  1. Whether he got picked thru the draft or became an UDFA, Sam now has an opportunity to make the Rams...I tend to feel that team don't want the media circus that will accompany him when he goes to training camp...Just hope he makes the team or once again we will be hearing how the league is homophobic,, He has the chance to know show what he has on an NFL field and thats all that matters...
  2. This aint your stand pat and go for another 6-10 Bills..they are doubling down that this upcoming year is playoffs or bust..they just shocked me, 96.3% of Bills fans and the NFL..Bills are THE team to watch..here comes HBO " Hard Knocks, here comes the national media....Bravo, Whaley and Marrone...The grew a pair and said we take a stand we make a move NOW...Bravo Bills freaking Bravo!!!
  3. Backup QB might be right and the Bills could regret not picking him...yet after watching lots of video on Ebron, I'm left with a ton of positives...great hands, runs good routes, fast and elusive,YAC is impressive...yet I see quite a few negatives as well...blocking stinks, he often is downed by the first and smaller tackler and the well chronicled drops...It truly scares me to use the 9th pick on this guy and he has value...later in the 1st round...A review of mock drafts shows no other team grabbing him until Picks 15-23..not that these predictions are the be all end all... If Bills could pick him later by moving down in the 1st round or getting back into the late 1st round thru packaging 2nd, 3rd or future picks would allow us to get the OT we need to keep EJ upright and still gain an offensive weapon we havent had in 20+ years...Its going to be interesting and exciting to see what the Bills and Whaley have in mind in this years draft...
  4. 2 quick responses,,to Bob Magoola post..wow man that is tough, that was hard to read, perhaps hit a little close to home and 2nd, Jim Kelly is going to fight cancer..Let's leave it at that for now until #12 wants to share with Buffalo wassup with his health...
  5. I'm all for innovative new ways for Bills Mafia to rap their love...but lets be honest...the song blows...GO BILLS!
  6. Mr Wilson couldnt secure the sale of his team before his death,,,capital gains taxes paid by the heirs of his estate would have been 38 percent...any decent estate planner would caution against setting up a sale while he was still alive..family can set it up now so that tax burden will be significantly less going forward..am I happy that we now have all the trials and turmoil that come with uncertainty surrounding a new owner..NO but completely understand that the 400 million penalty in place if the team is moved before 2020 was the best he could do to secure the Bills future in WNY...perhaps I'm nuts but I can't see this team leaving Buffalo, especially with the Indy Baltimore fiasco and the Brown situation...NY stateand the NFL needs the Bills to stay right where they are and I will keep the faith that we can count on the Bills being in Buffalo for a long long time
  7. C'mon guys we are talking about Charley Casserly...the same guy who as Redskins GM drafted Heath Shuler #1 as their future franchise quarterback...he doesnt get his name in the news unless he makes comments like EJ is not the man...wtf...think its only fair to consider the source AND give EJ a season or 2 more before we consider Casserly to be a prophert rather than pathetic...
  8. Wow...thanks for the find and sharing this..I always thought of Mr. Wilson as a class act..met him once at BCC and he was a gentleman...nice to discover he had a little bit of an attitude when it came to perceived slights, bad calls and poor officiating as well..thanks man for posting, made my day!
  9. For the Eagles to dump a productive player without any compensations speaks enough to me...NIO THANKS
  10. Love the idea and would watch...free agents would love it but not sure front office or scum bag type agents would want their "dirty laundry" aired...I am surprised that there is not some reality type of programming in the offseason that would keep us all tuned in to the travels and travails of the football players and teams
  11. For a guy who originally didnt want to head north to play for the Bills, Jim Kelly IS Buffalo...some of my best memories are of watching him in the late 80s and 90s and I look forward to seeing him every training camp up in Pittsford...Breaks my heart to see his family going through another health crisis...Jim Kelly is in my thoughts and prayers as he beats cancer for the 2nd time
  12. Incentive laden cap friendly 2 year contract..heck yeah...When this is probably your last hoorah, like it is for Allen, I like the thought...He could teach some of the youngsters how to be a pro and he has been productive...no love (or big FA $$) has come his way and might be another motivating factor for him to to go out with a max effort...If we are renting Mr Spikes, for a year why not rent Allen if he fits into our new D philosophy...
  13. Great thread on our upcoming draft...after the FA signings pretty apparent to me its going to be an offensive player...would be great to have an OT that can anchor the line for 5 years but quite possible we will trade down...With the teams following the Bills having specific needs(Lions need safeties and corners,Tenn needs a QB badly, Giants need D line help)I could see the moving back and allowing those teams to move up a few slots to get their man...I for one would love to have another 2nd or 3rd round pick and letting those teams slide on up to our #9 slot...
  14. Talk about being an over sensitive soul...its a movie about the NFL and they have a great overhead shot of Ralph Wilson Stadium and Trunge19 wants to say it a low blow at the Bills because it happens just before Costner's character states that the draft has a donkey every year ...its a MOVIE man, chill out..enjoythe ride...wow!!
  15. Richnjoisy...thanks so much man for the link...been looking for something, anything that gave me ammunition to argue against the so called ESPN draft gurus...much appreciated!!
  16. Thurman#1 You made some great points on Byrd not signing..perhaps I'm incorrect in my contention that Byrd wanted out and that 9 mil a year would have kept him here..hopefully when the dust settles we will know why he really didn't stay with the Bills..all I can say at this point is I like the vibe of the front office in being assertive in picking spots to grab FAs who will fit into what we have already....if Spikes signs on the dotted line we have another player who can play.
  17. Why So Serious is on point...are we leading the league in big name front page free agent signings...NO, did we try to sign Byrd to a lucrative multi year extension YES, Did he want to stay here,,,NO,,I for one have faith in the new front office..its a given that we are in a 15 year playoff game drought..we change the coach, the coaches, the philosophies on D and offense and still I hear...same old, same old...NO its not gang!!! Can we give the new regime at least another season before we decide they were wrong on FA pickups, 2 drafts and game day strategies... I'm not a homer but plead guilty to being an optimist when it comes to the 2014 Bills and the chances of returning to the playoffs...NO we are not breaking the bank(and our available cap space) but we are filling the holes that need to be filled to make the team better as a whole... Chandler, Carpenter re signed, team starters or improvement with backups through smart FA signings...keep em coming YES let me take a swig of the Kool Aid...YES I'm buying season tickets again after a 3 year absence!!
  18. Triple Threat Easy there fella...you sound really bummed out but the NFL contracting to 28 teams in the near future...Cmon man the league is more popular than ever and revenue streaming among 32 teams is working...Chill bro things arent that bad...cheer up,, tomorrow is going to come and at least give the Bills a chance to blow(or not blow) their available cap money.before you post depressing stuff that IMHO has no basis in fact...I normally love your posts on TBD but somebody must have peed in your cornflakes today....hang in there fellow Bills fan!!!
  19. PromoTheRobot and others...teams like Indy would love to extend Luck's initial contract but 2011 CBA rules prohibit that from happening...love the fact that rookie contracts are more in line with fitting into the overall cap numbers that occur every year but basically, if I understand the CBA correctly, rookie contracts are for 4 or 5 years...team can't extend any contracts related to guys like Russell Wilson until the 4th year of the contract, at teams discretion...I would love if the Bills had these kind of concerns due to a hot shot rookie who is underpaid but with the exception of Alonso (if he keeps playing at his high level) Bills will unfortunately be a 2nd tier choice .for FAs and rookie contracts that we wish we could extend early to fit into our cap issues...on a side note, looks like Mr. Byrd is going to be 55 to 60 million richer by the end of the week, as he has his pick of suitors, Denver or Philly included, according to internet rumors I've seen today...Go Bills!!!
  20. thanks for the heads up and link on this..really like this kid and expected a lot from EJ a d the Bills this upcoming season!! Go Bills!!
  21. Armchair GM..nice job on this topic and getting lots of comments ..imho go for TE, LB or OT..this draft is strong and deep in those positions and after having a pretty strong draft and UDFA pickups we need to fill these positions of need..here is hoping we re-sign Byrd so all the talk of selecting Nix from Bama dies down...with the slots we need to fill why go after him..re sign Byrd, grab some rookie prospects and lets get it done in 2014
  22. KD in CT...thanks man I needed a good laugh...classic!
  23. Sure...trading away our immediate future with 2013 draft picks to go after Johnny Football...sounds brilliant! Johnny can demand in his rookie contract the Bills play all our home games up in Toronto so he can chill with his homie, rap star Drake...omg...this idea screams out to me as a DUMB idea...let's not sacrifice our immediate future on the questionable chance that Mr. Johnny Football will be anything more than a way to sell tickets...haven't the Bills done that enough in the last few years with the signing of TO and other has beens...stay with Marrone, Whaley and the positive direction we are going...while the Bills won the same amount of games this year as in 2012, they are much better off and have a bright future without making desperate moves..this team needs a great draft, a healthy EJ and some good luck for once and the wins and playoffs will come
  24. H2o-great job, here! Nothing I like more than someone who makes his picks and justifies the player and why they are being picked,...info on new and existing coaches and their particular strengths and needs and their background was great too!!
  25. I just returned from overseas from a 6 month deployment and was finally able to have a marathon session of watching all the condensed versions of all this years games..am catching up here on all the thoughts from my fellow Bills fans but must admit that I was shocked at how bad our Special Teams units were...omg...that the coach of this season s biggest CF is still employed as the coach is shocking to me...getting rid of the receivers coach....I get it...the linebackers coach...err...whats his name...but Crossman...what does he have over the Bills that he is not now searching for a Coordinator job on a high school football team is beyond me...lastly, thanks to all of the great comments on this forum and this great website..the sometimes brilliant(and often hilarious) comments here sustained me thru long bouts of homesickness, boredom and frustration so thanks to all of you...now lets get on to making this Bills team playoff bound in 2014
