  1. I'm fine with that, move the statues to museums, but remove them as symbols in parks in the South that are used by neo racists groups as rallying points. Do it respectfully, but move them to museums that can better document and explain these icon figures role in the Civil War to the public. I lived in the South for a while and understand the depth of some of the old guard to the old south. But it is changing and its time give up some of the romanticism of the the Civil War. It was a devastating war for both sides fought based on both economic, but more importantly human decency issues. And those figures should not be used or disgraced by neo-nazis and other hate groups who have a completely different agenda.
  2. Now there is a response... very Trumpesque... Of course it is, only deal is its the Republicans this time talking about him being unfit for offense and rumors abound they may move to remove him. Already Pence is doing Public appearances and Trump is in hiding. So again make a prediction, do the Republican move on him and how soon? Republican are the only one that can decide this. Of course the Democrats will make as much hay about this as possible, plenty disengenous. But I am hearing the GOP may be moving on from Trump.... just not sure how widespread it is or so far only a few?
  3. Agreed, that is why I suggested that it is too bad that Yates couldn't make that read to allow Peterman to remain a 3rd stringer and develop. That being said, I still think the Bills should look for another backup if possible... but as of right now, Peterman is going to be the backup and Yates is going to have a tough time holding on to his job. No way should Peterman be the starter and should only come in in case of injury or the season is obviously lost 7 or 8 games in. TT should imo be that starter at the beginning of the season no matter how he looks in preason. Pt of History.... in the Kelly era, he would come in for a series or two run the team down the field for a touchdown or two, declare he was ready and let the rest the backups work. No way he had to play more than a series or two like TT to get his timing down. Not sure if the shorter workout schedule would effect that, but still TT looks rusty.
  4. There is talk tonight, this am that the Republican Leadership is turning against the President and word is that he may resign before they go that far. What do you think is the over/under on how long he lasts... and Pence is announced a President? I give it less than a month say before September 11.
  5. and Yates's throw to end the game is why he won't be a backup. The announcers said there was a miscommunication.... It was a misread by Yates. You can't see the DB sit on the under route and have the WR make the correct adjustment and throw it right to the DB. A little loft over his head and the Bills win this game and maybe Yates could be considered as a backup while Peterman is developing. What a brain fart when his job is on the line. Gotta make that read.
  6. 26 Peterman lookin good... bettin he starts if TT keeps playing like tonite. Granted different against 1s but Peterman sees the whole field, not half of it.
  7. Can't read a blitz to save his lyfe, can't throw guys open and wildly innaccurate tonight.
  8. Tough deal on Seantral probably shoulnt have lunged for a guy already going inside and just go for outside linebacker. Gotta read better.
  9. Know what they call a Dr. who finished dead last in his class. Doctor . . .
  10. Holy duplicate threads Batman... Someone needs a hug today.
  11. I'm mixed on that. No confidence in Yates, but Peterman needs time to develop and no sense in ruining him in his first year if TT gets hurt, especially early in the season. Maybe cut him mid-season if a spot is needed because of other injuries. Kinda like the hockey, most guys play in the AHL first or play special teams while the get used to the NFL speed and game. It is at a whole 'nother level even if the guy has talent. On playing with the ones, 4th game the O line usually plays most of the game... so keep the wide receivers in a little longer land let TT and Shady stay safe, while Peterman gets some reps. Yes TT needs some work on timing with WRs but I doubt he plays more than a couple of series in the 3rd game and maybe 1 series in the fourth, at least that is usually the pattern. Of course this is all my opinion, but if Peterman does in fact win the bkup role than he will need some work with the ones, even in practice towards the end of preseason. Then again, the Bills are not going anywhere this year, so does it really matter. Whatever is best for the long term of the team.
  12. The other thing in this convo is best combo. Swan and Stallworth though not GOATs were a heckuv a pair. The other guy who had stats was Gene Washington for San Fran. There were two back in those days by the same name. the other played for Minnesota. The Gene with San Fran I once saw leap clean over top a defender to make a catch. Guy could sky!
  13. I still think given the Bills' history you draft one high as a hedge... Patriot's seem to draft a QB every year or so because they don't know how long they have Brady and while riding that wave can they keep Garapolo long enough or do we even know if Garapolo is a good enough replacement despite their lying statements. Part of it is talent, the other is drive. Hard to evaluate drive at the next level because it is the next level and so far it appears we don't know Peterman's next level drive or if TT has enough talent for their system.
  14. . Nah not personal just wanted to pick a fight... hockey goon came out in me...
  15. . PS, not your concern?... ok I'll continue to take your facts with a grain of salt then... because you make them without esplaining them Lucy... It is a discussion board and is what it is... too each his own... have fun
  16. On Peterman, I did and stated as my opinion from what I saw of him and the other two during preseason games and stated as such. Guess you don't read or remember so well. Again on Manzel your pointing out his defiencies were black and white on being able to read a defense. I disagree that he couldn't, he didn't do it enough because of his arrogance and reported lack of coachability due to his lack maturity as exemplified by his off field issues. He showed moments though and that what was so intriguing about him. But then again that is just my opinion from afar.
  17. And that's the problem I have with your writing. I don't know how you arrive at your assessments... you don't share them, you present them as facts... arrogantly so when someone questions them or disagrees. Write what you did above but with a little humilty. PS "the running around like he did in Texas" can work in the NFL and has... Tarkington, Manning, Elway, Favre to name a few... He couldn't read a defense? Maybe not, but where and how did you arrive at your opinion. His immaturity prevented any of that and he showed moments where he did read a defense well imo. But his arrogance and lack of coachability prevented any of those issues from being addressed.Again thanks for engaging and I hope despite my condescension, you consider my feedback and better backup your assessments using less black and white statements.
  18. Hard when I'm using an iphone and yes I know the difference, again you're a good writer, and Manzel had some Flutie like talent imo (NFL possibly capable if developed properly imo) but to dissmiss talent v his stupidity is another story. Again I said imo, not fact. The previous posters know how present arguments. Learn how and you will be a much better talent. You have arm strength, not sure though if you can analyze a defense, but you have potential. PS, I play hockey at a much lower level, but know the game and have been watching football since the Juice came into the league, so I have seen a thing or too and know QB is the hardest position to evaluate and a lot depends on the coach to figure out that talent and best use it. Again state things as opinion, point out flaws you see, not as someone else does. I think too often repeat others' opinions.
  19. . See and this is an obviously educated observer that shares his observations as opinion, not fact and gives reasons to back them up 26. You could learn something from Gunner... I did. Though I think Peterman has a chance to develop and arm strength can be vastly improved with proper training. Agreed smarts and accuracy is over used. Want to see himin higher level competition. He seems to scan the field well and read and look off defenses... whether he can develop strength and accuracy under NFL pressure remains to be seen and is a big if as with so many of these young QBs
  20. Took the bait on Manzel, you obviously dont know how to check your arrogance. You bait and switch too much and repeat things as if we disagree on on them when in fact that is not so. Either you have a reading comprehension problem... doubt it because you are to good a writer, or your myopically wed to your opinion so much that the slightest lack of fawning sends you into a tizzy. No wonder you couldn't hang on Sabrespace.. updates were great, but hockey evals... not so much.
  21. Not voting... they look promising but no idea at this point. No to early to tell choice.
