  1. Strong work, Rich! I especially like Tra Thomas; didn't know he was a FA this year. That changes the way we'd draft, as would a TH trade (can you imagine getting, say, Thomas, then getting two 2nd rounders like Vince Carter at C/G and Antonio Perkins at CB?)...Wallace in RD#3 would be a dream draft... 2. Right now, I'm looking at our team vs. the probable AFC powerhouses in '05 and '06, and, because I think we go with Kelsay-Schobel, I'm looking for a younger DT in case Tim Anderson doesn't work out. We'll also need one more guy in the defensive backfield who can return punts instead of Clements. On Offense, we'll need an OG, possibly a C (more likely thru FA), a complementary RB for Willis (probably a TH-type) and a tall great-blocking WR/ST. I also want a kicker in camp, but will most likely get a UDFA. Here's the order of need IMHO (No 1st or 5th Rounder right now) ROUND 2: OG Sam Mayes, Oklahoma St. Put him next to Mike Williams and Jason Peters at TE and you have Mayes 350 lbs., Williams 360, and Peters 328. They could all join hands and let Willis walk to the end zone. ROUND 3: DT Anthony Bryant, Alabama I'd take Nugent the kicker here if he's still on the board, but I doubt it. I really like Bryant. 6-2/336 is about what Phat Pat weighs, and 'Bama had a strong defense. ROUND 4: RB Jermelle Lewis, Iowa Great size, good speed, tough player, great 1-2 complement for Willis. ROUND 6: DB Diamond Ferri, Syracuse We don't have to look too far for a tough hitter who can return kicks. ROUND 7: WR Roydell Williams, Tulane Ask JP what he thinks of Roydell.
  3. Another idea is Sam Mayes at OG. Put him next to Mike Williams and Jason Peters at TE and you have Mayes 350 lbs., Williams 360, and Peters 328. They could all join hands and let Willis walk to the end zone.
  4. That's the guy, and he really wreaked havoc in a losing effort. Let's trade Sam Adams so we can have Williams and Williams. (Not Serena and Venus)
  5. The only good news tomorrow will be "Romeo Crennell to Cleveland; Bill Belechick now has no Coordinators".
  6. Great site. Thanks. We're 59 wins 69 losses full time against the remaining teams in the Super Bowl Hunt.
  7. I didn't feel great after the Steelers game, after the wide right, nor did I feel great during those 2-win seasons. I'm a Bills fan for life, though. I derive joy out of our TSW draft debates, 3x a week visits to training camp, reveling in a Bills win, arguing about a Bills loss. The joy of being a Bills fan --and the acceptance that 27 out of 28 teams are NOT going to win the Super Bowl each year--totally outweighs the pain.
  8. Then the Lord said, "You didn't win because only one team can win each year. All others can either feel like losers, or be thankful their team game them so much pleasure that year. It's up to you how you feel... ...Loser."
  9. A few snow showers expected, highs 28-31 degrees F. Steelers have left the field uncovered for snow, rain, sleet for 3 days already. Bet the UNDER.
  10. Moulds ranked this way in terms of stats, compared with his fellow WR's: 10th in receptions with 88 out of the top 20 in receiving yards 7th in passes thrown to out of the top 20 in receptions per target (catches divided by opportunities) 16th in first downs out of the top 20 in receptions inside the 20 16th in passes dropped Evans figures much better in the above categories except for # of receptions.
  11. I'm happy/sad that Gray didn't get a head coaching job in this first round. He certainly deserved a shot, even though I'm thrilled with the prospect of having him back again next year. Agree on your assessments. Nice work.
  12. Freddie Jones, hadn't heard of him. Turns out he caught 1 pass for 8 yards in our game, averages under 10 yards per catch, and did that real good song "In A Daydream" that was on his Freddie Jones Band album.
  13. 2005 Potential Free Agents Lots can change this list, but it's a starting point. For example, look at the pickings to get the Tight End FA temporary player we'll have in camp while we see if Campbell and Euhus come back to form: TE Becht, Anthony---Jets, 27 years old and there's a cap problem in Jersey TE Gates, Antonio---fugettabowtit. Won't see daylight. TE Jones, Freddie---Cards, 30 years old TE Franks, Bubba ---GBay, 27 years old but they only have 2 FA's to deal with TE Lewis, Chad 3---Eagles, too old (34) TE Mili, Itula ---Seahawks, 32 years old TE Cleeland, Cameron---- Rams---29.5 good temp guy TE Dilger, Ken ---TBay---old (34) You have to think that the short list is Gates, then Bubba, Becht/Cleeland, then Freddie Jones. Would we pay top dollar to spring Gates or Franks? ------- Now look at Wide Receiver FA's (LN FN Age and Team) I left off anyone over 32: WR Taylor, Travis 25.9 Ravens WR Bradford, Corey 29.2 Texans WR Edwards, Troy 27.9 Jags WR Givens, David 24.5 Pats WR Patten, David 30.5 Pats WR Burress, Plaxico 27.6 Steelers WR Caldwell, Reche 25.9 Chargers WR Ward, Dedric 30.4 Cowboys WR Streets, Tai 27.9 Lions WR Campbell, Kelly 24.6 Vikes WR Wilson, Cedrick 26.2 49ers Know that NONE of these FA's ranked in the top 20 in ANY sortable statistic on stats.com Source Outside of Plexiglass and Givens, would you want a FA WR?
  14. My feeling is that we will pick up a FA Tight End as a stopgap until Euhus and Campbell are 100%. We may cut the FA if both Euhus and Campbell are ready to go by training camp. Peters I think will be designated Super Special Teams player, arriving in a small orange bus each game.
  15. That's not his girl. Garcia's girl is Kristen Hine here.
  16. A longer wait time after you click can be partly ameliorated with the faster flash memory cards. Also, in general, the larger the memory card, the longer the pause before you can shoot again. I'd buy four 64meg cars instead of a 256 meg.
  17. TSW Draft Board I'll add your suggestions and compile them here Astro Your Draft Droid
  18. I like all of your picks. Strong work in the early going, especially when it's hard to gauge whose stock will be rising/falling...
  19. As the owner of a burnt orange Honda Element, I take exception to this poll. You either love 'em or hate 'em, sort of like the VW Thing. It's the most fun car I've ever owned. Good thing the Aztek will win this poll...
  20. These stats interested me. I was thinking that Christie was the best; now I'm thinking that Lindell at 40 yards and in has him beat.
  21. I'd have to add McGee and Fast Freddy. Our former returner --Antoine?-- didn't do too badly last Sunday.
  22. A season's worth of football clutter is beginning to disappear, A garage I can see the inside walls of from my Honda's rearview mirror. A basement workshop where I can finally find my hammer and my level, And an unused treadmill callin' my name--"Come, my friend--TSW's The Devil."
  23. I tried the bubble bath--tasted terrible. Went back to Jack Daniels.
  24. Merry Christmas to All. I am off to do some last minute shopping! (Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment) Astro Who To Watch in The Bowl Games
