  1. Is Davis even coming back? I know he tweeted that on April 1st... not sure if it was a joke or not. "Sources" were saying back in February that he planned to reapply. If that were the case he's on an annual salary of just about $5.35MM, the Bills would have to do some work to get him in under the cap. Maybe a new reworked contract once he's traded? If the 49ers are in rebuild mode maybe it would take a trade like the one for Clady. He's been out of the game for a year so Davis can't be worth more than a 3rd or 4th.
  2. Or maybe Lawson benefitted from Reader inside as well. The fact is both players had limited playing time prior to the 2015 season but Dodd finished the year strong. Give me Dodds height and length over Lawson, which will translate better to the pro game. I don't think Lawson will be an effective pass rusher in the NFL because as the games wear on, he seems to get tired and gives less effort. He isn't very explosive off the line either. Whereas Dodd is relentless and is always aware of the plays and where the ball is go. He's a good run defender. I see him as an excellent replacement for Mario. Don't get me wrong, Lawson is a nice/solid player, I just happen to think Dodd is the better pro prospect of the 2.
  3. Kevin Dodd doesn't go in the first? Personally I think I'd like him at 31 more than Lee but I appreciate the write up.
  4. Because his agent made comments before this as well. Does Tyrod really need to come out again and say the same thing?
  5. Actually Tyrod did respond: "I just focus on the stuff I can control," Taylor told Virginia's Daily Press during a youth football camp. "I'm not necessarily into the contract stuff. I let my agent handle that. I know I'm under contract for another year. Whether they choose to extend me or not, that's out of my reach right now. Like I said, I'm just focused on things I can control, and that's preparing like I've always prepared." "I definitely think I showed what I can do, and I definitely think that I showed that I'm going to continue to get better. I improved each game. I would love to be the long-term answer but I understand the business side of it. If something happens (with the contract) this year, I'm happy for it, but if not, we'll wait it out and see what happens." 6. I'd absolutely hate that idea. Lynch needs a lot of work and is 2nd round QB being pushed into the first because of need. He's not a QB you go up and get because he isn't a can't miss prospect. He can't really read defenses, he needs to learn how to play QB under center and he threw way too many bubble screens/short passes for my liking. And there is absolutely no way, if I'm GM, that I'm morgaging the future and trading up for Paxton Lynch. His own coach has admitted that he isn't as polished as Andy Dalton was, who he coached at TCU.
  7. Definitely. There was no need to drag the rest of the teams performance into it. He basically just put down every other player on the Bills.
  8. Thought the same thing and then pointed it out to a work colleague. Had to show them the original clip so they knew who I was talking about.
  9. 5 QBs declined plus 1 alternate couldn't play(Dalton). Taylor was the 4th QB alternate. Basically he was 10th in voting. I like Tyrod but I think it's a bit much to hang your hat on being in the Pro Bowl if you were voted 10th at your position. I don't even really think the Pro Bowl is a good metric anymore. It's not what it used to be. He was 4th alternate. Bridgewater and Winston were selected after him to replace Cam Newton and Carson Palmer.
  10. First of a couple of stand alone Star Wars films. I like the look of it and I think the story is interesting enough as a stand alone.
  11. Whaley is on record as saying all of the QBs in this years draft need to sit for a year. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000628867/article/bills-gm-doug-whaley-qbs-in-2016-draft-not-nflready If he's being honest, I think it's a very long shot that he drafts a QB he thinks needs to sit for a year and gets rid of Tyrod.

  13. This happened to me a couple years ago. When I first started at my last company I took a lower down job in hopes of proving myself for a higher responsibility and higher paying position. After my first year there, the company did see the potential in me and offered me a raise and a promotion but they low-balled me on the raise. They worked in a tier system for salaries that had minimum and maximum salary. They put my in the next highest tier but decided to pay me $1,000 less then the minimum in that tier. I felt a bit slighted but to me it was another challenge to prove myself. The company I worked for was a bit behind the times and I was really hoping they would create a position in the company, that they didn't have, for me. I was doing work that wasn't part of my job description hoping that they would see the value. Unfortunately, they just didn't see it. They really liked the work but they didn't seem like they wanted to give me that job title and pay me as such. They were too set in their old ways and didn't want to spend the money. It happened suddenly one day that I just realized that this company was right for me. I updated my resume, looked for other jobs and when I found one and got hired I left.
  14. The question it would raise in my head, if the Bills did select an OT at 19, would be does this player make the team as a whole immediately better? For me, I understand that you can't have all-star talent along the entire OL, and with the exception of Dallas most teams don't. Dallas' position is unique in that they were in almost the perfect situation when they selected their OL. They needed help desperately on the defensive side of the ball but if you look at the 2011, 2013 and 2014 drafts the OLinemen they selected were really the best players on the board, with the exception of 2011 when they could have selected JJ Watt. I guess the argument would be who would have helped them more Watt or Smith? And they got extremely lucky last year when La'el Collins decided to sign with them. It's an interesting debate. I know the RT position is more important now because defenses bring pressure from both sides but I don't know if selecting a RT makes this team 1 or 2 wins better. If that OL is the BPA at 19 and they don't think they can sign Glenn long term, I completely understand the pick.

  16. 19: R1P19 DE KEVIN DODD CLEMSON 49: R2P18 OLB SU'A CRAVENS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 80: R3P17 WR CHARONE PEAKE CLEMSON 117: R4P19 CB DEIONDRE' HALL NORTHERN IOWA 139: R4P41 DT D.J. READER CLEMSON 156: R5P17 ILB BENIQUEZ BROWN MISSISSIPPI STATE 192: R6P17 OT WILLIE BEAVERS WESTERN MICHIGAN 218: R6P43 QB KEVIN HOGAN STANFORD I wouldn't be upset with this draft. I went with Kevin Dodd instead of Darron Lee at 19, which was kind of a reach. Cravens in the 2nd was nice and he would fit fell in the Bills defense. Peake, IMO, is underrated and would challenge for the #2 WR position. Hall is a very physical press corner, doesn't have great speed but he would give the Bills some depth and could become a FS with the uncertainty of Williams. Reader is the NT REx would be looking for. Brown is a good ST guy and would give the Bills depth in the middle. Beavers and Hogan are both developmental guys but Beavers would probably be in the mix for the RT position.
  17. I wouldn't have a problem with this as a replacement for Bradham, he's actually probably better in coverage than Bradham. It at least means the Bills have someone that could play that position and play it up to Bradham level.
  18. Huh? That's a ridiculous poll and not even close to what the actual situation is. Those aren't Doug Whaley's only options and for the life of me I don't know why you have to put down Bills fans who don't agree with your take on TTs contract situation. There are very few Bills fans who actually think TT sucks, so that is a massive exaggeration. Most want to wait and see before giving him a contract extension. This isn't because they think he sucks it's probably because: 1. While he had a good season statistically, there are areas he needs to improve on and he has all of 14 games to measure his game on. People want to see consistency. 2. He's not a FA. Unlike Brock Osweiler and Kirk Cousins and anyone else you want to bring up who just got paid, TTs contract is not up. He is still on a prove it contract which he signed and is beneficial to him because, as he has already done, if he hit certain escalators it would void a year of his contract meaning he would be in line for a BIG pay day sooner should he continue to play well. He knew this was the situation. 3. The Bills don't have the money to pay him this year anyways. You can kick and scream all you like about him wanting to get paid but that won't change the fact that this season the Bills do not have to cap space to pay TT more AND get depth for certain positions. If TT plays at the same level he did last season with some improvement, the Bills will pay him. They'll either franchise him or work out a deal with him. They won't let him walk if he has a great season and the franchise tag won't allow him to leave.
  19. I disagree. I think all the teams know this is a draft to trade back and gather more picks. It's a "move up" market. If the Bills are desperate to move down they may not get good value on picks they could/would get by trading down. And I don't think teams will be desperate to move up knowing the depth is there in this draft. I think you might see some trades into the top 10 but after that I don't think you'll see much. There will be talented players on the board at 19. Trust the board and take a player.

  22. Why not incentivize it for players? Play all years of the contract without signs of CTE, receive bonus.
  23. I can take this thread much more serious because you wrote the OP in a serif font.
  24. I hated that the Bengals kept going to Hill instead of Gio. I had Bernard on my fantasy team and when he got the touches he did well but they kept going to Hill. It was so annoying.
