Agree BTW with Jim (a first time for all things). Explaining to the landlord what is going on will help a lot. I am sympathetic to someone who has the courtesy to call. People who blow me off get legal action. Why? It's just courteous.
I have no solution for the actual problems but do believe that awful cliche that "This too shall pass." When I look back at the many moments I had that were similar to what you're going through, I can't believe how much angst I was in. It always passed. And it really does pale in comparison to what many other people go through. Take some deep breaths. Count your blessings. And sort things out slowly as best you can.
Oh, and don't be afraid to ask for help. People will help if they can. Try not to ask for cash if you can avoid it...but someone's car, a spare room, a job (even an oddjob), a meal, groceries, a toke of weed are the sorts of things people are ALWAYS willing to give when they can.
BTW, you're in a good spot as far as looking for work. What kind of work do you do and where are you?
