  1. Jackson has played really well this year. It will be interesting to see what happens when Tre comes back. If he is fully healthy, the other starting corner spot is Jackson's to lose, but Elam has been quietly getting better and better. And Benford should return in a few weeks and continue to improve, as well.

Regardless of who the other starting corner is, they will all see the field.

By mid season, this secondary could be better than ever, even without Hyde.

That is kinda true.  They are pretty much boom or bust. Have had a few long runs in there, mainly on those edge runs or toss sweeps, but get next to nothing up the middle usually.

I think the best plays have come on zone concepts (particularly outside zone), in which the the line actually is not that bad. When it comes to gap, they are awful, with the exception of Brown.

A lot of those yards are by Allen on scrambles tho, not the RB's, so it paints a false picture.

This should help paint a better picture...Bills are dead last in Adjusted Line Yards, which is explained below:

Adjusted Line Yards (ALY): Statistic that attempts to, even to a small extent, separate the ability of a running back from the ability of the offensive line. Adjusted Line Yards begin as a measure of average rushing yards per play by running backs only, adjusted in the following way:

    0-4 yards: 100% strength

    5-10 yards: 50% strength

    11+ yards: not included

runs for a loss: 120% strength

Each play is also adjusted based on game situation as well as quality of opponents faced. Adjusted Line Yards can be listed as total or broken down by direction to attempt to isolate ability of specific linemen.

Interestingly enough, they are 4th in Open Field Yards, defined by FO as:

"Yards which this team's running backs earn more than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage, divided by total running back carries. A team with a high ranking in Adjusted Line Yards but a low ranking in Open Field Yards is heavily dependent on its offensive line to make the running game work. A team with a low ranking in Adjusted Line Yards but a high ranking in Open Field Yards is heavily dependent on its running back breaking long runs to make the running game work. "

It was a rough week for everyone catching and holding onto the ball , except for Diggs but he's a freak, Singletary has been solid.

Even Diggs had a ball go through his hands at the goal line. I don't think anyone was immune from at least one play where they didn't catch or hold on to the ball

Why did Lamar wait so long to throw it? Duvernay was WIDE open. It looked like he wanted to go to Andrews, but Poyer jumped on him, leaving that vacant spot in the zone. But yeah it was an insane play to make it to the ball.

Jackson's first read was to his left and then he scans right (From All 22):

    (1) The 1st set of photos is when Jackson first scans to the right and Duvernay isn't open yet (Not shown is Jackson then quickly scans back toward the middle and then back to Duvernay)

    (2) The 2nd set of photos is when Jackson recognizes Duvernay is open

    (3) The 3rd set of photos shows Jackson trying to set up at the 15 yard line to throw (the video shows it better), but Lawson is almost on him, so he retreats backward. If he would have been able to throw at this point, it is a TD

    (4) The 4th set of phots shows Jackson finally making the throw at about the 20. You can see Poyer already heading over at this time. Jackson is never able to get set up because Lawson and Rousseau are chasing him and he can't step into the throw.

Because of Lawson and Rousseau, Poyer is able to make a great play

The Bills lost 7 regular season one-score games in a row going back to November 15th, 2020. which is 23 months or roughly 2 years.
Including playoff games the Bills lost 7 one-score games in a row starting the first game of the following season on September 15th 2021

Do with it what you wish.

There is nothing to do with it. It doesn't matter. It has absolutely zero relevance to anything current. Who really gives AF what they did or didn't do over the last two years?

How about the roughing the Passer call on Josh Allen late in the game?

That's about as ticky tack as it gets, though josh sold it well.

It wasn't a hard hit; however, the defensive player pulled up, had his head up, and saw that Allen had already thrown the pass, and then continued on to hit Allen. It was the hesitation and then the contact after the ball had been released. It is going to be called almost every time.

True but had Lamar seen him earlier it was an easy TD.  That INT was huge.

Lamar didn't get a chance to see the receiver earlier. He was running for his life from the pass rush. Had he been able to set up and go through his progressions, it would have been an easy TD. The pass rush gave Poyer the time to get over and make that interception.

The defense is about the best compliment you can get tho to an amazing QB...even if the offense has an off start to the game like they did against the Ravens, the D is going to hold you in it until you can right the ship...it wasn't going to turn into the 47-3 game that Allen played there in his first game.

Agree. This is not the same defense as last year. And when both are playing well, this team is almost impossible to beat.

Nice try OP. Allen is the best QB in NFL and the Bills win because of him. Harbaugh played for a TD because he knew a FG was not going to be enough to win. The defense looks very good but they got shredded in the first half. Fortunately they held for FGs otherwise the score could have been much worse. If Allen and the offense doesn't get that TD right before the half it is game over.

Last year's D was a fraud. This year it looks legit.

We will know more when White comes back and they play KC. Missing Hyde will hurt all year long but the CB play should get better soon.

The Bills' defense did not get shredded in the first half. Considering the turnovers and other miscues by the offense, and being on the field for 23 out of 30 minutes in that 1st half - I'd say the defense played pretty well.

Baltimore had two long drives the entire game andhad to work for every yard.

The D played very well yesterday.

I agree with you that Allen is the cornerstone of this franchise, but this is the kind of defense the Ravens won a Super Bowl with, and their quarterback was Trent Dilfer.  The combination of Allen and this defense is scary.

What they did with this defense was one my favorite aspects of the off season. They needed to improve against the run and getting consistent pressure with four. When this defense is fully healthy and playing well, and the offense is fully healthy and playing well - they are thebest team in the NFL.

And look what it has done for Rousseau. Matched his sack production as a rookie by the end of week 4. If Von gets 10 and Rousseau also gets 10 I think you have give Von some credit for the uptick from Groot too. Not all of it. Some is a 2nd year guy figuring it out. But some is playing across from Von Miller and the attention he gets.

I don't think you can over estimate the impact Von Miller has had on the play other Dline players, both on and off the field. I always knew he was a special player; however, I'm not sure I really appreciated just what he brings to a team until watching and listening to him since he arrived here.

The Steelers are a mess. The offense especially. It has the looks like the players have quit on their coordinator the last two weeks.
Pickett threw 3 picks and had a fumble in one half.
They might start Rudolph at this point.

Maybe they should bring back Devlin "Duck" Hodges. I heard somewhere he was much better than Josh Allen....
