  1. Damn dude you are hard core! Sorry to hear about your stroke...I hope you fully recover! GO BILLS!!!!!!
  2. I'm drinking beer right now, so I thought right now would be as good a time as any to raise a glass to all the loyal Bills fans out there! Hopefully tonight is the first step to building a championship calibre team in Buffalo!
  3. I think they will give McKelvin the benefit of the doubt, but he could be on a short leash with a new coaching regime. The guy has all the physical tools a corner needs but like someone said earlier, he always seems out of place. He relies too much on his physical tools and not to be an a**hole, but the guy doesn't seem overly bright. I thought Drayton Florence did a terrific job last year. I though he covered and hit well and is a few blown McKelvin coverages away from getting back in to the starting line up.
  4. What we can gather from the luncheon today: They are not going to reach for a T at 9 if the top two or three or not there Seems like they are interested in Spiller and Jerry Hughes Seem enamoured with Tim Tebow. Usually when asking questions about most players they dance around a little bit. They were pretty clear on what they thought about Tim Tebow. I think Tebow will be a Buffalo Bill in the 2nd or 3rd round if he is still on the board. I don't know if he will last until the 3rd round though.
  5. I agree...TE is not a pressing need in this draft. Shawn Nelson is raw but has the tools, and I think Schouman, if he stays healthy can be a solid TE. We really need to concentrate on building our lines in this draft. Great teams for the most part, are billed from the lines out
  6. I think if the Bills end up trading Lynch for a 2nd rounder, and one of the top 3 tackles are off the board, I think the Bills will draft Spiller at 9. Then concentrate on getting their Tackle in the beginning of the second round or the possibility of trading back in to the first round to get their tackles if necessary. I like Charles Brown, I think he will turn out to be a solid LT in the NFL.
  7. I have a feeling the Bills will do something to get more draft picks...just a hunch. I really don't think the Bills are going to get their starting QB in this years draft...at least not for this year. That being said, this draft is really deep at a lot of other positions and if the Bills management play their cards right, they could come away with some solid players that will help this franchise for years to come.
  8. ...with the signing of these two running backs the last week, looks like Marshawn's days in Buffalo are numbered. It's not like these are monumental signings and it's a position we do need depth in, but looks like they're two bigger type backs that would fill the power runner position.
  9. I think Maybin has shown he has the work ethic when it comes to the physical part of the job, from what I hear he trains pretty hard. I think the knock on him so far has been more the mental aspect of the game, studying, inexperience so forth. His strength is his ability to speed rush, so hopefully this regime can find a way to utilize his talents and get the most out of him. I think if he can pan out the draft class the Bills had last year will go down as one of the better ones in recent memory. Wood (if he comes back completely healthy from injury), Levitre I think will be solid guards for years to come. Jairus Byrd...enough said! I think Shawn Nelson has all kinds of ability, and I think Chan Gailey will put him in a situation he can succeed (hint hint, not the play action 5 yard roll outs that we had him doing last year). I'm really high on Nic Harris...I just love the way this guy plays football...I hope the new regime sees it and can find a way to fit him in some how to their new scheme. Looks like Ellis Lankster and Carey Harris are going to be solid depth players.
  10. I think at this point it might be C.J. Spiller. The likelihood that Okung, Williams or Bulaga will be there at 9 is getting slimmer. Another reason I think it could be Spiller; it sounds like Lynch wants out of Buffalo and I think if they can get at least a 3rd round pick (hopefully a 2nd) they will move him. I really don't think Buffalo is going to gamble on Anthony Davis at 9. Another option, which I think is the most appealing, is that they trade down if one of the top three tackles are not available to get more picks. I think Spiller would be a better value say at 12 or 13 as oppose to 9. Armed with more picks, this could allow them to move up in to the later first round and get a guy like Charles Brown from USC (I don't think he'll be there when the pick in round 2).
  11. What would you guys think of picking up this guy? I think it would be a solid move. Sign this guy to a two year contract, gives you a little more flexibility in the draft and let us take the best player available instead of the the best player at the position we need the most...which would probably be tackle anyways.
  12. The Bills will not take Clausen. If they do, I may never watch this team again. Okay, that's kind of an extreme statement. I really don't think Clausen is a great qb and if Cleveland doesn't take him by pick 7, I think he will fall to end of the first round or possibly even the second round.
  13. Going in to this year's draft, or any draft for that matter, you have to take in consideration where the value is for each position. This year seems to be pretty heavy at T and DT/NT. Since we have holes at both positions I think it makes logical sense to draft and fill these positions in the first couple of rounds. But who really knows, if a player falls to you at some point that's too good to pass up, do you pass him up because you have other positional needs? That's why the guys in the front office make the big bucks. I thinks it's safe to say that the Bills at some point in the draft will take: a Tackle (s), a Nose Tackle, Wide Receiver, Running Back, Linebacker, Guard(s), and maybe a Quarterback (probably). Okay, okay, it would have been easier for me to list the positions they are not going to draft.
  14. I agree. You must build a solid football team from the lines out. They can make up for average talent at the skilled positions at least for a little while.
  15. ...and as for the Trent vs. J.P. debate...I thought when Edwards took over for Losman he was a breath of fresh air. He was everything Losman wasn't. He went through his progressions, found the open target, and made quick decisions. He kept drives going. Losman was capable of making the big play, but let's face it, he was a slightly better version than Rob Johnson, who was absolutely brutal!!! Somewhere along the line Edwards fell apart. I go back to that four game stretch after they started 5-1 in '08. They lost 3 straight divisions games and Trent threw 3 picks in the first quarter against Cleveland. After that, he became hesitant, his decision making got slower and he checked down a lot...more than he did before. He lost his confidence. When Trent first started playing I saw something special in him, I can't really define it, call int an "X" factor. Maybe with some good coaching and hopefully a rebuilt offensive line, he can find the player he was when he first came in to the league.
  16. All I can think of when they would throw to Royal....DON'T THROW TO STONE HANDS!!!!
  17. I know Clausen looks good on paper, he had very strong numbers last year at Notre Dame. I just don't think he has the intangibles to be a a successful quarterback in the NFL. I know analysts are not always right, far from it, but people are already comparing him to J.P. Losman. He has been described as elitest, entitled, immature, and his leadership ability has been in question. Now looking at him physically, he is fairly accurate, and has probably an above average arm. I don't think he can be an effective QB in Buffalo throwing down the field because I think he relies too heavily on his receivers going up and getting the ball...in other words he doesn't have the strength or touch to throw the ball down the field. IMO, if this guy wasn't in a pro style offense in college no one would even be looking at him. He reminds of me Mark Sanchez without the intangibles, charisma, or character.
  18. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/03/26/r...to-visit-bills/ I'm sure they are just doing due diligence but...this guys is the second coming of J.P. Losman. I'll be happy if we draft almost anyone else over him. I'd prefer one of the top tackles, Derrick Morgan, I would even take C.J. Spiller over this guy.
  19. They need depth at the position. Right now they only have two running backs on the roster. He wants to add another back that will give them some contrast to Jackson and Lynch's power running style
  20. Am I the only person that think this guy is going to be a solid football player? I hope the coaching staff keeps him and finds a way to get him in to the lineup
  21. I think Jimmy Clausen is not worth a first round pick...I think he is overrated and I really hope the Bills do not take him. I don't think anyone would be thinking anything of him if he didn't play in a pro style offense. He couldn't win at Notre Dame, so why does anyone think he'll win at the Pro Level? Analysts are comparing him to J.P. Losman...if that isn't a red flag I don't know what is I hope the Bills can get one of the top tackles at 9, if not trade down and get more picks!
  22. If they don't get their "guy" at 9, I hope they trade down as well. I would like to see them attain more mid round draft picks to rebuild this team. I'm a firm believer that good teams are built through the mid levels of the draft
  23. I would take him as long as not too much is given up for him. If you gave up a mid to late round pick for him I'd say do it! I would still try and get a qb in the 2nd or 3rd, preferably the 3rd, I think there's more value there.
  24. I think you'll see the Bills sign a free agent or two after the draft. I remember Nix saying in his acceptance speech that he would build through the draft and than fill in players in free agency. So, whatever holes they still have after the draft they may address at that time. I could see them maybe signing another player before the draft too.
  25. I could very much see that happening. My dark horses if they are available are Derrick Morgan and C.J. Spiller. I think Nix will pick the best player available. I trust him as a personnel man. Just say "NO" to Jimmy Clausen....I really, really hope they don't draft him.
