  1. As tempting as it is to move up in the second. My thought is that we should stay put with #41 overall and give away our 3rd and 4th round picks to get back into the 2nd round. We should get 2 of the following 3(5).

Claussen (WOW Bigger fall than Rodgers and Quinn)

Bruce Campbell (shouldn't be available) or Roger Saffold

Terrance Cody (shouldn't be available) or Cam Thomas

    (CHECK THE SINGATURE)

Agree. Stay at 41 and use other picks to trade back into 2.

  2. It seems to me that the Bills have to trade Lynch because he'll be a malcontent if he's not. They are gonna have to back off their second round demand in order to do it. A third would be a steal for Buffalo a fourth is more likely. JMO

Nonsense. He doesn't have to be happy. He has to play. Period. Bills don't have to do a damn thing except not give lynch away for nothing.

  3. Here are a few other big bruiser backs: John Riggins, Jim Brown, Larry Czonka, Christian Okoye, Earl Campbell, Cookie Gilchrist, Mike Alstott. There are surely many more that just haven't popped into my head.

BTW, Lynch is the Bills bruiser, and if his situation isn't resolved to Nixley's satisfaction, I believe the Bills will draft a roadgrader back later in the draft. I'd be happy if that guy was Gerhardt.

He won't be there later in the draft. Probably gone in 2nd or 3rd latest. And Gailey already said he wants a scat back type of RB.

  4. why would anyone in the right mind, who has paid attention to the NFL over the past 10 year send a coded message to the arm pit franchise of the NFL. Seriously, do you think players REALLY want to get drafted by Buffalo? That's are biggest problem problem right now is that everyone views us as Oakland east with a crappy economy and a decaying society.

This problem can get solved if we win over the next few years but right now, being a Bills fan is depressing because nothing being done points to anything but another long horrible season.

No that's how YOU view things. I bet you not one of these draftees knows a thing about Buffalo or any other city because they've never been there. Have some pride and stop whining.

  5. Why does anyone want to add another gimmick player/return man to a team built around gimmick players and return men.

Spiller is not some every down stud RB. He is a Reggie Bush like 10-15 touches a game guy. Drafting him will only hurt this team.

Spiller will touch the ball a lot more than that. Why do you think he's a gimmick player? Did you watch him run the ball? Did you watch him catch the ball out of the backfield and from the slot receiver position? Why do you think Reggie Bush and not Chris Johnson who just rushed for 2000 yards? He's no smaller than CJ with the same speed level.

  6. Sounds like a leader in the making, I like it. Maybe that's why he's being figured into the equation, because truth be told- we really shouldn't be considering a RB at 9 unless he's bringing something else to the table like leadership.

How about bringing touchdowns? An ability to score from the slot receiver position or out of the backfield; in the return game or running the football; and doing it from anywhere on the field at any time. Those things are reasons we could take him at 9 if he's there. He's a dynamic playmaker. Who do the Bills have that can do all of those things? Better a playmaker than a "solid" LT who is considered the 3rd or 4th best LT. Can get a solid LT later in the draft.

  7. From roto...

Based on forty-yard dash time, Terrence Cody will become the slowest defensive tackle to be drafted in the last 20 years this week.

Cody's 5.66 forty time is rivaled only by former seventh-rounder Corey Swinson (5.62 in 1985), fifth-rounder Tim Roberts (5.51 in 1992), and 2009 Patriots second-round pick Ron Brace (5.51). "This guy doesn't have any first-step quickness," observed a scout of Cody. "He's a big, fat blob," added one NFC personnel man. "He's a big media creation. He cannot move at all."

Not too flatering...this doesnt mean he cant over come this, I mean Tom Brady had one of the worst combines ever in terms of athleticism. However, Cody's position is quite a bit more affected by athleticism, or lack there of. I have not been high on him at all thus far, and this sure didnt do a whole lot to change my mind...

He's a run stuffing D-Tackle. He ain't running 40's. That's meaningless. Look at his split times and 3 cone drills. I bet they are pretty decent. And he's quick enough. Watch the tape of the past two seasons.

  8. at # 9 I think there are a few guys who would be safe pics if they are there ; spiller, Bulaga and trent williams, McClain, and derick morgan. and someone i really like if we could trade back a little would be Iupati. I know many of you dont think we need another guard but he would give us great depth /insurance if wood doesnt come back. or down the road move wood back to center.

The Bills don't need to draft depth/insurance in the first round. They can do that in later rounds. 1st round picks needs to be able to play and start preferably. Now if they took Iupati and moved Wood to Center, okay. But in that case I'd prefer Pouncey from Florida.

  9. I think McClain would be the safest pick. Clausen could be a bust. Bulaga could be a bust, see Gailery. Spiller could be a bust, see Lynch.

Trade down, stock-pile picks. That way the busts won't hurt as much, unless you are Dallas and all your picks are busts.

Lynch is not a bust. One bad year doesn't make you a bust. He was very good his first two seasons. I think you need to readjust what you consider a bust. Mike Williams was a bust. Three to four years of limited to no production. Lynch has produced quite well for the most part.

  10. While I agree Suh is a BEAST, I dont think that he would be a NT here. Granted Im not a scout and all, but nowhwhere i read has him being a NT, a 3-4 DE at best, and a DE in the 3-4 isnt worth a pick that high, as the OLB and NT are the most important pieces of this defense.

Bruce Smith was the first pick in the draft and now a Hall of Famer. He was a 3-4 defensive end.

  11. Dude, dont worry about how much Tebow will cost if he is selected at #9. The dude is a GOD in Florida and has a huge fan base especially in the Christian world. He will generate so much revenue for any team. Tebow, will pay for himself and then some. Im a NYer who has been living in Florida since 2006. So believe me when I tell you that Tebow is a God here.

I don't care about any of that. I only care about wins. They should only draft him in Rd. 1 if they think he can play now. If he can't play now, then don't waste that pick. But Buddy Nix has done everything he said he would do so far and he has said that a player at #9 needs to be someone who can have an impact right away. That ain't Tebow. And Tebow ain't Jesus either. Folks need to get a grip. Kid is being set up to disappoint a lot of people (in terms of off the field life) who have no common sense. He's seemingly a good guy, hard worker, etc. He is not and will not be perfect.

  12. I'm thinking more and more that Buddy will trade down at #9 for an extra pick. In fact, I think he may trade down more then once during the 7 rounds, unless he trades Lynch for a pick or two. The entire tone from OBD since Chan came in and free agency came and went without a QB, OT, or WR anyone has heard of being signed, has been REBUILDING SLOWLY USING 90% DRAFT.

So after ESPN comes back from commercial, don't be too shocked to see the next team after Buffalo "on the clock" and Boomer describing Buddys' trade down.

Would love it if they traded down. They could still get Graham, Hughes, Saffold, etc. later in the first and having extra 2nd and 3rd round picks would be great for other moves or staying put and taking good players. But if they stay at 9 has to be an impact player even if it's not an OT.

  13. Bulaga gave him one sack....not bad for going against the best pass rusher in the college ranks...

Instead of listening to what is written you really should check out this guys game film...they even started lining Morgan up on the opposite side to get more production out of him...what does that tell you?

I actually watched the game when it was on and I did watch some of it again on youtube. The game is about more than sacks. He gave up one sack and what else? Graham was in on a LOT of plays in the run game, he was pressuring Stanzi CONSISTENTLY and Bulaga was chasing him and how many of those pressures created sacks for other Michigan players?? Did you watch the game??

My point wasn't that Bulaga isn't a good player. My point was that he has some issues and to take a player at 9, who is only a "solid" player, might not be the wisest move. Trade down and get him later in the round if he's there. At 9 they should be getting a DYNAMIC player. They can get a "solid" lineman later in the first or in other rounds altogether.

And the GT games tells me Morgan is not as explosive as Graham and I would still take Morgan over Bulaga at 9 because he will give the Bills more impact.

  14. I agree reaching is the reason for so many blown first round picks last decade. No one is advocating taking a tackle for tackle sake the ideal situaiton would be to get one of the two buddy likes .

I hear you, but I'm seeing a lot of posts from other fans with the sentiment being they HAVE to have a LT in rd. 1 over any other position. I agree, if one on Buddy's list falls to 9, take him. We can assume Okung is one of the tackles and he will be gone. So is the other OT Williams or Bulaga? And both of them might be gone by 9 anyway; although I think Bulaga might fall into the teens/twenties.

  15. I'm all in favor of hoarding draft picks. If we can get extra twos and threes for Lynch, Whitner, and even Schobel, I say do it. (Assuming Schobel will retire from the Bills but would consider a trade to a Texas team. Otherwise I keep him.)

    PTR

Whitner is not going anywhere get over it. Schobel is already gone to me. Hopefully he's no consideration on their draft plans. They still need OLB whether he returns or retires. Lynch could be out the door, but they shouldn't give him away and I mean anything lower than a 2nd round pick. But I wouldn't trade him at all. No reason to create another hole.

  16. no one is arguing this i s a not is a deep draft, it is not a deep tackle draft.

Developing a tackle is one thing and that can cleary be done but the teams needs a day one left tackle and that is why people are advocating a first round pick be used for one.

I am exciting for what buddy will do in the draft and I thing we will come away with 3,4 maybe 5 starters

I've said this the past two days, but getting a LT just to get a LT makes NO SENSE. Like Nix said if they can't come in from Day 1 why waste the pick? The Bills have already been developing Bell; hate to disappoint some folks, but Bell has more athleticism than Bulaga and more upside too. Like Nix said, they have a different opinion of some of their own players than the media does... So it sounds like there are two LT's the Bills like in the top 10. If one is available we shall see if Bulaga is one of them. He's a good player, but an impact player? I'm not sold on that one and in the top 10 I want impact.

  17. Solid is not what you want at #9

the only sure thing at 9 may be Spillner and then tackle in the second round

Exactly. A team can get "solid" players in round 2, 3, 4, etc. In the top 10 a team has to get the

most dynamic player available. To me, it's Spiller or Morgan if the draft plays out the way most

have it going. And if they take Tebow at 9 I might break the flat screen!

  18. The guy was solid all year long and kept the best DE in college football, Derrick Morgan, in check every time he lined up across from him in the bowl game I watched. I think he's going to be a quality starter in the NFL @ OT. He has good feet, good strength, drives through his opponent to finish blocks, and looks to make blocks downfield after the initial contact.

Yea and Brandon Graham undressed him in Iowa. Which one is it? I don't think Bulaga is going in the top 10. 15-25. I think this will be one of the surprises of the draft.

  19. For those that know he is consistently one of the best at Mock Drafts:

    Rich Gosselin's Mocks

    Sunday April 11, Mock #1

    Sunday April 18th Mock #2

Third one to be something like the 21st or 22nd

I HAVE been predicting the Bills draft Bulaga but it is looking like he will be gone by pick 9. Trent Williams may still be there.

Clausen will almost definitely there. As will Davis.

I do not buy the Mel Kiper "rumor" nor nevergiveup. There's a new sheriff in town and he's the anti Dick the moron jauron. The Bills want a new QB

it'll be either through trade (Campbell) in the next few weeks or by draft (Clausen).

if Bulaga or Williams are there though at pick nine.....hmmmmmmmmm

    -RnJ

If Campbell gets dealt it will be before the end of the draft.

  20. Then why did they just sign those two free agent backs Mendenhall( & the others name escapes me) but they are both big bruiser type backs like Gerhart . You put his production together with Jacksons WOW !! Jackson 1st & 2nd downs & Toby on 3rd downs and goal line man what a tandem that would be  !!!

Camp bodies. Or replacements if they were to trade Lynch. Which would mean they could use a draft pick to get the change of pace back Gailey wants as opposed to another big back.

  21. We should trade Lynch and draft this kid in the 2nd or third round. Get Bulaga, Tebow, and then Gerhart and it would be an awesome draft IMO.

In the 2nd? No. In the 3rd? No. They need a different type of back even if they were to trade Lynch. Gerhart is good, but the Bills need more explosiveness like a Spiller, Best or McCluster.

Tebow? Not before the third round. Bulaga? Wouldn't mind him. But he's got warts too. Brandon Graham tore him a new one when they played.

  22. Though I think Gerhart is the white version of Jerome Bettis, I don't think he fits the system we are going to be running. If we didn't have Freddy I would be all for it, but we need a change of pace guy. A scat back if you will.

He reminds me more of Corey Dillon.
