This seems like click bait, anytime a RB has been injured this preseason that team is "having talks about Ray Rice". Happened with the Texans and the Browns and yet still no team has brought him in.

That's usually because players and teams are anxious to get back so they rush it. In this situation he has 3 and a bit weeks to fully rest up and not rush. If this happened in the season he might try to come back after 2 weeks or maybe even a week and injure it again.

Not that there is a best time, but this is the best time for something like this to happen. If it happened in season he might be rushed back or try to come back too soon. This allows him to, hopefully, fully heal so it isn't nagging him all season.

Depends on how long Byrce Brown is out. Signing someone means dropping someone else when they are already trying to replace Wynn and Powell. Williams will be back before the regular season.

Predetermined before the season but Rex decided to give valuable playing time away where Matt Cassel could develop chemistry with the 1s? Why would he do that to see who the Bills backup QB will be? This is the first I've ever heard of giving playing time away with the 1s to see who the backup QB will be. Surprised other teams aren't following the same genius plan. And why not tip his hand? Why not just announce Matte Cassel as the starter? A team is eventually going to know who is starting for the Bills. The Colts aren't out there game planning for the Bills yet, once training camp ends they will and at that point Rex will have announced the starter. There is very little benefit to not announcing who the starting QB is going to be. In fact if Rex is playing this game and "not tipping his hand" and giving 1st team reps away just to be secretive, he's doing more damage then good.

In the first series on that 2nd and 10 from the Carolina 45, I'm pretty sure that was a designed read-option run. I counted 3 designed runs of his 6 total.

At this point, with how long the Bills have been starved of even mediocre QB play, I'd take a couple seasons of Michael-Vick-type QB play. Vick had about 6 years of very very good QB play and never was a true pocket passer. I wouldn't say Vick was ever figured out just that injuries and age caught up with him. Would that mean Taylor doesn't become the long long term answer? Probably. I'm ok with that considering this team is built to win now.

Went back and watched the replay of Taylor's play. Honestly, not too worried about him throwing in the pocket after that game. He does it a couple times. And I wouldn't say he ALWAYs looks to run. On the near sack play, he rolled out and found Karlos Williams, when he could have ran. Three of his runs looked like they were designed runs. Naked bootleg, read option(which was the longest run), and a roll out. I guess next week will be the true test.
