  1. Jeesh again, that was someone elses point not mine. and agian evans didnt have a "drop" and agian 52 yards is nice, but did he score?
  2. We had Moulds and Reed and evans was a luxury pick that didnt even start, plus i was also only refuting the statement that johnson was "buried onthe depth chart" 13th pick or not doesnt mean you automatically are good. Evans proved his rookie year he was good due in part to having a good qb. Then if johnson is sooo good, why didnt we all see this in his 2 first seasons? why did people here say he would be cut in training camp 2010 and then again after a drop in green bay? Why did people say it would be evans parrish and easley in 2010 as our starting three even after 2 full years to show his stuff? easley hadnt even stepped on the field yet!
  3. ok lets pay him the average then= 3 mil! you cant quote the average and then use it to say stevies good and that he should be paid top dollar. Good receivers play about 10 years,(on average)And I love how people make a lame point, I counter it, then people take my counter point and act like it was my original point. Every time I talk about this I hear the two same lame statement 1. "ask revis about Stevie" 2. "only Bills reciever to have 2 concecutive 1000 yard seasons" WOW ok I get it guys, I got it when I saw them both happening live. But under that logic every other bills receiver wasnt as good as stevie, not Reed, not Moulds, not Evans-becuase they only had 900+ yards per season after their many thousand-yard seasons. And no reciever has ever beat Revis so much for 7 yard slants. So Calvin Johnson isnt as good, the giant receivers must suck, only stevie is good. Wait I do remember lee out jumping Revis for a big game winning TD once. But we won the game because of it so I guess thats not as good as 7 catches for 90 something yards in a loss though. Stevie is much better at dropping game winners but still expects for Lee evans type money afterwards.
  4. talking about evans is a way to compare stevies new potential deal and role here.... Evans broke through the depth chart his rookie year when no one even expected anything of him, so dont blame coaching staffs. Also I agree stevies good, im simply pointing out that if 2 years of production is the basis for over paying him, and claiming hes so good, why did we get rid of evans who had three good years or so followed by 4 years of being "buried" by bad qb'ing? Its like no one blames trent edwards at all for lees' lack of production and now since he got injured, people think they are even more right. I respect what youve said and am mostly pointing out that in two years will be calling for stevie to be traded because, "he makes 8 million a year and cant get open deep" Side note- stevie hardly ever gets open deep, he has great RAC skills though. But I think he has maybe 3 bonified deep balls that he caught past 30 yards in the air and turned into a td. Pittsburg was a playaction/dropped coverage. He also has shown his dropsies on deep balls. While Evans dropped maybe 1 deep ball his whole career here, he caught around 20 or so over 30 yards in the air. Just my estimation but im sure im close.
  5. where else can we point out the hipocracy of so many posters here? I think talk about our previous number 1 is relevant in more than a few ways to our current default number 1 its called extrapolation, i know, its a math and logic thing:(
  6. no, the point is people are using stevies two good years as a basis for being a "true number one" Evans had three good years but people couldnt wait to get rid of him. So how are we annointing stevie as a premier guy when we treated evans like garbage who so far has way more production?
  7. well JP completely sucked his last two years here...so two wasted low production years. "just a speed guy" is the hardest thing to find in the nfl, at least one with "great hands" like lee also had. lee was hurt, so anyone can say we made a great deal but evans probably wouldnt have gotten hurt had he stayed (those injuries are freakish, not automatic ) so when we were down to a dinged up stevie w no donald jones or easley or parrish, evans would have made our crappy O better down the stretch. I really didnt see where that fourth round pick played any better for us this year. based on your logic we should have traded all four players knowing theyd all be injured. How stupid of us just to trade evans. In fact stevie might be injured next year...lets see if we can get a fourth for him now.
  8. couldnt this have been said for 4-5 bad years evans had playing with holcomb losman and edwards? I never understood how people called out evans for not being able to produce when he had one of the worst nfl qb's in history (especially at going deep) and then another who was medicocre. He really only had about 10 games with fitz before getting hurt in 2010 and fitz isnt exactly a deep ball guy either. He seemed to play good for bledsoe and a couple years when losman was decent, seems like he had more good years than stevie, but oh ya...he didnt break 1000 yards twice in a row, whhuppdee freakin doo.
  9. maybe offers more importance and definitly better value to the team than johnson, demetrius will come for alot less and could possibly play here twice as long ( if they sign both ) LT vs WR? no contest.
  10. he should be, isnt that the value of a guy whos around 15-25th best reciever in the league? just wait till he starts playing bad if he does get paid, half the board will want him cut "cuz he makes too much"
  11. i see alot of threads already trashing the team for "not being serious" or "just letting him walk" and this kind of nonsense. So I say to you, why arent people ripping Johnson??? First, who owes who? Ya he played good and caught some balls, Does the organization "OWE" him for allowing him to play and showcase his skills after drafting him in the seventh round and keeping him on the team when he showed no obvious talent in his first two seasons? Many of you wanted him cut after a drop in greenbay back in 2010. So he played good, so what? hes lucky he even got drafted and then got to start merely because no one aside from evans was any good in 2010. Second, If he wants so bad to "stay in buffalo" why cant he take less and give the team that gave him a chance a discount? What about the other players his salary will affect? Third, Why should we risk missing out on signing other key guys this year and next, to overpay a guy who is arguably, at best, around the 15th best receiver in the league? He was actually rated 47 worst as far as drop percentage in the last 2 years by the way. He had alot more than those two game losers. Fourth, Why all of a sudden the team so dependent on one WR?? we didnt even care about him when we still had Evans and in one year Evans gets dumped (stupidly) and now we have to overpay a guy or we are doomed? We didnt even win with him unless 6-10 is good. What are we just one player away now or something? We cant develop another draft pick? We drafted him in the seventh along with D nelson, imagine if we draft a couple mid rounders and sign one free agent for 6-7 mil. We would be alright. I hear VJ sucks and Bowe sucks both of whom are faster, taller and stronger and never had lame penalties called on them. And no one even mentions Desean Jackson, who i think is way more talented than stevie, I know for sure hes much faster. Colston? So even with his penalties, high drop percentage and wierd T.O. like attitude, the team is now screwed without him? Hes andre reed and TT and Jim kelly all wrapped up in one guy? Im all for stevie returning, just not for more than 6 mil a year, thats alot of money. If hes so serious about being a Buffalo guy, why cant he get so serious about getting a deal done? If he wants to play the market and get every dollar hes worth- I say "F " him.
  12. fan basher? how about your arguments make no sense. First there are 15 wr better than stevie easily, in stats and in obvious ability, just take the playoff teams number 1's and there alone are 16 better 1's, and i dont need to actually nme them, also you named two guys who id still rathe r have even if they have those potential probems, Bowe is much more talented than stevie and stevie drops big passes, does bowe? Also we can replace him with a draft pick or the other 10 premier guys available for less money....Id take stevie for 5 mil a season, he doesnt suck. But who says im chasing him away just beacause i point out his issues> arent they all true?
  13. Ya ! I better get my head examined, cuz I thought Stevie was average, I guess if you drop game winning balls, catch a bunch of slants all year long, are slow and get penalized for unecessary td celebrations time and again, you are better than all but the top three guys in the league. Hear that everyone? Stevie is the fourth best reciever in the league now! How bout stevie is every other teams number 2. Who exactly can name at least 15 other teams number ones, who arent better than steivie? Well thats all for now, got to go get my head examined and tell mommy about the time stevie beat revis agian....mommy said Revis brought his B game because he didnt give a S&^% about those games, he knew the jets would win anyway.
  14. Way to debunk my post, usually idiots who get mad at the logic will remark on the puctuation, etc. This is not an official document,so who cares? If you can read, you should do just fine. Also what exactly is idiotic? which part isnt true? Go find some proof to your counter points (which you dont have) Mr. latin, or should I say "provem tuam pointus, idiotuus maximus"
  15. I agree with this, but isnt above average speed important? Steve isnt slow but hes not fast. Reed was faster than stevie, w better hands and a better leaper and couldnt make the Hall. Heres three guys better than stevie right now- Manningham,Nicks,Cruz. Isnt the rookie in Cincinatti better? A better leaper and faster for sure. I just dont get the love affair for stevie, and saying how he "supported us" How is not signing an extention and waiting for a bigger contract supporting us? Stevies waiting for a payday like everyone else. We have now to bow down to him after bringing him up from nowhere, paying him over a million dollars and letting him be a starter on a pro nfl team? Allowing him to showcase skills that may have never been witnessed had it not been for the Bills? He owes us more than we owe him. Especially after showing disregard for the team with his showboating. Stevie will probably get worse after he lands a deal. Maybe, maybe not but why treat the guy like an allpro just for doing what most starters do on most team year in-year out? Has it been that long since we had decent offense that you all think stevie is jerry rice?
  16. Stupid? stevies a "vet"?? who isnt besides yet undrafted players? And by saying vet, youre saying he is a leader or something?? he acts like a selfish fool T.O. style, he was a "vet" too. Also, sooo many players get 1000 yards, that doesnt mean they are great anymore, and the fact that WE HAVE NO OTHER recievers worth a damn is why stevie got so many balls thrown at him. His Yards per catch are much lower than other start recievers and much lower than Evans'. So If stevie doesnt catch 10 TD's...no one else could have? I know alot of wr's who can cath ten td's a season, its not that many. So whos post is stupid? And again just beacuse you can catch 80 balls for 12 yards per catch, doesnt mean you have deep ball , field stretching speed...something stevie never had and never will, the sccary part is he will only get slower and hes already not fast.
  17. stevie hasnt come close to evans best years and evans never had dumb a$$ penalties or game losing drops. He actually had many game winning catches when it mattered...but it was more than 2 years ago so you probably forgot. Also Drafting new WRs would bring in new players, which was my vote. Stevie was a 7th but you probably forgot that too. You are like a 12yo who says one stat/idea and tries to win the argument on one that one point..."Ask Revis mommy, ask Revis." JESUS!..... Im betting Revis didnt realy give a F^@% and did not take SJ seriously because he is average compared to about 15 other WR's that Revis faced last year. Oh also that Revis knew they would win both games the whole way through. Not that good because well lets see...many crucial drops...i think maybe 2 deep ball tds his whole career....stupid penalties.... very little rac yards this year...not exceptionally tall, not fast and not overly strong....sounds like an average wr living large on a team of 3 and 4 type WR's to be honest
  18. I dont know why more people dont post polls here, its good to see what people really think, instead of only those who post. So I say, if we resign stevie its like "yeah...more of the same" next year Id just as soon take every dollar for him and add it to a deal for Mario and be like, " F YA!, I cant wait til next season." Then we could draft multiple mid round receivers and hope one sticks, stevie wasnt that good and shouldnt be that hard to replace. Even with him our receiving core is a weakness, whats the difference really, next year is still a rebuilding year unless we nail 3-4 draft picks....yea right! get mario!
  19. best since reed????? jeeesh i guess you missed about 7 years and a guy named moulds, i dont get why we annoint a guy as great and a number 1, just because hes the best "we" have. Stevie isnt better than any of the three guys in NY. He isnt better than about 30 other WR's but now hes better than an all-time great??? i guess if u just read one stat he is. How bout lost game do to big drops and idiot penalties? is that a stat?
  20. who are you talking about here? you a first year bills fan??? do you just read posts but not watch games?
  21. many balls that was thrown his way were off target, would hit the ground by his toes, or was one of those dumb a$$ bubble screens that havent worked for 10 years here in buffalo, also he had jp as a qb, Peerless was actually solid, didnt drop a ball and actually won some games for us in his return. He actually sucked much worse his rookie year when he single handedly fumbled away 3 close games that we could have won. he was a fumbler mckelvin style as a rookie. i always thought he would have another break out game but his neck injury left him looking like a shlub, but to those that actually watch football, it was obviously bad qb'ing
  22. intentional??? it wasnt a "drop" and also i would take him in a heartbeat, i heard someone showed him how to run slower, go over the middle, drop game winners and showboat after meaningless td's, since thats the kind of guys we have now here in b'lo
  23. sounds like you want to be the one to personally remove his pants for him. let me ask what you would then do with the blue pants? thanks...now what does the "on" button do again? also how do I use that "internet" thing
