Yea I wouldn't blame the throw for the injury. Not sure if it's any fault of Sammy's either, he went to plant hard and his foot slipped and rolled over. It happens to lots of players. I suppose one could argue he has weak ankles or something but he's been fine planting and cutting before so I don't really think thats the issue. Just bad luck I think.

I think this is now 2 merged threads, so it could be from the other one.

I don't think there is any problem in critiquing EJ's play, I don't think anyone(I may have missed it?) is saying that EJ's play led to the loss. I wasn't particularly impressed with his play, his ball placement still leaves a lot to be desired. Clay saved him on 2 horrible throws, he got burned for an INT on another horrible throw and I believe there were a couple more throws were the receivers bailed him out. He also threw short quite a few times on 3rd down and took a couple bad sacks. Looking at his stats, 15/20 for 1 TD, 1 INT and a running TD people might conclude that he preformed fairly well. Unfortunately stats don't tell the entire story as pointed out by his bad ball placement. Was he OK for a backup QB? Sure, I suppose he was but he certainly didn't look anything like preseason EJ Manuel. He looked more like the EJ Manuel of old.

Bucky: Trading Cassel doesn’t look good right now
Wayne Cubed replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
None. I pointed out earlier, less than half of NFL teams carry a 3rd QB and the vast majority of them are developmental player. The only QB that may be comparable to keeping a "Cassel" type QB is Charlie Whitehurst in Tennessee. That's it. -

Same goes for you. You can believe whatever you want to support your narrative. If he had significant input into the Manuel pick then he also had significant input into the Alonso pick who he had no problem trading away. Or did the "de facto" GM Whaley, in your narrative, only have input into the Manuel pick and thats the only pick he cared about? -

I don't debate that but at the end of the day it was Nix decision to draft him based on Whaley's recommendation. His name as a GM isn't attached to him so it's not "his" guy. Ahh, so it's some sort of conspiracy? The Bills kept Buddy Nix on the staff until after the draft so that if EJ Manual didn't work out Whaley could save face. If it was Whaley's decision why keep on Nix? What did he add to the situation? -

Huh? Buddy Nix drafted EJ Manuel. Buddy Nix stepped down after the draft of Manuel. Does Whaley need to be held responsible for Robert Woods play? Maybe Whaley should trade Harvin so that Woods sees more snaps. -

To that point, 17 teams have 3 Qbs on the active roster. 2 of those are because the teams starting QB is injured. So at the start of the NFL season a little less than half of the teams have 3 QBs. Most of those 3rd QBs are young developmental players. None of them are really viable backups in the league. Maybe Charlie Whitehurst. -
I'm coming down from the North, spending time with the in-laws, should be down to London for 7pm maybe earlier. Not sure if anything has been organized.

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Rex Ryan just said on @SiriusXMNFL that he "definitely would not rule out Tyrod Taylor this week." -

@Michael_Fabiano: Tyrod Taylor is out for Week 6 with an injured knee. EJ Manuel will start for the Bills, per NFL Network source familiar with the injury. -

Sal Capaccio @SalSports Sorry. Should have typed "could miss," as @JasonLaCanfora reported for Taylor. Not "to miss." Nothing is certain as of now, Im told. -

He'll definitely be good for the scout team this week as he's been with the Bengals for the past 3 years I think. -

I think Tyrod still starts on Sunday. The only other QB on the roster previously was EJ and maybe they want to give Tyrod a rest day or 2. If they do want to rest him they would need another QB for scout team. -
What I don't get is if you asked people if they would be ok with QB play equivalent to Russell Wilson, I'm sure they would say yes. in 2013, the year the Seahawks won the Super Bowl, Wilson had games where his QBR was 11.5, 20.1, 20.9. He had games where he went 10/18, 11/27 and 9/18. He had games where he threw for 108, 103 and 139 yards. He had multiple games where the offense had SEVEN 3 and outs. He had games where as bad as he played he would make a couple plays with his legs and come back and win.
-
Yea, that's just like your opinion man.... I kid. I kid. Unfortunately, fans will always pull the "eye test" card. Or the " Russell Wilson doesn't have as many playmakers..." card. Russell Wilson has certainly had some "stinker" games. I remember a game in 2013, when Seattle won the SB, they were playing the Rams in St. Louis and Wilson went 10/18 for 135 yards and literally couldn't get anything going on offense. He didn't even have a good game running. They had SEVEN 3 and outs and two 4 play drives. It was ugly. If it wasn't for the defense they could have lost that game. In that same season he lost a game, at home, to the Cardinals going 11/27 for 108 yards. Again, they had SEVEN 3 and outs and Wilson was missing open receivers. Even last season in the NFC Championship game, Wilson looked bad but big time players make big time plays and he did just enough to win.

London game will be streamed on Yahoo
Wayne Cubed replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. They'll just pick up what CBS is broadcasting and producing. Local markets are still getting the game by CBS and therefore are sending broadcasters. What Yahoo is doing is not all that different than what DirecTV does every Sunday. Yahoo is just taking whats being broadcast and putting onto their digital platform for viewers to stream. The catch is that Yahoo is in charge of advertising and engaging customers during commercial breaks. For people watching on Yahoo we could see more interactive or creative advertising. And because your computers IP address is unique to you, you may see ads specifically aimed at you, much like you do in pop ads. It could be in the future if the NFL decides to pick Yahoo for streaming content they hire their own broadcasters and producers but at this point CBS/FOX/ESPN all have way more experience doing it so no need to change that for the sake of one game.
