  1. By your reasoning everything labeled "jazz" or "classical" is better than anything on the popular air waves. I call BS on that. Nothing but pretentious nonsense. Plenty of dull, boring, canned examples of jazz and classical pieces. I'll take Schon's soloing on any Journey hit over the derivative dullness of just about any "fusion" music any day.
  2. For Schon's sake, I'm glad they went "commercial." Imho, except for the drumming that song's terrible ... kind of like Spinal Tap meets "fusion." Better songs bring out better solo'ing be they commercial or not. And yes Schon felt "the master" Santana was taking the credit for his work. He all but said so when he said he did most of the solo'ing on the album and got no credit. And yes, Schon blows away "the master" too ... who only seems to be the master of bending one note repeatedly.
  3. Neal Schoen has done a lot of great work and can hold his own with anybody. I think he was pushed out of Santana because he kept blown the old man away. Schoen's work on "Stone in Love" is a good example of lyrical yet blazing work.
  4. Are you serious? I didn't think Page was the jealous type. But I guess drugs and ego will do that to you.
  5. what do you think of an Al Dimeola? is he a soulless shredder too?

  7. well then suck even more so we can draft higher next year and get a better QB. i dont think Clausen is worth betting the ranch on.
  8. Good analysis except Suh's a lock over McCoy. If Butler hadn't retired I would have said they take Clausen here, but with obvious needs at LB too they have no choice but to take the best OL and best LB available in rounds 1 and 2. The big uncertainty with all the stud LTs gone is which round to they go OL and which LB. My guess is LB #1 (Rolando McClain), OL #2 and #3. I think McLain is an even better bet because of his 3-4 experience at Alabama.
  9. That people place emphasis on QB weight demonstrates just how over board how it's gotten with body measurements than actual performance. He's already bigger than most HOF QBs
  10. Provided there was no disaster photo opportunity he'd be missing
  11. Its funny it almost seems like a continuos 13 round match, with Ray hanging onto a split decision even though he got tired in the later rounds. Judges probably have 2 for Ray, 1 scoring it a draw.
  12. He's absolutely right. We really won't know what we have until they get some protection Case in point: Cassell looked like a stud 2 years ago behind Pats line. Last year in KC he looked shell shocked and was often injured.
  13. I think the guy got punch drunk fairly young. You can see it in the last fight with Domi.
  14. Id call it Ray 6, Domi 4, 3 draws. Good for Ray as most would say Domi was the better fighter. Also looked like Ray got worse in the later fights as he got older.
  15. majority of hall of famers dont sound polished, something to think about

  19. The OP had Kid Charlamegne, which is Larry Carlton
  20. My word, but does Page butcher his own Stairway solo starting at 6:00
  21. the last thing we need is another team's "project" QB. particularly a failed one. and as disappointed as i am at times with donte, he's a much better player than campbell
  22. Elliott Easton of The Cars did some tasty solo'ing. here he breaks down his from Best Friend's Girlfriend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZuT6S1ZAug Bye Bye Love had some hot licks too
