  1. Just because the line sucks doesn't mean that Trent doesn't also suck. He's the worst QB in the NFL.
  2. Edwards sucks. Yah, basically everyone else on offense sucked today too. But that doesn't change the fact that Edwards sucks.
  3. The game was a disaster. The offense is the worst in the NFL. The linebackers are the worst in the NFL. Therefore, the Bills are the worst in the NFL.
  4. Grades by position for the season opening loss to Miami: Quarterbacks Trent made some good throws during the no-huddle scoring drive. Outside of that, his play was a joke. All the things we disliked about Captain Checkdown returned, with the final seconds of the game serving as a perfect example of everything that is wrong with Edwards. Bench him now, the team will never be good with this guy at the helm. Grade: F Running Backs Jackson and Lynch did nothing, and Spiller did less than nothing in his disappointing debut. The fact that few running plays were called didn't help, but even still no one in this group could break one and make a play all game. There is some talent in this group, but they didn't show it today. Grade: D Offensive Line Terrible. One of the worst lines in the NFL. The tackle play was so horrific it's astounding that a team could even attempt to enter an NFL season with this kind of talent. I guess that's what happens when you go years on end without spending a high draft pick on a tackle, and let the one diamond in the rough you found go to another team. Grade: F Wide Receivers No big plays, very little production. Hard to gauge since Trent refused to throw the ball most of the time. When Roscoe ran uncovered straight into the end zone, he at least caught the ball, so that's good I suppose. Grade: D Tight Ends Did any tight ends even play in this game? Grade: F Cornerbacks Surprisingly good play all the way around. Florence played like a man with something to prove, and even McKelvin (who I usually pick on) played very well. Kept Marshall in check throughout. Clearly the best unit on the field today for the Bills. Grade: A Safeties No big plays really, and had to clean up the running game mess left by the linebackers on more than one occassion. Was hoping Byrd would get his name mentioned a single time. Not much to love or hate either way. Grade: C Linebackers I knew they would be bad, but they are even worse than I could have imagined. Putting lineman like Kelsay and Ellis in space is painfully awkward to watch. No talent whatsoever. Big shocker that Poz was hurt. Grade: F Defensive Line No one was a disruptive force, but no one was a clear and obvious liability. No sacks, no forced fumbles, no big plays, just a bunch of weak tackles downfield. Grade: D Special Teams Moorman didn't punt particularly well, Roscoe had one decent return, no huge errors. Grade: C Coaching Disastrous debut for Chan. Offense looked just as bad as ever, just using some different formations. Called twice as many passing plays as running plays, even though its obvious the RBs are much better than the QB. Grade: F Overall The Bills certainly have the look and feel of one of the worst teams in the NFL. I'm sure the organization will stubbornly stick with Edwards and continue losing in embarassing fashion. Not much good going on with this team. They proved the experts right by showing just how bad they really are. Grade: F
  5. Yah, awesome game man, I'm psyched! The offense is terrible, and will stay terrible all season because our QB and tackles are terrible.
  6. Anything is a better option than Edwards. I just can't stand watching this guy play football. Signed.
  7. Cast your vote and let everyone know what you think. I'm afraid to say that after the way things looked today, they might be one of the worst teams going
  8. It's a sad state of affairs when fans long for the good old days of the JP Losman era.
  9. STOKELY!!! DOWN THE SIDELINE!!!/ Pretty nice draw on the announcing crew

  11. Just sharing my opinions If the guys I don't like come up big on the field this year, I just might change my tune!
  12. This is not necessarily an evaluation of talent or skill compared to other players in the league, these are just my personal feelings on which Bills players I like and dislike. --- Love Em! Jairus Byrd - just keep pickin off that ball Jairus! Drayton Florence - solid veteran guy with some style that interacts with the fans on gameday. love the "Prove It Then" t-shirts he gave to the secondary. Terrence McGee - the guy just shows up and plays well year after year, never with any drama. Marcus Stroud - always interacts with the fans on gameday, good player, and a founding member of the Mustache Gang. C.J. Spiller - you score one electrifying touchdown and you are basically an instant favorite. also comes across as a real nice guy in interviews. Kyle Williams - unsung hero who plays a lot better than people give him credit for. Eric Woods - good player, amazing return from injury, classic Buffalo blue collar vibe, and taunted Maybin in practice saying "give back some of that money you ain't earnin!" Chan Gailey - if Chan were a mod on these forums, he wouldn't stand for my sass mouth! Hate Em! Trent Edwards - little emo baby doesn't even act like he gives a damn. also terrible at playing quarterback. Aaron Maybin - quit jumping around after every down like you contributed something, because you didn't. ever. just go get shoved on your back again with your "speedrush". John McCargo - good grief just go away once and for all, would you already? Leodis McKelvin - the only thing this bust has done is fumble away the game. watch your lawn, kid. Paul Pozluszny - i guess he should have drank more milk as a child. when he does manage to stay healthy, he never makes an impact play. Russ Brandon - it's borderline criminal that he even collects a paycheck. yet the worse the team gets, the more he gets promoted. --- I pretty much like all the rest of them, just to varying degrees. Who are your favorites and least favorites?
  13. The thing about Donte's guarantees at this point is that no one cares. He's not a marquee player in the league, he's not a team captain, he's not even one of the best players on the team. He's just some average safety who never lived up to his draft expectations. I like that he's got some nuts on him, I just wish he had something on the field to back it up with.
  14. Mike Shanahan Two AFC Championships as OC with Denver in the 1980s. One Super Bowl victory as OC with the 49ers in 1994. Two Super Bowl victories as HC with the Broncos in the 1990s. Four playoff appearances and only one losing season as HC of the Broncos in the 2000s. ??? as HC with the Redskins. --- If he wins a Super Bowl with the Redskins he will be hall of fame material. Either way he's one of the more successful coaches of the modern era. The Bills never had a chance at him, but I would have been thrilled to have him. I like Chan and what he is doing, and I hope he has success here in Buffalo. However, trying to compare him to Shanahan is a bit silly really.
  15. Dean, Using google and copy/pasting random factoids regarding a topic you have limited knowledge in does not make you look smart, but it rather makes you come across as someone desperately trying to look smart. I notice you didn't actually contribute any haiku. Why don't you dazzle us with your mastery of the English language and the western haiku format? Or did you just want everyone to admire the fact that you can use a search engine?
  16. What would you base your analysis on? Your magic crystal ball? Or the fact that Chris Brown tells you that the Bills have "excellent special teams"? Moorman is past his prime, Lindell is average, and the days of the Stamer/Wire type special teams heroes are gone.
  17. Bills DBs are a bit better. Bills special teams look really really bad so far, and I would give the edge to the Dolphins there.
  18. lol great post Mort, I was thinking the exact same thing. Every season there are certain terms that catch on, and the announcers start going to them over and over again. Things like "chunk play" and "sugar huddle" come to mind.
  19. With the new rule change, I'm looking for the umpire to provide a lot of disruption in the opposing backfield.
  20. Some franchises are simply run better than other franchises. That is not to say that many franchises have totally incompetent people at the ownership or management level, just that the fact of the matter is that someone is the best, and someone is the worst (even if the worst is still not really THAT bad relatively speaking). The Patriots, for example, over the last decade have done a good job of finding good talent in the draft, and of attracting quality free agents. They have clearly done a better job of this than some other franchises. They don't need to bottom out as long as they have the same quality leadership and decision making in the front office. If you are a below average team, you don't do as well on the whole in the draft or in free agency, so you end up with less talent year in and year out. You also don't attract top coaching prospects as easily. It's a vicious cycle, and its really not an easy thing to break out of endless state of mediocrity. The easiest way to get over the hump is to get lucky in the draft and end up with a Pro Bowl quarterback. Getting a top quarterback can immediately turn a franchise around, and also help attract better free agents. There are other ways, but that is the most common. Although there are certainly late round draft gem QBs out there, your most likely chance of getting a franchise QB is with a top draft pick. So, your best chance of turning your unsuccessful franchise around is with a top draft pick - which you get by bottoming out.
