White is not ready to start but the playoffs loom ahead. Get him into game shape. Pay the price for long term gain -
1/2/23 Week 17 Gameday Bills @ Bengals Pregame Thread
Nitro replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I will miss this game due to a prior commitment. Going to record it. This is the kind I f game where an unexpected player will step up and have a great game. Look forward to the Bills silencing doubters. Allen will captain the ship and the team sails to victory. -
I want the Bills to win. This might be the game that is the tipping point. Win and prove the skeptics wrong. Just win baby.

Joe Mixon flaps his gums a few days before a key game. What a rookie mistake. Never give the opponent bulletin board material. I want the Bills to quietly go about their business and win Monday night.

Would you consider the Boogie Basham pick to be a disappointment?
Nitro replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Context is important in assessing a draft pick and his performance. Bills needed to build up the pass rush. That draft the talent at DE was lean and dropped off after the second round. He is performing as well as I thought he would. The plan pre-Von Miller was to rotate DE to rush the passer. Look at those guys drafted after him and there are very few standouts. -

No he is not. I was in Chicago and there were times where he was not playing up to his previous capabilities. Those knee injuries take longer to recover from. He will be back to this top form next year. -

Simms has a good point White has not bounced back. Ha has made a few mental errors but physically he is still on the mend. Cincinnati will see if he is up to the task. Chase is a load. -
This might be the medicine Allen needs. I was in Chicago and that pass to McKenzie came my way. That double team burned him. Patience grasshopper!

Russell Wilson and His Divisive Entourage

He has struck me as a strange guy. Allowing this behavior only alienates him from the other teammates. Owner and GM are culpable in abetting this. A pox on that team. Feel for their fans. -
If trends continue there will be a significant turnover of personnel like it has occurred every off season under Beane. These conjectures are fun to participate in. They will let some name FA walk, keep others and look to the draft to fill key holes. Look for OG/C, WR, CB and LB to be addressed in the draft.

Goes without saying the importance of this game. Potential rain and moderate temperatures. That adds to the drama. If the Bills play smart, disciplined and mistake free football, IMO, they will win. I expect it to be close but the Bills hang defensively with the Bengals. Allen and the offense can dominate that Bengal defense. Patience Josh!

Tua coming down to earth is not a surprise. He has talent but limitations. DC have figured out how to stop his effectiveness. Miami should look for a new QB in the draft.

They were a friendly crowd Best wishes to you and yours The conversation turned to what position should they draft in the first round in the fourth quarter. Good debate was had. I recall those on this board not too long ago. -
Merry Christmas to one and all. Hope it is a wonderful and festive day for you and yours. Buon Natale!

NFL Week # 16 - Bills at Bears - post game thread

I am a realist. The Bills have come close to being a Super Bowl level team only to fall flat. This year, they have the talent to get over the top but have played sloppy football often this season. Pointing out the flaws that should have been resolved weeks ago is a problem? Every team struggles but self inflicted mistakes are brutal. I acknowledge KC and Cincinnati had tough games. We shall see if the Bills are able to over come mistakes next Monday night at Cincinnati. You can not have three turn overs and that many penalties against another Super Bowl contender this late in the season. The Bills are so close to the big game that I do not want another flame out like the 13 second game in KC. -

There was good but if pointing out on on TBD the flaws is an issue well so be it. If three turnovers, 9 penalties for 72 yards and missed assignments are acceptable tell your friend. -

Bears quit. Their fans were upset that they did not try to throw. I was sitting among a group of passionate but reasonable Bears supporters. They were baffled down by 8 and they basically stopped trying to win. Their words. Not mine. Laugh but those offenses are formidable. Be honest. The Bills are playing some sloppy and at times reckless football. Odd that it was not bad but only a dozen rows up you could feel it. -

You are wrong in your assessment. I am not analyzing those other teams. Just the Bills. This team is too good to make mental errors and having ball control woes. If they play mistake free football, they would be a juggernaut. I do not give a hoot about other teams. I hope that you are not okay with all the errors they are making. Defense had a great game today and should be lauded for it. -

Observations from Field level. Allen was not stepping into throws. Poor technique led to turnovers. Poor ball control by runners and receivers. Chronic holding. Overall a very sloppy game from the offense. On defense only thing of note is that White is not quite up to speed. He should be by playoffs. Burrow and the Bengals WRs will target him. A good win but this team makes too many mistakes. Teams like KC or Cincinnati will make them pay dearly. -

Bass was struggling with his kicks at this end. That miss was expected. Allen is not making smart choices so far -

Gusts from 18 to 20 mph. We are outside in it and as long as the sun is on you the wind is not bad. -

I am here in Chicago. Sunny, cold (6 degrees) with some wind. I have seen worse in Orchard Park. I think Allen will be able to pass effectively. Expect a Bills victory. -
Rest in peace Franco
