Well then you weren't listening this morning, and I quote Sal:
"We are getting to the point where EJ isn't an option for week 1"
Otherwise known as EJ is out of the competition, in his eyes. He said it.
Sal Capaccio @SalSports
7-7 red zone work: EJ fires a bullet to back of end zone where Robert Woods beats Gilmore for TD. Coverage was tight. Throw was great.
Basically he talked about Alex Smith and how everyone thought he was a bust. He like's his QB's bigger and physical so they can do more things in the offense. It sure as hell didn't sound like he was describing Matt Cassel.
According to Sal C on WGR this morning, EJ Manuel has no chance of starting because of yesterday's practice. So there it is folks, the QB competition is officially over, according to WGR.
I know these reporters want to tweet about the QBs because it generates retweets, likes and views but honestly I don't care about who they think is winning.
By all accounts Trent Edwards was winning the QB job a couple training camps ago.
Joe B is going after a guy on Twitter who called him out. Apparently EJ had a would be TD in red zone work. Joe B says it was a sack.
Although someone tweeted on one of Cassels TDs he would have been sacked.
It's kind of pathetic really.
As Aaron Rodgers put it:
@AaronRodgers12: Can't wait to see what my Espn QBR was from practice today. Glad they factor in clean handoffs and walk thru td passes b/c I was on point
This is kind of funny... This scrimmage.
One of the best defenses in the league against a new offense. Reporters talking about how bad the offense looks. A defense that made Peyton Manning look bad. A defense that made Aaron Rodgers look bad.
That's not to say the offense isn't actually bad but what did they honestly think was going to happen.
