This can't be all on bad players. We had an alright pass rush with a bad QB today. Albeit, Wansteedt the idiot ran the same look all game long to keep a struggling rookie QB in the game. No complement blitz packages to pressure the QB with a pretty good front 4 pash rush today. With being so conservative with the front 4 how could there be so many major holes in the secondary? Competent coaching would have even bad players in position from time to time. It's the same thing EVERY game. Fire Wansteedt! I'll save the obvious Chan is in WAY over his head to the other threads. This team is a mess.

Ndamukong Suh kicks Matt Schaub in groin....
BuffaloBillsForever replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Suh is living off his reputation from his rookie year. He hasn't been very good the last few years. All the personal fouls and off field issues most overrated DT in the game. How is Nick Fairley doing? Is this guy a bust or what? -
[please fix subject]Meachem
BuffaloBillsForever replied to NoSaint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
San Diego used him to replace Vincent Jackson. He is not Vincent Jackson. Very different receivers. Jackson stretches the field, a major complement to the San Diego offense. Meachem is more of a possesion receiver, fits extremely well into the Gailey spread offense scheme, not so much Norv Turners. The problems in San Diego are more of the fact he isn't a true #1 (nobody thought that here when we wanted to sign him) and the system San Diego is running. Meachem could flourish here IMO for who he is . San Diego wants him to be something he isn't. -

Nix had the correct plan for Meachem as a complement receiver and not a feature receiver like what they planned for in SD when they signed him. Buddy Nix didn't go "all-in" on Meachem. That would be paying top-end price, they didn't. Meachem I believe would have been a good fit within our spread offense. -

Yes sir! The also acquired Bonifacio and Buck from the Marlins as well. I don't know what their plans for Buck are because now they have a surplus of catchers. Done deal.
-
There is no risk with Melky at all. 2 years 8 per is nothing. Great signing. Anthopolous has made some amazing moves improving this team and has not depleted the farm system in the process.
-
Jays sources say its pretty much a done deal. Reyes Cabrera Bautista Encarnacion That is an unbelievable top of the lineup. 2 switch hitters to boot. Jays are absolutely stacked. Probably the best combination of power, speed, OBP. Their speed is crazy deadly now with what they added with Marlins transaction (Reyes, Gose, Davis, Bonifacio, Lawrie). All they really need now is one more starting pitcher and I believe they have the best roster in the MLB on paper. They have so much depth in their farm system, still have atleast a top 10 farm after the Marlins deal. Jays are in great shape to start a dynasty going forward.

There is a report out there right now that the Jays have signed Melky Cabrera....WOW

d'Arnaud, Buck and Arencibia. Ones gotta go eventually. I wouldn't be surprised if Arencibia gets packaged in a deal for 1 more starting pitcher. I don't see any problems in this trade. They received some very good prospects from the Jays in return. Escobar is an above average SS in this league. Amazing glove. 2 WAR in a bad year. Expect at least a 3-4 WAR minimum next year from him.

Kyle Moore Is A Baller!
BuffaloBillsForever replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, its not just you. Moore has been terrific! He has been our most consistent end at applying hurries and pressures to the quarterback. Our best DE this year IMO. I agree that he should be starting on one end with Mario Williams on the other. Anderson is gone most likely for the year. Kelsay should only come in as a substitute. Kelsay is going to be the odd one out at the end of the year I bet. -

Good call and you are correct. He has been the best pure pass rusher this year when he has been on the field. Its the consistent hurries and pressure. He was getting them on the majority of snaps last night. Merrimans sack was also partly due to Moore. He was tremendous last night! I didn't even know about those stats on him. Just solely from watching the film on him. -
Go Patriots? If it helps our chances with the wild card, sure, why not!

Kyle Moore Is A Baller!
BuffaloBillsForever replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not going to get on him for that. That stuff can happen. Blowing up the line of scrimmage and getting to the quarterback is what matters to me. It's a freak accident that doesn't normally occur on a play like that. How often do you see guys getting called for facemask on a sack? Late hit, sure? Facemask, rarely. -

I thought Merriman and Moore were very good against the run today. An improvement over Kelsay and the other personnel schemes. Night and day for pressure on the quarterback. Moore was terrific getting pressure tonight. If Moore keeps this up you cut Kelsay at the end of the year. -
Bills win despite coaching
BuffaloBillsForever replied to l2yangop's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chan had a rough night with the play calling. Wildcat to Choice on 3rd and short, overall MUCH too conservative play calling with too many screens in the 2nd half (Miami adjusted). Not going for it on one of the 4th downs in the 1st half. Sitting Spiller in the redzone before the end of the 1st half. -
This guy is playing great! Best DE on the team. Oh yeah and Merriman is better than Chris Kelsay. He played well tonight on the edge as well. But Kyle Moore, this guy is showing he can be an elite pass rusher in the league. What a great surprise he has been!

Played more zombies today. Coming from a person that absolutely loved zombies in BO, zombies in BO2 is the most disappointing aspect of this game. The stock maps that come with the game suck. They are small, the lava all over the place is annoying as well as the fog on the farm, weapons I find are SEVERELY underpowered and limited. You have to hope to get the ray gun early in the mystery box or you just burn through ammo like at around round 10-11. It gets stale fast.
-
There is zombies and a few different modes. The stock maps that come with the game suck though compared to Kino de Toten in BO1. This is only in context to the classic survival mode I have played in BO2. Havn't tried Transit or Grief mode. There is also offline bots multiplayer for those with shoddy or bandwith limited internet. Tons of gameplay options for those folks.

Rex Ryan Romeo Crennel (ewww) Andy Ried (meh) Norv Turner (ewww) Sean Peyton (free agent) Then you have the 2nd or 3rd tier coaches like Jason Garrett A lot of big names but I wouldn't touch a lot of them with a ten foot pole. The only candidates I like from this list is Rex Ryan and Sean Peyton. It will be interesting were Peyton lands if he test FA. The volatile situation with Rex Ryan might implode as well. High expectations, poor play and a bad locker room situation. NY usually cuts ties quickly when things go south.

Since there are reports that Nix and Gailey will be the GM and headcoach next year they should be making changes at the real problem with this team. It's the DEFENSE, partly scheme partly personnel. Wannstedt has been compounding the issues on defense. Vannila scheme, soft man and zone coverages, RARELY blitzes. The gameplan was usual Wannstedt. He mainly played soft man and zone and rushed 4 pass rushers. When he did blitz he sent a single linebacker, safety and wow even a single cornerback today! Make the change now. This defense is historically bad and it just continues. Since you will be here next year Chan, stop the bleeding now! Hire a guy like Mangini and get him acquinted for next year. Even as a statement "we will not accept this". Changes need to be made either way.
-
In terms of productivity and money. Yes! He is totally a non-factor. You could subsititue any other defensive end on this team and there wouldn't be any downgrade. He gets absolutely no pressure on the QB. Lets see how Williams attitude progresses? Does he eventually quit on the team like Haynesworth? Time will tell.

Mario Williams Magic Trick
BuffaloBillsForever replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With all the money he makes all he needed to do is make a couple impact plays. Not a single one! -
Nick Barnett is awful!
BuffaloBillsForever replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the real problem is in the run game with Barnett. Perhaps worse in the run than against the pass. But he was just awful today in both realms.
