  1. Is this a hoax? I don't see anything from the Bills website on this yet, as of 10:41 east coast time this AM.
  2. That's correct. Just for a little history, he was picked during the Chan-era. The local media was anamoured with his size & thought he would out- physical defenders at the line, as well as for the ball down field. During mini camp after that draft, he had some sort of natural health ailment that needed treatment. I remember it was down-played by the Bills & he never saw much work the whole season. The next year, during training camp, I believe, he suffered some sort of injury & they put him on IR. So for 2 years, he was some sort of mystery man. By his 3rd year, I saw him on one or two plays at receiver in preseason with the 3rd's, no balls thrown his way. That year, though, he started playing on the kicking squads and he became pretty good at it. I've always liked the kid. It seems now, he's really coming into his own and I hope he keeps improving. I'd like to see him work his way into the regular receiver rotation & see what he can do there.
  3. The above poster may be a blues enthusiast & got Clay mixed up with blues man Robert Cray. Just sayin.
  4. Yeh, I bet he's bitter & negative all the time with his receiver corps, too.
  5. LOL! That video clip says it all. That Bill defender moved more like a pirate with a wooden leg than he did a top athlete in the NFL. "Comical" is correct.
  6. Hated those Jauron years. He coached trying not to lose rather than going for it to win. Two of the worst examples: At the Ralph against the Pats. 50+ mile an hour winds, he calls plays to get into position to take the lead BY TRYING A FIELD GOAL from about 25 yards out rather than work the ball in for a TD! Serious Dick? Seriously??? After the kick traveled about 8 yards, it took a complete 90 degree turn to the left and never even made it to the goal line! The other game was a 6-3 loss to the lowly Browns. Like watching paint dry!
  7. Dude, get an oil change. I'm stretching too. Getting my middle finger ready to use it toward "the Stillers." Go Bills.
  8. Ham, the grassy knoll in Dallas, 1963. Was there a second assassin behind that fence? The whole free world wants to know. Yeh, that's what all you lousy G-men say.
  9. I'm consulting HamSandwitch! He seems to have the inside scoop on this. Ham, what brilliance, you had this all figured out days ago. Never mind WGR, Jerry Sullivan (we shouldn't anyway), all the "insiders". Those that read Ham's post a few days ago on his "theory" was dead on PS: Was there really an assassin on the grassy knoll?
  10. I agree. My concern right now is that Bills opponents see our QB (whoever he'll be) and O-line as the weak spots. Therefore they are going to load the box on us & force the QB to beat them with his arm. Even with a good run game, it'll be hard for the offense to put up more than, about 24 pts per game. Our year will rise or fall according to our defense, and hope that our offense improves as the season goes. Go Bills
  11. I just think that the Colts are a stronger team right now than GB.
  12. Mastershake, I was just wondering yesterday when somebody was going to put this up. Well, here goes: Colts L, even with our D, Bills not up to being able to hang w/ serious playoff teams. Pats W, Bills D going to come after Garropolo like a piece of raw meat. He'll be the one that gets deflated. Fish L, tough road game, they got a QB, and Suh on D. G-Men W even w/ Eli, Giants are going through changes. Didn't bother with the scores. No disrespect, I don't care if the Bills win 99-0, or 2-0. A W is a W to me, that's the main thing.
  13. Yes it is getting the job done, Ham. Go Bills
  14. An entertaining post, Ham. But I think you're way over-thinking it.
  15. Tyrod's a good young QB. But I think he's got to learn to use his running more judiciously. Last night he took a pasting on one of his early runs instead of getting his yards, then hitting the dirt. If he keeps pulling stunts like that, he's not going to last long in the NFL.
  16. Welcome aboard, and "fasten your seatbelt." It'll be a great ride this year. There's a lot of knowledgeable fans on this board so if you want the good stuff, tune in here. They're way ahead of the writers and talking heads on the national networks. I'll drink a pint to toast your coming aboard. PS: FWIW, I'm not one of those super-knowledgeable Bills fans, just a lifelong fan. Go Bills.
  17. It's some green-ish gray jelly- like substance that clings to the bottom of boats in Lake Erie. Enjoy your flight to Cleveland everybody. Go Bills
  18. How true, just read it this morning. How can you not love Darryl Talley? Same w/ the Pegulas. What a great human-interest story.
  19. Good points on Kemp. He was a smart QB, but didn't have a great arm, it was adequate. Carlton, Shaw, Byrd, Gilchrist, Sestak & more, I remember them all. I too am in my 60's & watched a few games at the Rockpile. That's why I gave you kudos for getting their names into the discussion. Maybe the Rockpile should be up on the wall of fame, along with Lou & Cookie?
  20. Good info. Lee Evans was a good receiver, especially during such dreadful Bills teams he was on. But I think in his last few years, he became the invisible man. And Cribbs was very talented no doubt. But he had an attitude about other things. He jumped from Buffalo to the Birmingham Stallions for the big $, played about 8 games for them, then held out because he wanted more $. IMHO
  21. Norton, way to pay tribute to those AFL'rs. Question: How far off from your top 10 was Jack Kemp? For WIW, he would make my top 10. We wouldn't have won those 2 championships if we had a less talented QB. Go Bills.
  22. Shows you how much they disliked him. They don't even want to mention his name.
  23. That's why I think the title of the thread would be better served if it clarified with, "that you remember seeing." Can't forget those AFL Bills, though. They started it all. On a side note: Cribbs & Evans of this list? They were two "flashes in the pan." They had 3 to 4 good years, that's it. And Cribbs was a malcontent.
