  1. I'm sure this is in response to the Shaq Lawson injury and some fans being disappointed because they believe the Bills are in win-now mode. It's hard to say if the Bills are. I tend to think teams with "franchise" QBs are in win-now mode, every year. They need to get as much out of their teams every year for as long as they have this franchise QB. After he leaves or retires or gets hurt, there are no guarantees they find a replacement. So they need to maximize the time they have. I suppose the question is, win what now? The Super Bowl? As far as the Shaq injury, if the Bills are in win-now mode I don't think that effects it. What teams rely on players in their rookie season to win-now?
  2. I don't think Freeney signs that contract. He's already said he wants to go to a winner. And as already mentioned, I don't feel like he fits the scheme.
  3. Probably should have been more specific with that, but yes you are correct, it's if he's on the Week 1 roster. If they signed Freeney I'm assuming he starts in replace of Lawson. Of course they could bring him in for camp and cut him.
  4. That's where I think I fall as well. And as vested veteran his salary is guaranteed for the season once they sign him. I'd prefer a guy like Biermann, who I think is a better fit for Rex's scheme. He sets the edge well, was 7th in edge run defenders last year, and would be good depth once Lawson comes back. They have had him in for a visit so they've seen him. He'd also come quite a bit cheaper than Freeney. Even before the drafting Lawson I thought he might be a nice scrap-heap type FA pick up.
  5. Weren't the Jags doing what Miami was doing, with very limited on-field work?
  6. I certainly won't be going for the "nice stadium". I went to a few USC games when I lived in LA and it's not a nice place to watch football.
  7. Looks like I need to return back to my old stomping grounds. I looked at flights already. I'm 90% sure I will be making the trip. I do miss Sunday's at Busby's.
  8. Is this really an update though? It's still too early for a timeline, IMO. I would imagine this was another opinion based on the surgery going welll.
  9. The would be a no for me. I'd prefer Biermann or to bring back Wynn over Hardy. I think he'd end up being a cancer in the locker room.
  10. Look harder: Wide-9, right there for you... 3rd play on defense of the season.
  11. What? This is a ridiculous take and all I can do is laugh.
  12. This is my favorite take thus far... He's about to miss a half a season based on guys who aren't doctors or guys who haven't examined him And just so we are aware, Dr. Adam Schefter has been wrong with medical diagnosis' before. One that I remember, because Jeff Fisher openly mocked him, was in 2014 when he tweeted that Sam Bradford hadn't torn his ACL. Fisher said "funny I don't remember Adam being in the training room". And in fact Bradford had torn his ACL. My point: I wouldn't take these time frames as fact.
  13. And Schefter says 5 to 6 months.... must have missed that part where Schefter got his medical license, examined Shaqs shoulder, preformed the surgery and gave a recovery time.
  14. The other thing some people seem to be doing is taking what Schefter has said, which went from 4-6 months to 5-6 months, as fact on how long Shaq will be out. The same Schefter who said Sammy will miss all of training camp, when every other reporter seems to think he'll be good to go for training camp if not a little bit after. Schefter is getting estimates from medical people who I would guess haven't examined Shaq Lawson. At this point no one knows how long it will be but lets all go ahead and assume the longest amount of time because of course, it's the Bills.
  15. And I'm sure it was something along the lines of, if it's that easy to tweak might as well fix it now, instead of go through the season and have him keep tweaking it. Could he have played the season without it? We will never know but maybe he could have.
  16. I suppose this is bigger news because of the Shaw news but to me, if he's ready for training camp, it doesn't bother me at all.
  17. No I didn't, you have to get all the ones that are selected correct. The Bills one is a bonus. I think I saw someone in the thread got them all
  18. Oh they do, do they? They are no different than Bills fans, just go over to either of their forums... Jets fans think Mike Maccagnan can do no wrong... They also thought John Idzik could do no wrong. All of this after Maccagnan used a 2nd round pick on a project QB because he refuses to pay Fitz.
  19. Apparently. Then someone else said they saw him at SoHo and he seemed absolutely fine. #ShaqWatch
  20. Yea, but the Instagram post now says he reinjured his shoulder... I think that's a fairly big leap. I'm not saying it isn't medical. It was never even said if it was the shoulder that's causing him to miss the time. So we've now gone from he will miss some time, probably because of medical to he reinjured his shoulder and will miss time.
  21. Apparenlty BillsFantics source is TBD and eMoulds. Someone on Twitter said so last night... but the information isn't even right and is a HUGE leap. eMoulds never said he re-injured his shoulder.
  22. Billsfantics, which created the Instagram post, I believe got the information from here. I saw on Twitter last night someone saying that's where it's come from. But even then, the information is wrong. eMoulds original quote said nothing of an injury or what the injury was. Just that he expected him to miss some time to start the year. It's now gone a bit viral in the Bills community. #ChineseWhispers
  23. Anyone catch that they showed th Aaron Williams play for Edelmans highlights? And the NFL Twitter account tweeted it....
