  1. Last week it was 75% for EJ, 25% for Orton.
  2. Run defense looked great! I'm not terribly angry about the pick 6, that was simply a good play by the DL. Our running game looked good today, and when we stuck with it, it caused Houston to back off rushing the passer... Uh... uh... hm... that's about it
  3. Hey, nothing wrong with a weekly poll!
  4. "High profile winners" don't grow on trees, and aren't often successful after moving to a new team (for example Shannahan)
  5. As I've said elsewhere... Ideally I'd like to stick to developing EJ, since I don't know if Orton is any good. BUT, we also have too much talent on this team to waste... so I'm wondering if we should give Orton a couple weeks to see if we are any more successful in moving the ball. If not, then let EJ start and continue to work on improving through experience. My answer is very unstable at the moment, though. Not really sure what to think.
  6. Poll has been started.
  7. Saving face? I'd rather us get wins. If Orton can get us wins (dunno if he can or not, he hasn't played a whole lot in recent years), then we need to play him. We can't waste the other talent on this team.
  8. Well, it's inevitable. So here's a new poll.
  9. Last week I started a thread to see how people felt, it was a poll.... 25% wanted Orton to start against the Texans. Wonder what the percentage would be this week... last week I voted EJ... but... I don't know man... *sigh* I'd really, ideally, like to give him time to develop. But we need a QB to be able to hit open WRs at the very least. We have a very talented team, a team that should make it to the playoffs.
  10. I'm actually more concerned about this than the QB situation. The QB situation, EJ or Orton, neither is spectacular... our defense, however, is our strength, and we need them to keep us in games. Being down two starting LBs, and one of the best DTs in the league is very very rough.
  11. Indeed... really hope this kid can get it together. The Lions are going to be extremely difficult to beat... and then we have the Pats.
  12. Well, at least he has a great attitude.
  13. Yeah, I was noticing how frustrated Woods was with him, too. I can understand it, but at the same time, that's not professional behavior, he needs to cut that **** out.
  14. Whomever was calling plays today did a terrible job. Within the first quarter, you could tell that we could run all over the Texans... but yet EJ threw the ball 44 times throughout the game.
  15. Like I said in the game day thread... I'm generally of the opinion that you let a rookie develop for a couple years. But what we've been seeing from EJ (slow recognition of open receivers, and missing many wide open throws), it's testing my patience. I don't think Orton realistically gives us a better opportunity. It's been 4 years since he was last productive in the league, and even then, he was basically Fitzpatrick, make a few throws, but turn it over a whole bunch. Hackett as the OC makes things even worse, because today's game should have been an easy win, relying on the run game. It's just a mess that will likely end up being blown up in a couple years, again, unfortunately.
  16. The defenders just looked him instead of touching him down? Wow. Way to stay in the game.
  17. Seriously? Going deep into coverage when we have to march down? Just get the first down. Terrible.
  18. You'd think we would know slants are coming. Why do we continue with soft coverage?
  19. We need two scores? Yeah that's not happening with these jokers.
  20. This team stresses me out too much.
  21. What is EJ doing throwing 34 passes in THIS game? We could be controlling this game with the ground game.
  22. This team is meeting my preseason expectations now.
  23. Dammit, Kyle is out... Our D is not nearly as good without him. D is falling apart, O can't do anything right. I think it's gonna be a long 4th quarter...
