I think they play man which Allen eats up.

They played man about 25% of the time against the ****Pats and about 74% of the time against the Ravens. I don't think they have the players to play a lot of man against the Bills, particularly if Davis is close to healthy.

We need a Minkah Fitzpatrick level trade.

If the Titans lose their next 4 games will Byard be available?

Love Micah Hyde and hate to lose him. However, I don't think we are going to see a trade for a replacement, as I believe Jaquan Johnson is going to surprise a number of people. He is is not quite as good as Hyde in coverage (but not that much of a drop off) and I actually think he is a better tackler.

Definelty agree it's important to be healthy playoff time. Also, important to peak during that time too. However, it would be nice to rattle off 3,4, 5, or more wins. At some point, maybe a butt whipping loss might be benifical too.

Why? Does this team seem arrogant to you? Over confident? Needing a dose of humility? Just what is it that makes you feel a "butt whipping loss might be benifical?"

This injury report basically says Josh will have to produce more points then Tua as don’t expect many stops on defense. Going to have play soft cover 2 and not gamble. So Tua has to nickel and dime his way down the field. So Josh will have to make his possessions count. He’s done it before.

They are not exactly lining up a junior varsity defense against the Dolphins...

I own a Samsung I just purchased last Xmas. Doesn’t have a NFL widget at all.  I use mirroring off my iPhone to watch on the TV.

Doesn't your Samsung have an Apps feature that allows you to search for and download Apps? Most smart TVs have it. I just purchased a Sony OLED (awsome picture) and was able to download the NFL App. Works great.

You think it’s Williams ?  Austin Jackson is pretty bad and he’s on IR and their replacement RT is even worse.  Robert hunt is bad, eichenberg is bad

Yeah, Eichenberg has been pretty bad - maybe the worst over the first two games - although Hunt, Little, and Williams have all been pretty bad in obvious passing situations. Tua has relied on quick throws in the short to intermediate range. He has also done ok with the blitz, but he has really struggled when dealing with pressure from just four Dlineman.

The Dolphins not having Armstead would be the biggest impact in this game.

And the Dolphins D is, by far, the worst unit on the field.

Thats probably the biggest reason why the Bills are heavy favorites on the road.

Armstead has been solid in both pass and run blocking and that would be a big loss. The weak pass blocking link on that line is the center, Williams. If the Bills can get consistent pressure up the middle, it would make it more difficult for Tua to work the middle of the field in the intermediate range where Waddle has done most of his damage.

I think this is skewed because of the Ravens secondary allowing the Dolphins WR to just run by them.

No doubt. That 4th quarter was primarily the result of blown coverages by Balt, YAC, and turnover worthy plays by Tua that should have, but didn't, result in turnovers.

The stats I posted were more for a break down of throws by distance, YAC, etc.

Tua lives off the short to intermediate throw with YAC. He has good anticipation, a quick release, and accuracy in that range. When getting the ball off in under 2.5 seconds, Allen and Tua are both rated near the top of the NFL. Where Tua runs into problems is when he feels pressure or when he has to hold onto the ball for more than 2.5 seconds. When Tua throws over 20 yards, he struggles a lot. He's had 6 completions over 20 yds and 5 of them he had a WR wide open as a result of blown or bad coverage. The other completion was literally an interception that Hill then took away from the defender.

To stop Miami's passing offense, the Bills need to limit the middle of the field on Tua's intermediate throws (this is where Waddle lives), limit the YAC, and play disciplined in the secondary.

The reason he didn't get called is because he turned his back and put his hands up.

Smart vets know what they can get away with by doing that.

Right. This is just as Hyde hits the receiver:

    2123418886_Poyerhit.thumb.jpg.e2fdd0cecd6c0cf3701322386b6fa6d7.jpg

He was smart about it, but, IMO, he intentionally hit the receiver with his shoulder. This kind of thing had been going on the entire game. The Titans play a physical style of football and they don't mind crossing the line into dirty play - mostly off the ball. The very play before this one, Hyde got got laid out from behind by a Tenn WR. Completely illegal block and, as Hyde was getting up off the turf, the WR hit him again in the back. Tenn had been engaging in that type of play all game.

This wasn't a hard hit by Hyde, but it was a hit - and, again, just my opinion, he was sending a message. This team isn't going to get pushed around by physical teams.

Have you ever looked into the theory that his son Jason committed the crime and OJ took the wrap for his son because he thought he could (and did) beat the charge?

It's got enough going for it to make you wonder. It would certainly re-paint OJ in a better light as someone who was willing to be branded a murderer for his kid (though even that action has some dubious morality to it).

None of us will probably ever know for sure.

The evidence was clear for anyone who actually wanted to evaluate it honestly. It didn't matter. The trial became a referendum on racism in the LAPD and the verdict reflected it. It was a classic case of jury nullification.

Interesting take. Pass rush doesn't do much if they are three step drops and throws.

The critical issues will be staying relatively tight to these guys in the short zones, tackle after the catch, and don't get stupid by letting these corners be on an island without safety help over top.  They should be in a 2 deep shell all night and make them dunk and dunk all night.

Then play keep away with the football.  Run the ball and put some nice sustained drives together to keep the d fresh

Right. Tua's strength is a 3 step drop, 7-10 yd throw. He has a quick release and is accurate on the short throws. They rely on speed  and quickness for separation and YAC. Apply constant pressure with four and keep the YAC to a minimum.

Yesterday, 28 of his 50 throws (58%) were within 5 yards of the LOS and he completed 23 of 28 (82%). Those 23 completions netted a grand total of 25 air yards and 129 YAC, for 154 total yards and 2 TDS. 13 more attempts were between 5 and 12 yds and he completed 7 of 13 (54%) with 1 INT and 1 TD. He threw 4 passes between 15-17 yards and completed 2 of 4 (50%). He threw 5 passes over 20 yds. On four of the passes there wasn't a defender within 5-10 yards of the receiver and resulted in 3 TDs. On the only throw over 20 in which a wide receiver was actually defended, Tua threw an interception.

Tua had a good game. However, most of his success was based on the speed and quickness of receivers in the short passing game and the absolutely awful play in the Balt secondary in the 4th quarter.

Tough situation for Lance. He loses a year of possible development, the 49ers will do much better with Jimmy G, and now San Fran will really be behind the 8 Ball as far as how the future plays out. This doesn't bode well and likely pushes Lance more towards the "bust" column on the draft chart.

Lance played hardly at all his last year in college (30 Att), very little last year (71 Att), and now will miss the rest of this year after only 31 Att. Next year he will be returning from a bad injury and having only attempted 132 passes in three years. He may come back and be the franchise QB SF hoped for when they traded 3 1st round picks him; however, it doesn't look real promising at the moment.

The Fall of Trey Lance and Rise of Tua Tagovailoa

Then came … Tua Time? No, Tyreek Time. No, let's call it Tua-to-Tyreek time. Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill connected on two long touchdowns, with Hill so open on the second one that the replay comes with an agoraphobia trigger warning... This was a proof-of-concept win for the Tua-Tyreek Experience. Tagovailoa can underthrow Hill deep by 2 yards if Hill is open by 5.

    Re the *****Pats:

The team that cannot score because its offense is coached by feral meerkats traded punts, interceptions, and blunders with the team that cannot score because of Mitch Trubisky and the Five Traffic Cones offensive line. But Team Feral Meerkat Coaches pulled it out thanks to one Mac Jones-to-Nelson Agholor 44-yard bomb and one touchdown after a muffed punt.... The Patriots will hope 10-yard scoring drives are enough against the Ravens next week. The Steelers will broadcast a team of doctors studying T.J. Watt's shoulder MRIs for three-and-a-half hours as an alternative to forcing fans to watch them face the Browns.
