Buddy Offers Some Insight On the QBs
loyalbillsfan replied to yungmack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the fact that they didn't go after a QB in the earlier rounds. For me personally, the only QB worth taking in the early rounds was Sam Bradford. A lot of people wanted the Bills to take Clausen, ...I really didn't see him as a better option than the QB's on the roster now. IMO, I believe Clausen will be an average QB at best in the NFL, similar to how our QB's have performed in their careers up to this point. -
I thought would take a stab at the opening day roster, I know there is likely more roster moves to come, but I'm going by the guys that are on the roster now. Here it goes: QB: Trent Edwards, Brian Brohm, Levi Brown RB: C.J. Spiller, Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, Corey McIntyre WR: Lee Evans, Stevie Johnson, Marcus Easley, James Hardy, Roscoe Parrish TE: Derek Schouman, Shawn Nelson, Michael Matthews OL: Demetrius Bell, Andy Levitre, Geoff Hangartner, Eric Wood, Jamon Meredith, Cornell Green, Ed Wang, Kyle Calloway, Andre Ramsey DL: Kyle Williams, Torrell Troupe, Dwan Edwards, Alex Carrington, Spencer Johnson, Marcus Stroud, Lonnie Harvey LB: Paul Pozluszny, Kawika Mitchell, Andra Davis, Aaron Maybin, Arthur Moats, Danny Batten, Nic Harris, Antonio Coleman, Jon Corto DB: Terrence McGee, Drayton Florence, Leodis McKelvin, Jairus Byrd, Donte Whitner, George Wilson, Byron Scott, Reggie Corner, Ellis Lankster, Ashton Youboty K: Rian Lindell P: Brian Moorman LS: Garrison Sanborn Practice Squad Candidates: Namaan Roosavelt Jason Watkins Marlon Favorite Walter Mendenhall Cary Harris Jonathan Stupar Dominique Harris Rashaad Duncan This assuming Schobel retires. Let me know what you think!

Bills can make the playoffs this year
loyalbillsfan replied to mike oxhurtz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Although I don't share a lot of peoples optimism as far as overall record goes...I am very optimistic that this franchise finally has a vision and is headed in the right direction for once. They have some keen talent evaluators and will draft the best players available that are also solid character guys. -
Our Offensive Coordinator
loyalbillsfan replied to BuffaloBillsMagic1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chan Gailey has a solid track record of getting the most out of his QB's and putting them in to a system that maximizes their strengths as oppose to going with a system and hoping the QB fits the system. Apparently the QB coach...I think his last name is Cortez...they hired him away from the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL has a solid track record of teaching QB's at the college, NFL, and CFL levels. -
$40 CJ Spiller jerseys
loyalbillsfan replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are these guys pretty legit...is it safe to order from this sight? Are the jerseys made well? -
I agree with you dude...i'm tired of people bitching. They don't see the big picture. Jimmy Clausen might have been the second best quarterback but this is a bad year for quarterbacks. Mount Cody will be a space eater, but look at him, he obviously hasn't had the will to hit the gym. Bruce Campbell is intriguing but raw. The Bills got hard working guys that will give the team everything they have. If you get enough of those guys around with talent, it will lead to great things eventually.

Six young Bills poised to break out...
loyalbillsfan replied to RyanW2279's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would love for Hardy to have a break out year...I have a feeling though Stevie Johnson and Marcus Easley will be ahead of him on the depth chart -

The Bills really made out well getting Levitre and Wood. I think both can be Pro Bowlers given Wood can successfully come back from his gruesome injury from a year ago -

I really like Stevie Johnson...I think he can be a solid possession receiver who makes some big plays from time to time...actually i'm going to call it now...he will be starting opposite Lee Evans at the beginning of the year! -
C.J. Spiller Youtube Highlights
loyalbillsfan replied to loyalbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree with it being an awful pick. I was a fan of them trading back in the draft and getting more picks to fill holes, but if a guy is too good to pass up, I say take him. C.J. Spiller in their minds was too good to pass up. How he does this year and upcoming years will tell us how good he really is. At that point in the draft, in all likelihood, he was the best player still available. The only players I would have taken ahead of him were Bradford and Okung....Suh if we were still in a 4-3. I respect your opinion, I'm just saying taking the best available prospect at QB, WR, OT, NT when the Bills picked at 9 were not as good of prospects as Spiller. -

Who do you think would have been the right pick? Jimmy Clausen? Brian Bulaga? Brian Bulaga will be a solid RIGHT tackle...Jimmy Clausen will be an average QB at best -
The Bills rebuild will take
loyalbillsfan replied to Bob in STL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we will be lucky if we win 4 games this year...what i'm excited about is the fact we seem to have some direction for the first time in a while. None of this 1 or 2 players away from making the playoffs and than we end up toiling away in mediocrity for several years. We're going to build this team the right way...with young, hardworking, aggressive players who love to play football. That may take some time, but in 2 or 3 years time it will be worth it. The Jets are playing for "Now", I am not sold on the Dolphins yet, and New England is New England, they're rebuilding a little bit but they are still the best team in the division. Tom Brady isn't going to player forever though. -
propose a nickname for Wang,Wood, Levitre et al
loyalbillsfan replied to birdog1960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All we need is a guy named Johnson on the line...than the commentators can say..."Wang, Wood, and Johnson with solid blocks down field". LOL!!!! -
http://www.youtube.ca/watch?v=SFcecMcS6bA Damn this guy is fast!!!! I was in awe watching him in these highlight reels. He reminds me of Marshall Faulk, but faster. Say what you want about us already having two good running backs...this guy is on another level. I think the only player I may have taken besides him in the draft was Okung...this guy is the most exciting player in this draft bar none! I'm pretty sure we got the best offensive player in the draft! Enjoy the highlights because this is what we're going to be seeing next year!

How this guy slipped through the draft is beyond me. He reminded me of Joey Porter watching him. Looks like we found a diamond in the rough here. This guy led the SEC in sacks which is probably the toughest division in college football

Short Term Pain for Long Term Gain
loyalbillsfan replied to loyalbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude I know we haven't had anything to cheer about in a decade, but I think you're being a little negative. Most teams don't go from worst to first in a year (Miami was an exception but they over achieved). This team has a plan for once, and they are going to stick to it. They are going to build this team through the draft and take the best players available regardless of position instead of drafting for need (ala Aaron Maybin). -
I love the Bills draft yesterday which I have stated in previous posts. Buddy Nix and Chain Gailey have laid the foundation for this team for LONG term success. I believe Gailey will play a lot of youngsters and let them learn. They will go through some growing pains which will probably lead to losses, however in the long run those young players will learn and become better players...the players that will hopefully lead this team back to respectability. When something becomes stagnant and doesn't grow, it will invariably destroy itself and dies. This team has become stagnant and has finally died. It toiled in mediocrity for years and things are now going to start a new. It's probably going to look a little ugly at first, but this team will rebuild and work it's way back to being a contender again. I honestly think next year we will be lucky if we win 4 games. I can live with it knowing that in the long term, this team has a plan is going to progressively going to get better and better. I am looking forward in a two or three years seeing this team back in the playoffs!

I know a lot of people aren't crazy about our draft but I think have some solid new players. No, we didn't find a franchise tackle or a franchise qb, and I know that's what the fans want...the sexy picks. But this is what we did do: We got the most electrifying, exciting player in the draft We added depth to our offensive line We improved our run defense with a couple of big guys up front We added some OLB depth with guys that may push for playing time This has too many holes to fill in one draft. Rome wasn't built in a day. I'm just excited we have some solid football minds that have a vision for once and they are going to stick to their vision. They are drafting high character, high work ethic players who are going to bring maximum effort on every snap. Those are the type of guys you need to build a long term successful franchise. Kudos to the first Buddy Nix draft...hopefully the first of many successful drafts to come!

After three rounds, here are some questions/thoughts
loyalbillsfan replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are still a lot of wholes to fill and I think people will have to accept the fact that they are not going to fill all their holes in this draft. In some way they still have to address some OL depth issues, but I don't think that warrants reaching on a player in the draft. I would rather see them taking the best players available than taking a long reach for a guy just because he fits a need. This team isn't going to find it's franchise QB this year and doesn't look like it's going to find it's franchise LT either. Saying that, if this team continues to stock pile solid players, eventually they will start to turn this team round. -
Give me your 4th Round Pick
loyalbillsfan replied to N.Y. Orangeman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some people or so whiny and negative on here. I didn't really no a lot about this guy and Troup but they seem like solid picks. If they want to build this team through the draft it's not going to happen in one year...they have to get pieces here and pieces there and eventually they will have enough talent to compete -
From what I can gather so far seems like the Bills are targeting guys who are solid "team guys" with high character and outstanding work ethic. I know not everyone agrees but I love both picks so far. Spiller is going to be a star and Troup is going to be the run stuffing nose we need, next up hopefully address the o-line...GO BILLS!

I'm hoping for Charles Brown!

Who will be the pick in Round 2?
loyalbillsfan replied to loyalbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the Raiders might grab him...he has the best measurables out of the three...and the Raiders love measurables -
I am calling Roger Saffold or Charles Brown...leaning more towards Brown...I think both solid picks!
