalo was boring, Buffalo ran him out of town in trade for a third rounder (the gutless douche bag) known as Trent edwards who started in buffalo for 3 of the worst years in bills history. The bills were forced to waste another 1st rounder on a much better character, Marshawn lynch, who quickly had three run ins with the law when he ran someone over, illegally carried weapons, and stole 20 dollars from me at a buffalo bar. This caused the Bills to draft another 1st rounder, CJ spiller who is entering his third year as marshawn lynch goes on to play at at a probowl level in his 6th year, and as mcgahee continues to be a starter in his 9th year....travis henry will finish his 3rd year in federal prison and has 12 children . it all comes back to the number 3 we should have just kept travis henry.
  16. you do not need to wait to see a picks value, thats not the point, lets say youre a GM and know a guy like SJ13 is good and a starter but wont go until the 7th, do you draft him in the first because "you just know"? If you really knew he was so great, you could trade your first for an extra second and third and fourth and 5th and then grab him in say round 5, just to be sure he doesnt get away. the picks have value regardless of where the guys are in 5 years, its about increasing overall picks and getting the guys you want with the lowest picks you have before theyre taken. Isnt it awesome when you dont trade up and a stud "falls" to you. its because other idiot teams drafted too much for need and left him sitting there. Does theyre passing mean "they knew something" or just that they went need? saying there is no value or such thing as reaching is like saying money has no value since its just paper, and its also why things go up in price because of a perceived "demand" when their value really didnt change. Its real.
  17. a reach is a real concept, lets say you choose a guy with a first rounder that could have been had in the 7th, you just wasted a pick that could have been traded for multiple picks in say the 7th 6th 5th 4rth etc. Any team would gladly trade their late picks for a first, so why "reach" to fill "need"? the entire concept of drafting for need is considered a losing strategy, if a team always went bpa no matter what, they would have an awesome team in 3 years or so, also if they followed the "value" chart and traded back for better value picks, then went bpa all the way, theyd be set in 3 years for sure. all hole could be filled by FA and there wouldnt be many period. the only reason teams dont go BPA is because they want to win now, or a coach is afraid of getting fired, or both. horrible post Promo, i thought you were smarter than that. your take is fully emotional, "we got the player we wanted so screw em!" it reminds of when a girl goes to buy a car and defends her decision by saying "i like the red one" isnt that special? Did she think long term? how about future FA and injuries that might occur? say you draft need and the guy gets hurt, now what? its best to have multiple players with talent and use a FA if someone is hurt or missing at a position.
  18. seriously i think he doesnt think much of stevie, who is a mid level guy, and stevie and fitz brought their A game in a game the jets were leading the whole way. I think revis knows he would own stevie in a big game and will bring it this year against him just to shut us all up.
  19. Half of you say we have too much talent at RB already...the other half say our Backfield is too crowded???? Its called depth. Richardson is better than both, I would take at 10 in a heartbeat, we took marshawn at 9 who was the second best RB that year with off field problems We are an injury away from being very thin at RB...RB's get injured. Richardson looks Calvin Johnson good, a onece in a decade talent. We could always trade spiller for a fourth! (jk but maybe a second or a Tackle) In 2-3 years will we really be strong at the RB with Fred ex being 33? Rule number 1,Draft BPA not for need.
  20. What? hes played a down in the nfl?.... So what? niether did any other receiver before they were signed. Also hes a "one trick pony" like evans, who will only do things like "catch 70 yard touchdowns" and "stretch the field" and "demand double coverage" who wants that? Also you cant have "fast" recievers in chans offense, those guys just dont work...so why not sign hines ward instead? I think he slow enough for our 15 point per game offense.
  21. ya cuz the bills were making such good moves for the last 12 years, why would he ever have anything bad to say? im sure that he would be positive now, now that we actually are on the right path.
  22. this guy beat me in madden the other day using tebow, he would run, pump fake and then buy enough time to let his receivers open up. I was buffalo and he won 24-21, thats got to count for something!
  23. red helmets with all whites looks awesome period. blue pants will look gay, either with blue jersey or white, just lame old school lame. even our old all white throw back looked "newer" and cooler. the current jerseys are so generic example...red stripes(ingenious) a bills logo in the middle(oooohhhhh) i know these are over doing it but look at oregon ducks unis and see all the creativity and you can see all the possibilities. We went throw back on new unis that we only get once every 15 years or so. i hope nike throws in some decent innovations and we can get a red helmet twice a year for nostalgias sake. last idea, a red charging buffalo with a blue strip on the current white helmet
