Anyone else feeling pretty good with the Bills?
nedboy7 replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Everyone wanted a better offense and claims the defense doesn’t show up during the playoffs thus they shouldn’t put resources into it. Well you got what you wanted. Stop bitching. Let’s see if we can out score everyone. -
after 4 pages this is what you came up with? Jesus.

Clapp, 6-foot-5 and 311 pounds, is entering his seventh season in the NFL after four with the New Orleans Saints and the last two with the Los Angeles Chargers. He has 21 career starts in 65 games. Clapp started 11 games for the Chargers in 2023 before he was placed on injured reserve with a season-ending knee injury. Clapp was a seventh round pick by the Saints in the 2018 NFL Draft. He was with the Saints from 2018-2021, moving several times from the practice squad to the active roster. He protected Drew Brees for the quarterbacks last three years in New Orleans. He was a two-time All-SEC selection at Louisiana State University and jumped to the NFL with a year of eligibility remaining.

How do the team's moves so far impact the Bill's draft needs?
nedboy7 replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I believe all these moves are making it easier to draft the BPA in each round rather than need. I don't see how a late first round WR is the solution to winning a SB although I have no problem with it if Bean gets his guy. Second round is also fine depending on who falls to 28. -
Chiefs president floats the idea of the team leaving

Who cares. -
The greater the delusion, the greater the eventual trauma. I love it.

Good to see a couple classy responses. -
Does Josh Allen still work as hard in the offseason?
nedboy7 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Real question is "Does this fan-base put in the off-season work needed to win it all instead of whining about it?" -

Exactly right. Do we know what he is doing as far as training? I just know his pants ripped while his hot girl was following laughing. Seems like he is living a much better life than Kermit the frog. Very happy he is our QB no matter how hard the road is to the trophy. Too much wine perhaps. -
Hmmmm.... Maybe I do like it?

Not really loving this.

His 2024 salary is now fully guaranteed. Bean 2 years ago reached a contract extension with Diggs that kicks in THIS year. His new 4 year 96 mil deal starts this upcoming season. Trading him is a 31 mil dead cap hit. Post June 1st trade kicks 22 mil into 2025. Does not save money. If they want to move on from him, it will be a giant financial disaster. He has annoying tweets. He is not a bad guy and does not really need to be moved. He will again put up a 1000 yrd season in 2024.

Diggs is the WR1 and will be for the next 2 seasons. Deal with his tweets.

Jeremiah has us taking a DT at 28 in his latest mock

It’s hard to remain in a state of outrage. But we do a decent job on here. -
Actually that might be the one thing Toohill is good at.

Are there any WRs that would not be worth the pick at 28? Or do we just pick any WR regardless of what’s left just cause of need. -
Not flashy but a very disciplined player. I think I like it.
-
Picks him up and carries him into the endzone in the other arm.
-
He makes pizza for his linemen from scratch? Love this dude.
-
You are correct on the outside routes percentage. For some reason I remember hearing this from Marino. But clearly I do not remember correctly. But he did talk about him being very effective in go routes and creating separation on the outside.
-
He is not a replacement, but overall it's a big improvement IMO. Way more versatile, faster, better hands. Can operate much better in short yardage and goal line. Samuel's previous QBs: Taylor Heinicke, Kyle Allen, Will Grier, Teddy Bridgewater, P.J. Walker, Carson Wentz, and Sam Howell.
-
Cant Samuel be the boundary or X WR? Faster and better hands than Davis. I dont get the "we have to replace Davis" statements. Hollins is a monster blocker. I dont see Samuel as some gadget toy like McKittrick. I believe more than half of Samuel's routes were on the outside. Dude abuses CBs. With JA throwing to him I expect a monster year.

I like both the new safeties (hopefully). But we are definitely taking a step back in the safety position. Or it would appear at this point. We shall see if McD still has the magic touch.

Hopefully we sign Blackmon and get away from TheJean

6. S JULIAN BLACKMON, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS 2024 Free agency rank: 66 Blackmon started for two seasons in college at cornerback, and he has logged more than 350 slot snaps since 2022. In Gus Bradley’s Cover 3-heavy scheme, Blackmon spent plenty of time as a single-high safety. Almost half of his snaps were down in the box in 2023. Blackmon appears to be a better fit near the line of scrimmage due to his average recovery speed, but his plus lateral movement and solid ball skills from his days spent as a cornerback show up more often when closer to the line of scrimmage. Blackmon’s 30 defensive stops in 2023 were more than his career total before this season, and he missed a career-low 7.4% of tackle opportunities. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2024-nfl-free-agency-rankings-safeties
