  1. Fitz had such studs as Donald Jones and TJ Graham, along with a defense that was expected to hold opponents with guys like Maybin, Kelsay, and Whiffler. I know QBs are a large part of every game, but they don't play the games by themselves.
  2. I fully admit to being wrong about his season, I thought he was going to have a lot of success with NO.
  3. Sucks for him, but I doubt the Patriots will notice, they can seemingly put anyone in and have success.
  4. YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME
  5. I keep seeing this bumped and get excited/terrified at the same time. I need an actual update. Or I'm going to lose hair I don't have.
  6. If Tyrod continues to play well, especially near the end of the season, I say we concentrate our draft focus elsewhere. If he starts to get figured out by opposing defenses, and doesn't adjust well, then I'd consider it if the right QB is there, but it's really such a crap shoot. IF we do draft a guy, I hope he's not thrown in there right away and Tyrod is completely forgotten about.
  7. Should Whaley be fired, or kept after this season, so far?
  8. How are Wilson, Tennehill, and Kaepernick possibly in the same category as each other?
  9. And no where in my criticism did I say he wouldn't improve, as was suggested earlier, unless I read too much into your posts.
  10. Technically Sunday and Thursday are on the same calendar week, so we'll win this week!
  11. Brady has been better defensed, but since Brady consistently improves his game in a variety of ways, he's stayed ahead. That's what Tyrod will need to do, fix his weaknesses, read defenses, etc as teams start adjusting to him. Never said that won't happen, but am acknowledging that he's not perfect, and I hope he continues to improve, so that when defenses do start planning better, he has the answer, and the Bills have long term success because of it. Not every QB improves or adapts to changing games, as we've seen with Kaep, and RGIII. But I think Tyrod has had a better development path than them two.
  12. Key word is 'relatively', meaning their performances compared to the Dolphins performances haven't been nearly as great. (Dolphins vs Non) TT-N - 75/108 - 69.4%, 820 yds, 7.6 ypa, 6 TDs, 4 INT, 94.7 RAT TT-D - 32/41 - 78%, 458 yds, 11.2 ypa, 4 TDs, 0 INT, 145.7 RAT KW-N - 30 car, 116 yds, 3.87 ypc, 2 TD KW-D - 21 car, 220 yds, 10.48 ypc, 3 TD Just saying, both players have feasted on the Fish
  13. Totally a fumble. The only reason why it wasn't overturned was because it wasn't 100% clear from the angles they had available to them. If it were called a fumble in live action, and challenged, it wouldn't have been called a TD.
  14. Unlike some posters, I'll be cheering if I'm wrong on my prediction.
  15. I do appreciate the good, I want to see it continue and improve. As Tyrod's career continues, teams will starting figuring out better game plans, and as that happens Tyrod will need to improve on various parts of his game, it's all development. Wishing for development isn't "waiting for it to get bad", it's hoping for long term success.
  16. Kinda fitting considering the styles
  17. Regarding HC's having power... I'd think the GM's job would be to get the players that fit what the HC wants to do as a team. HC says something like "I need these ingredients" and the GM stocks the cupboards with the best he can find. Edit: Bandit beat me to it. :|
  18. Very much agree with the bolded. Not sure if Whaley is to blame for that, but if he is, then there you go. Whaley missed on not drafting earlier, AND taking EJ. The rest he's been pretty damned good on.
  19. Responding to the poll: I think the teams are pretty evenly matched in talent, but with NYJ at home, and Rex being the coach he is, we might have another Patriots like letdown here. I hope our players play disciplined, we can't afford 100 yards of penalties, we need this win.
  20. I should have placed a '/s' tag at the end of my post.
  21. I want to clarify that I've been very happy with Tyrod's play for the most part, but there are parts of his game I'd like to see him work on for the long term, one would be holding on to the ball for too long. I forget the stat, but I think his time to pass is one of the slowest in the league. Some of that is him scrambling, which is awesome, but sometimes he needs to feel when it's time to get out of there a bit better. I'm sure that will come with experience. The only other thing I can really think of is, he seems to lock on to guys and not really pull the trigger unless he's sure they're open... but again, another thing that should come with experience (and I actually have this opinion of EJ as well, and have seen him improve on it, even with the Jax meltdown). Young QBs need time to learn, and being critical of certain parts of their game isn't 'putting him down' or not supporting them, it's having a vested interest in the QB developing to be a long term option. I was confused as to why Clay wasn't a bigger part of the game yesterday, he's a mismatch for every opponent. But, Sammy was killing it, so maybe Clay wasn't necessary And agreed on the big WR target, but usually the big WRs like that have enough speed to stretch the field as well, so why not both?
  22. Basically what I see, too. I mean, we picked up a vet who had upside as well, in Kolb. He obviously didn't work out. The next season we made an offer early to KO, but he sat on it until last second. So it's not like we were thinking the whole time that EJ was the only option. You pick a guy you like, you try to develop him and have a vet presence, and if he doesn't work out, you get another guy in a couple years. This time we got a guy who is a little bit of both, in Tyrod, and while his career/season is young, it's looking promising. I'd like to see the Bills take a QB in the mid-late rounds this next season (EJ's last on contract, right?), to push EJ in camp some more, and if that doesn't work out, the following season you take the best QB you can. The Bills missed on EJ, but the pick was understandable, and even with the Jax meltdown, I still think he is a decent backup QB. Outside of EJ, I can't think of much we've messed up on as far as talent is concerned. Now if you want to blame the coaching hires on Whaley, then I might be more in agreement with some of the others. Rex, while a great guy, has not been great for our defense. Roman is an improvement over Hackett, but we still aren't consistent enough (possibly due to injuries, we'll see).
  23. We already have as many wins as the team I was referencing, and last year we had our first winning record in a very long time. We're on the right path, its a slow path, and the coaching is suspect, but the talent is there.
  24. TT and Karlos want to play the Dolphins every week. Both players have been relatively mediocre against other teams, but have killed the Dolphins. Hopefully they imagine the Jets are the Dolphins on Thursday
  25. It wasn't that long ago when our punter was our most talented player on the team. We were rushing guys like Kelsay, McCargo, and Maybin. Our starting WRs included Donald Jones and David Nelson. I mean seriously... how can anyone deny we've added a boat load of talent in the last 4-5 years?
