  1. It's official....he's out until Oct. 3rd. Rough sledding for those games, with Jets, Cards and Pats. Yikes...
  2. ^^^^posted in the other thread, but this seems quite relevant at this point... And yet, he might not have known it was Crohn's / Colitis, but he certainly knew the effects marijuana had on him, in that it helped aid his appetite and in the process of digestion.
  3. ^^^^I'm referencing this as it now appears all the more relevant
  4. Aikman, a nemesis to the BILLS, but hearing him during a game is a highlight of its own, he's one I like quite a bit. As an added bonus, he dropped this bomb!! Awesome!
  5. I know nothing about the play of Lewis, but I'll say this: the BILLS have done a relatively solid job in finding good talent from other teams and if they believe that his value is above anyone else outside the entrenched starters on the line, then I'm good with it. To me DW in this regard has earned our trust. No GM is perfect, and no GM has all the information, but far more often than not in the last few years, these kinds of moves wind-up being good ones. Additionally, he did start for a Super Bowl caliber team and as others noted, he was quite good on that line, so maybe he as a player has earned at least a short leash from us as fans to see what he can contribute.
  6. Given the truly obvious need with Dareus' absence, it would almost be *too* logical to bring him in, based on experience with 3-4 and the position he fills. I can't understand the process if DW doesn't at least make a call and try to get him to come to Buffalo for a visit.
  7. I certainly understand your hesitancy to feel confident about the BILLS' game playing in the opening game, but I do think the Defense has played exceptionally well all things considered. And for reasons that are difficult to quantify, I think their Defense takes a major leap forward. I think they're going to have a good year, and I don't think it will take several or even 2 games to make a statement. I think the Offense will be rusty for all the reasons you stated, but I think the Defense from the first snap to the last, shows quite well throughout the year even without Dareus the first 4 games. Just, IMHO of course...
  8. I haven't forgotten - I simply disagree that it should have ever happened in the first place. Now, with new CBA, stfu take your money and go earn your next contract. Play with some passion, humility, and gratitude. As for precious CBA, players took as much as they could, fine - that was the system, but no one will convince me they "earned" it...just take a long look at the litany of 1st round busts.
  9. Not to mention, you...are....a......rookie. Who has proven nothing in the NFL. You're able, based on talent, industry demands, and your own hard work (kudos to two out of three) to sing a document and guaranteed millions of dollars when you're barely old enough to drink, and you want MORE guarantees? Really? How about you go play the f-in game, prove what you're worth and when your 2nd contract comes up, you can significantly increases your value, thereby increasing your return. It's odd to me how many people take the side of the player....the organization needs to mitigate some risk here as well, and in light of the information about off-sets and deferments, it would seem all the more - Bosa, just go play, keep your head down, work hard, be a great teammate, and love the franchise for giving you an opportunity less than an a extremely tiny fraction of people will ever get. Go prove it before you demand it.
  10. The NFL is the only career I'm aware of where an employee can demand a value they have yet to prove.
  11. He is supremely talented. If he can keep his disease in check and maintain his health, while getting better at the NFL game, he really could have a very solid / good career. Needs to build his strength and conditioning back to game day caliber first though. Best wishes! Also, on a side note it explains the marijuana frequency as to helping him eat and keep a strong appetite. No joke intended, there are certain medicinal benefits despite its preclusion from NFL life.
  12. I remember reading through this board when Marv Levy was the "GM", and they kept bringing in "high character guys", and many on this very board would say, "Save me the self-righteous crap, just give us some players! I don't care what they do off the field!". And now, we have this...personally, I would consider myself a moderate, choir boys don't move me (since I'm not a Monsignor) and great talents who are a total waste of human beings make it impossible to truly root for the team. Somewhere in between, and best I can tell DW has done that...just IMO
  13. I will tell you this, the fact that we can actually *have* this debate, is phenomenal! I can remember some very lean years when it came to Corners / DBs and to have potentially FOUR that can play and maintain similar quality of coverage / abilities, is FANTASTIC! Additionally, while DW has struggled in certain areas or positions, if Seymour continues to progress (and that's a big if), his prowess for DBs is outstanding.
  14. In all due respect to the OP, what amazes me is for YEARSSSSSS we as BILLS fans have been screaming for a legitimate NFL Head Coach / OC / DC and now this team has all of that!! And NOW, there's the idea of tanking the season for a new HC??? Really?? I really like Roman, A LOT, I think he's the first legit OC Buffalo has had in quite some time, but this is just....over the edge, IMO.
  15. Damn billionaires and their logic....pfff....
  16. And that's a fair point; however, we know in this league, and especially with Tyrod's potential for injury due to his type of game, isn't it worth it to know that the entire season isn't derailed due to an injury? And, Foles still had a better passing statistical season than any QB for Buffalo since Flutie. If you remove the teams out of it, and put him in a BILLS uniform and change OCs twice in 3 years, and just 27 years old, most people would be saying, "Give him a chance in Roman's system". And - I don't think he would demand a top tier contract because the Rams already have to pay him richly - but that is merely speculation. The final dollars will tell the story. However, thank you for the explanation. Appreciate the time you took to respond.
  17. I guess I have to say, "Yes, seriously"...if you're going to criticize, how about you make a cogent argument for your reason rather than just, "Seriously?".... To hazard a guess, I'm thinking you don't like the two years fully guaranteed suggestion? And why? EJ is gone after this year, maybe even after camp, and you're going to need a competent back-up - assuming he doesn't rise to the Starter's job at some point, so why would it be "seriously"? As for 4 years, he's only 27, just turned 27 in January, so why is that an automatic "seriously?"...? Elaborate please.
  18. I would think Foles' release and FA availability makes this extension improbable, IF the BILLS are as interested in Foles as being reported. That would be investing a great deal of money into two players that can only play one position. I would also think, if the BILLS gave Tyrod a big deal before signing him it would signal that the BILLS really only see Foles as a back-up, instead of a "possible" starter. I think getting Foles to Buffalo could be a stretch for the immediately aforementioned reason, but Tyrod being on just a one year deal currently, makes it at least a reasonable consideration. I would sell Foles on the idea that he could come in and learn the Offense, without pressure to be the #1 guy, and an opportunity to be the future if he proves himself and then offer him a 4 year deal with two years fully guaranteed.
  19. I'm not sure what that's in reference to...clarify please?
  20. To me, this interview being a revelation of who Incognito truly is - beyond the presumption of persona - is the epitome of why Doug Whaley deserves much more credit than he gets from a number of fans. Whaley has something to prove for sure, but this type of re-discovery of a player such as Richie shows exactly why Whaley deserves better than what he's received as perception in some socia circles.
  21. Personally, I think Tyrod's ability to stay healthy and play AT LEAST 15 games this year, presuming he's not injured for the last one (and into the playoffs *if* the BILLS make it there) will have as much to do with his extension - should he receive one - as any other factor. He's a hell of an athlete and has all the talent in the world, but is shorter, a little slighter in frame, and is not a traditional pocket passer, all setting him up for being injured 3-4 games per season...which, is problematic for long-term viability. I like Tyrod and certainly hope he demonstrates significant progress from last year to this, but I'm not overly optimistic about his ability to take hits and avoid crushing blows outside the pocket.
  22. So, what you're saying is: it can happen in Minneapolis, but *not* Buffalo? Why is that exactly?
  23. The issue in my mind, is that the best QBs have one thing in common: they generally remain healthy and are durable over time. Something that Tyrod Taylor that has not yet proven, to no fault of his own. Gilmore is a known commodity and while I certainly *hope* Taylor can be that kind of long-term QB the BILLS are desperate to retain, I just am not sold in one season for the type of commitment required in terms of money and deal, again IMHO....additionally, while all reports are that Taylor has significantly improved with his throws across the middle, I'm still of the opinion that the best NFL QBs are pocket passers and first and foremost cerebral type QBs due to the speed of the NFL and complexities of both the Offense and opposing Defenses, and once again, I'm just not sure that Taylor fits that requirement in both senses....I just don't know...therein lies the crux of my opinion.
  24. At this point, I would rather pay Gilmore than Taylor
