Wayne Cubed replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could see Jerrah doin something stupid like hiring Troy Aikman. Rumour is he is interested in running a front office or coaching. -

God I hope it ends up being the Titans -
Playing the starters for two series
Wayne Cubed replied to ILBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And that’s at full health. Lawson and Nsekhe are injured. So it’s more like 44, minus 3 specialists and then you are talking bout 20 players. Add in there are more backups for certain positions and it’s not an easy, just play the backups BS. -
Yea that’s where I’m at too. The run defense being poor is a product of the offense not scoring big numbers. Teams know they can pound the rock. Go up by 2 scores and that quickly goes away. Look what Baltimore did Sunday vs the Browns when they were down and the run game was ineffective. They passed.

Likely first round opponent?

Can’t believe the Raiders still have a chance to get in -
I think I'd rather have the Titans as #6 seed

It’ll be an interesting game against Houston next week. Does Houston rest it’s starters because all they can play for is the #3 seed? They wouldn’t get a buy, so I could see them not risking it. But then, would you let Tennessee into the playoffs? -

Yea I saw that, the spotting of the ball was awful all game long. -
This one was on the defense folks

Did they tighten up or did the Pats make mistakes? On consecutive series they got OPI which put them in long down and distances. They were also without Edelman. This is where the Bills defense thrives. What was missing was making those plays on 1st/2nd downs. Too many times the Patriots were in 3rd and manageable. Too much Trent Murphy and the run defense was awful. -

But by the time the offense got the ball for their 3rd time the defense had been on the field for 18 mins plus. They scored 3 and had a 3 and out in their first two. Can’t do much if you don’t have the ball. Now should the offense have done more on their 3rd and then 4th possession? Sure but if the defense was tired at that point, they only had themselves to blame. What they allowed for 3rd down situations was awful. -

I know people think the defense was on the field too long but I mean, look at NE** 2nd and 3rd drive: 2nd Drive - 11 plays; 7:26 3rd Drive - 17 plays; 8:11(started inside the 1) At that point the Bills had had the ball twice scored 3 points and went 3 and out. The defense had been on the field for over a a quarter of football. If they were tired, it was their own doing. -

I just think the defensive game plan sucked. No way should Trent Murphy be seeing the majority of DE snaps. Also, think the Pats just had a better offensive game plan. -

C’mon Gunner, this is a bit simplistic. In reality it’s a bit of both. The offense put 3 points on the bored then the defense collapsed on NE 2nd drive. Allowed a nearly 8 min drive, putting themselves in a lot of 3rd and short situations. Making for easy conversions. The defense after 3 New England drives, including a turnover, had been on the field for 18 mins! You don’t think that’s a little bit of their own fault? They allowed a 17 play drive, that started inside the 1, that almost turned into 7 but fortunately they held them to 3. They could not get off the field on 3rd down. -
The Bills Better Play to Win in the Playoffs

The zone read runs on first downs were awful. -
The Bills have only had 7 ST penalties this year tho.

Vic Fangio wants to see NFL drop divisions format
Wayne Cubed replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why does that matter? Why would it be horrible? Do the Bills have any team in the NFC that are considered rivals? No. If you are saying that top 6 teams make the playoff there is no reason for divisions. What keep it so teams that are located somewhat close geographically in a division that doesn't matter if you win or not to determine if you make the playoffs? I think that would actually be worse and would only benefit teams in easy divisions or hurt teams with more competitive divisions. -
Yea there's not a massive difference between the 22 or 23 yard line and the 25. I'd even argue there's not much of a difference between the 20 and 25. By bringing it out it also forces the kicking team to cover and show they can cover the kick.
