  1. I really want it to be Buffalo. We need something better than the Davis/Sanders monster at the X, He's still so fast and smooth in his routes, even if he's lost some pop after the catch. Bills OLine will get healthy. Only 2/5ths of the starting OLine was available against the Jags. Most NFL teams don't have enough depth to roster 8-9 starting quality lineman
  2. It's your 2nd sentence of which I I'm really going to have a hard time agreeing with. 'However, Josh's job is to make the right decision in every circumstance.' I'm trying to find a good metaphor for this, and keep coming up short. Basically there's no amount of training - short of the psychological rebuilding we did to those soldiers in WWII to get them to CHARGE near certain death on DDay - that's going to allow Josh to maintain the right mental state to keep making the right decisions, when you had the Jags consistently blowing through the line off the snap. I wouldn't be surprised if their pressure rate was about 50% I don't know - maybe boxing? I'm nailing you with body shots for 5 straight rounds, and sure the first few rounds it didn't hurt, but by round 5 you're feeling them every time, and sure they're only landing 33% of the time, but man it hurts. So in about round round 7, I fake a body shot, but you react to it anyway, opening up a clean hook cross combo, and BAM. Well that's what happened to Josh eventually. He took enough body shots, that his body & brain began to fail them, and they degraded his mental training. You're asking to not just have perfect mental recall under unpredictable pressure, but to also overcome his basic fight/flight instinct. He's not a cyborg. He's still human, with human mental frailties - which are actually strengths because they keep you alive. His brain was putting more resources into not dying than it was towards diagnosing the defense.
  3. if you're going to say Josh sucked, then you need to put that in perspective, because this was what Josh was dealing with yesterday look, any QB is a MASSIVELY mental position to play. If you don't trust your protection off the snap, then you're already in a losing position for that play, and those turnovers were probably a function of mental panic from Allen. When you have anxiety you speed up, you miss things, you lose your basic mental training. And Josh was dealing with deplorable protection. Rail on him all you want for those turnovers and not finding people open or diagnosing defenses when he had a clean pocket, but that can't be done in a vacuum. Everything is a function of his confidence in his protection, and then his confidence in his WRs.
  4. I have my issues with the RBs, but that's a moo point if you can't run on the weak side of a defense that has basically 3 guys against your 4-5. I haven't seen Josh run around like that since he was a rookie. That probably wasn't something he wanted to do, or the game plan called for. I do think this is a bit fixable once Mongo and Brown come back, but I'd like to see some experimentation with Ryan Bates. I don't think he could be all that worse than Ford. Last point - we saw this when COVID ripped through the Liverpool lockeroom, so have some evidence. That disease has lasting impacts on athletes, and Dawkins is simply not right. You lose capacity and endurance and he's CLEARLY a shadow of his former self. The problem is that the Bills have nothing to replace him with, so they just have to struggle with him. If you have a finesse offense - which the Bills do - then the MOST important position (after the QB of course) are your tackles.
  5. yes. You don't actually need a great OLine to win in the NFL. Just a not crap one. The Bills JV line just ain't it. It's exactly what caused the Chiefs offense to look so pathetic in the SB
  6. There’s not really an adjustment for not having pass blocking. Well there is it’s to force the other team into man coverages so you have some quick throws available. But as long teams zone the bills, and as long as the bills are allowing quick pressure, there’s nothing you can do as a play caller.
  7. Turns out winning the NFL with a JV oline is hard to do
  8. I mean I don't even care if he lied to the public. What REALLY bothers me is his ignoring safety protocols
  9. Do you also begrudgingly agree with him put his teammates and coworkers - any of whom can be at risk vaxxed or unvaxed - by lying and then proceeding to ignore safety protocols?
  10. I mean the "woke mob" doesn't care. As far as I know Carson Wentz is STILL unvaccinated, and literally no one cares. They treat him like a football player. The difference is that Wentz did lie about it, and intentionally break protocols all the time. [Edit to nip buds; do you mean Wentz did NOT lie about it? - mod]
  11. Imagine 90% of Bills games being done by 1pm, SNF/MNF ending by 830, college night games (unless you're a Pac12 fan) ending by 8....it's almost a lifestyle change. I can actually watch my sports and still have time for family & evening entertainment. Just think it makes sports watching a LOT easier
  12. I've been on the west coast since 2011, after living in PA between like 1994 - 2010. I had no idea how much better sports times were on Pacific Time. I'm in Nashville for a few months, and the wait time for late games has me dying.
  13. I was thinking I'd go at lunch on Monday, well before the MNF crowd go in. Even if there's a line, I'll have time to wait - and my long johns to survive the wait We;d show up at 8am for PSU night game tailgates. We'd get drunk before 11am, slow down, and then pick up steam again around 3pm. Interesting experience, being drunk twice in one day. You'd start feeling the hangover in the 2nd half
  14. Got mine from CA and have it saved in like 5 different places haha thanks for the link! I'll be getting in a bit late, so I decided to stay in Amherst, and gonna aim for Duffs. Really looking forward to talking Bills at the tailgating. Will definitely be bringing a case of beers.
  15. Boom done! Excited to make my pilgramage! Staying in Amherst so I can do Duffs for lunch on Monday. When do the lots start filling up???
  16. They would have said that and not "showed signs of impairment". They wouldn't hide a blood test which showed he was legally drunk
  17. HE could also plead not guilty. Gotta wait to see the evidence they have
  18. I guess it all depends on if you view our justice system's goal is to rehabilitate & protect or punish & protect
  19. a FG every time. I mean spikes and sidelines exist
  20. Are the chiefs a....bad team?!
  21. And he doesn't want to offend another fellow QB or something with analysis either. I mean until he's got more cache that's not a great spot for him. He ain't Russ, much less Brady, in terms of clout.
  22. Think Josh will have to have big games against the Bucs and Pats on MNF to be able to win this race - the schedule is just bad, and I think voters are going to count that against him.
  23. Trying to weigh out a solo trip (ain't no way in hell I'm asking my Cali born and bred wife to make a trip with me to Buffalo in December - especially a night game) or I guess pilgrimage since I'm a 42 year old life long Bills fan who's never been to a Bills game. I'm on the east coast for a few months so wanted to take advantage of a cheap flight up. I found a $70 ticket through ticketmaster, so already bought that with the idea I can just sell it if I can't go So questions I have: The 'cheap' motels within walking distance to the stadium is like 450 a night. Best place to stay without worrying about staying in a murder hotel/attacked by bed bugs, and won't cost arm/leg/appendage of your choice? That's literally my bar btw. If Downtown (which I'm leaning towards), what's the Uber/Lyft situation like? Am I gonna have to wait an hour in freezing weather to get my Uber back to the city? Are there any convenient shuttles or other forms of public transportation? I'm gonna need a wing place recommendation. My plan is to get in on Sunday morning or so, to check the city out and then get some wings for dinner. Depending on the Uber answer - I might rent a vehicle. Should I get the parking pass? Can I crash someone's tailgate? Which area? General etiquette rules? Should I just wander around with a case of beer looking to make friends? Again the weather here has me a bit worried. I'd like to experience a full Bills game though How does vaccine proof work? I got my jabs in California. Any other factors I should consider? Thanks folks! I'm potentially super excited about this
