looks like both of our questionable trades w the eagles worked out great for us...we gave up peters, takeo spikes and holcolm and get eric wood, shawn nelson, danny batten and STEVE JOHNSON! Eagles get an a hole LT and and release spikes after the season.

but thomas smith was a big bust to me thomas smith was an excellent cb aside from his first year starting 94. he was a big reason we went to the playoffs in 95 and was replaced with a first round pick when he left as a high paid free agent (how is that a bust?), like the rest of them, thats what we always draft first round it seems. anyway, he did have stone hands but defended many a third down pass.

Ive been waiting for a thread like this....So heres my 3 cents.... Jp by far was the best of these three losers, Jp had the long ball like RJ but took fewer sacks and won more games, I felt he was getting better until Trent was looking over his shoulder and Dick was making him dump the ball off in his last few games. The real battle was between Trent and Rob...I couldnt figure out who I despised more, Rob was such a major douche ...taking sacks just to keep his rating up ...and even admiting it! But he did have balls, its just Rob truely was a moron, which isnt his fault, he was tall and had an arm but that was absolutely it. Note-I saw here some people said he played good in the tennesee playoff game...He was absolutely horrendous, had 98 yards passing, completed one pass in the first quarter for 9 yards, took several sacks, and only did well in the two minute drill at the end becuase it was against a prevent after he needed that entire game to warm up. Everyone says,"he had it won", NO! antowain smith had it won along with the defense. And finally Trent... he was absolutley the worst of the worst, he regresses down to a pop warner level player, had no balls to speak of, lived in denial, ruined two + seasons. Teased us with a 5-1 start whos success was due mainly to defenses not used to running backs catching passes (Losman never really threw to the RBs) Trent absolutely lead to the failure of this team for 3 years and a few more to come due to the fact he was horrible but hid it so well by always checking down. We could have had drafted a qb by now!

yes! right , exactly, now you get it. It really is someone elses fault not Lees, because lee doesnt throw the ball or block for the qb, or read the defense. He runs a route and waits to see if they throw it to him then he leaps,excels,catches and does it a lot better than most. How do you not get it/???

Well we had these same receivers and lineman last year. Where are those idiots now who wanted TO to stay? Well now you are saying any receiver who has a decent game is now a number 1 and a star. Ya the other WRs look good. But it is true that Lee Evans pulls 2 guys his way and leaves a wide open Johnson to catch the balls after the tight end and slot receiver clear out defenders. ohh and Stevie gets their second best CB by the way. Fitz is just picking the more open guy. Johnson is actually a slowish receiver but with great hands and agility ala Billy Brooks. Was Billy Brooks a star? He was good but he just had 1 good year and thats it, he now holds the bills record for most tds in a season. Gone from the Bills the very next year. stevie is average but getting the most out of his QB and single coverage. There was a poll at the end of last year whether people on this board wanted fitz or trent to start, it was like 80/20 in favor of trent. you guys are so good at evaluating talent. Why did Lee start his first year and always produce and earn a big payday? Why did it take Stevie 3 years to start producing? Because Lee is a cut above almost all other receivers and you act like its your money being wasted when he doesnt get 10 balls thrown to him a game. I dont need to see if its a myth. GENIUSES- it was a comeback, which means you actually DONT comeback to the ball,but you go towards the sideline and slightly back toward the endzone. the route is actually a 90 degree angle from the QB, Its not a HOOK where you would go straight back to the qb. While true that Evans did not change his route to a hook in the .2 seconds he had to see the bad pass because no one could have. Fitz underthrew the pass and I saw it when it left his hand how slow the ball looked. fitz also should never have thrown it since the db was sitting on the route. More morons blaming Evans for poor production and now INTs???? um its called pulling double coverage and bad reads by the qb and stevie gets the other teams 2nd CB and runs his routes in areas cleared out by the other receiver and tight end. If Evans was worse than stevie, hed actually get those balls and look better than he does.
