Cushing wins re-vote

Hey JW, if you take Billsfan=pain seriously you'll just give yourself a headache, much like the kids poor ex-wife. Just a suggestion but it would be useful to sports fans if the sports media in many cases would not grand stand so much when it comes to positive tests. There are so many cases where I'll get sucked into some 2 or 3 page self-rightous opinion just to find ZERO information on what was taken, if it was a supplement that is laced (which is not uncommon), and if so show just a little bit of investigative reporting and explain the situation fully. It's ignorant that many sports writers are referring to what he took as a non-steroid. It is one of many illegally obtained products that a steroid user must take to attempt to restore normal testosterone levels in a heavy steroid user post cycle. It is an antagonist to most men's endocrine system and if dosed properly can in and of itself support an unnatural level of test. Juice heads are everywhere and magazines are brazen with this information, and you and your ilk by and large refuse to ever include the specifics of what was taken and educate adults and most importantly children on how they cheated, why it's cheating, and why no sane person should play God with their bodies with do it yourself chemistry kits made in some a*****e's basement. Just a thought. Every young person that attends college for athletics will be tempted and/or pressured into using. It's everywhere and chances are you are competing against someone who is using. It's an ugly truth that never seems to get confronted and young bodies and minds get ruined in the process. -
Is Roscoe a lock to make the team?
RealityCheck replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he doesn't make the team who cares? That just means that one of our younger receivers has stepped up in camp. -

I am not surprised, even with this news I could not have more disdain for sports writers than I already do. -
The lockout is coming, The lockout is coming!

Excellent research brother, I was way off. I'll buy you a beer at the stadium. -
Maybe he cuts and slashes like the other Simpson? Maybe Brady's achilles tendon is the target?

The lockout is coming, The lockout is coming!

They issued a statement? Well that must make it true then? Of course since the NFL has not publicly stated that there will be a lockout then it might stand to reason that the same strategy applies to the draft. If they were to issue a statement today that there will be a lock out and thusly, no draft, then starting today millions of dollars would be left on the table and it would nullify all potential opportunities to make deals and cash in on televising the draft. Why admit before the final moment of truth that there will be a lockout. Think of how merchandising sales and distribution deals would be affected if they made these admissions when it wasn't necessary. The draft makes everyone involved a lot of big time cash. When a BILLION dollar entity gives a simple yes to a situation that is contingent upon many unknowns at this time; they don't even bother to elaborate for good reason. The more words they use would only create more questions and it would be harder to reverse their position in the future. Later on they could simply say, "well of course we wanted to come to a fair deal with players' union as quickly as possible, but we never anticipated their lack of cooperation in this matter given he dire economic times we are in. This lockout is the last thing that we thought would actually happen given the efforts of the owners in this matter. Unfortunately we were wrong." Indirectly they will leave it up to the players to play the PUBLIC fall guy for the reasons why there is a lockout and thusly no draft. None of us should bother to follow this that closely anyway. As time runs out most of what we hear will simply be smoke and mirrors and posturing between 2 extremely wealthy entities. -
For the Sports Writers it's "Put up or Shut Up"
RealityCheck replied to Dr. Trooth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Awesome point. It really would say a lot about the sports writers' true point of view. -
Fullback Kyle Eckel worked out for Bills today
RealityCheck replied to muddy waters's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is McIntyre still on the team? Fullback is one position that we haven't really utilized in a long time. -
The Jets and their fans will get a reality check this year.

Guys, this starting front-five is a disaster
RealityCheck replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very true my friend. A few more successful passes in those particular situations would have been huge. Unfortunately we never did and it turned into the same old unhappy ending. I do think that this year will be different though. -
Kyle Williams Top Playmaker In League At His Position?
RealityCheck replied to yungmack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm no Stroud fan, but in all fairness, he is the one taking on the majority of the double teams by far. With the Jags Henderson did the dirty work with the double teams as Stroud has had to here. -

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a reasonable argument can be made that while the stats for our run game appear to be decent, we were behind early in most games allowing the defense to sit back and play zone. We were often seeing a base defense defending the pass with our run game as the big after thought. Once we would get within the 30, BANG! Run blitzes on the first 2 downs, often stopping us in the backfield on the handoff, and then the sack on the QB for 3rd down. It would run time off the clock for our opponents as they always seemed to be confidant in holding us to our BS field goals. Basically most of our success running the ball was when it was advantageous to the opponents' D to run the clock down just to stuff us at will when we got in field goal range. -
The reason we aren't going to go out and get a LT
RealityCheck replied to Russ 'Em's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Truth is always stranger than fiction. QBs and LTs do in fact grow on trees. Super Bowl caliber QBs and LTs do not. It will take a little time for the opportunity to get such players on our roster presents itself. During the draft none of the players available at either position impressed me more than any other at the same position. As far as trading for a LT right now I see no reason to over spend in terms of next years draft picks. Brown and Gaither are not worth next years second in my opinion. The Ravens have foolishly advertised that Gaither has motivation issues. Not a good way to begin trade talks when your looking for a 1st or 2nd round pick in return. -
The players get a pizza party if they make it!

RealityCheck replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why would I be terrified? I'm not the QB. If your worried about getting sacked in your own living room then I would figure that problem out first. -
Why are you omitting the fact that Brown was injured ALL of last year? A HIP injury on a 300+ lbs man who has to move laterally most plays while pass blocking. I don't think that the Bills are offering a 2nd rounder at this time anyway. Why get rid of Kyle when Chan already stated that there will be a rotation at the nose?

AP to re-vote for rookie of the year.
RealityCheck replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope Byrd gets it, he sure as hell earned it despite ZERO QB pressure. This year? Watch out! -
Your mastery of the obvious is breath taking, and you provided a link. Now it all makes sense.
-
In all fairness, our linemen's only chance to demonstrate what they can do requires pads and full speed. I don't think rookie minnie mouse camp qualifies.

You rang? -
I see no reason to rush the process. Ozzie is running out of time also. The cat is already out of the bag that they have absolutely no intention of resigning him, and they themselves no longer look at him as their starting left tackle. Add to that Gaither under these circumstances is probably even less motivated than before. If they don't move him this year he walks next year and they get nothing. At this point in time it would not surprise me if we are offering only a 3rd for him allowing a last minute move up to a second rounder if they really want him. Keep in mind also that this guy was a 5th round pick, clearly demonstrating as an example that some of our own late round linemen can be developed also. As a Bills fan if we get him a great price pick wise but it takes till almost training camp to get it done, I am not worried. He is a quality veteran that will pick up our offense by the end of August. The Ravens however would like to move their new blood into the RT slot sooner than later given that they have a relatively inexperienced player to move there. I hope we continue to play hardball with the Ravens. Playing this situation right is as critical as any game on Sunday.
