Where’s the moderation?  This has gone off the rails and wayyyy off topic

It was off topic a long time ago and now the complainers are out to do their usual.  I don’t why folks don’t simply ignore them.

I figured we would see more, but I tend to think it’s going to be more action around the opening bell.  If they can get Wagner, Jones, etc to commit they will trade Edmunds, cut Beasley, and restructure as needed.

Where have you seen the Bills linked to Wagner outside some on this board constantly daydreaming?  I haven’t seen any legit speculation about Wagner.

Am I missing something? What does Engram bring that Knox does not?

I've been critical of Rambo in the past, but didn't he have a good season? I  feel like this money better is spent elsewhere.

He brings explosive athleticism and an ability to stretch the field.  Why only have one?  Bills need more explosiveness on offense and defense.

I'm assuming they sign somebody in addition to Hodgins/Stevenson and they draft someone. I will say, if they obtain a solid 2nd TE, maybe they forego the mid-tier vet. I'd expect them to have another WR3 type of guy besides Mckenzie regardless of what they do in the draft.

We’ll see in this next month.   It’s possible, but they have other needs than to spend on another mid-tier WR.  I’m sure we’ll see camp body type WRs.  Solid vets who fans love in pre-season who wind up released in August.

I'd suspect they sign a mid-tier veteran (Fuller) or young, promising guy (Braxton Berrios)

I don’t think we see another free agent WR.  McKenzie was that.  Too many excellent WRs in the draft to sign another mid-tier vet at the WR position.  Need a young, cheap option and draft is deep with them.  Also Stevenson is still there to be developed.

Good and smart signing. Observing they way Beane at all work, they sign whom they can to not have any massive holes come draft time so they are able to be flexible and truly take BPA. Good practice to not pigeon hole yourself into a bad reach!
glad he is back! But dam I would love some Jameson Williams! Lol

This doesn’t take that off the table at all.   Unless Beane focused on this signing to allow pick 25 to be used in a trade.

Hunter wants a new contract.  He’s not happy making the money he is.  Maybe the injuries have hurt his leverage, but I expect him to want 25M aav. Is he worth a 1st rd pick and 25M per?  I think he is….as long as he’s healthy. It’s a scary move that could ruin the teams chances @ rings for the next few years if he can’t stay healthy for the playoffs.

I wouldn’t take that chance.  Beane can restructure his contract to give him more money up front, maybe void a year off his deal so he’s only signed for 2 years, but a new deal?  Not with his injury issues.

You think they let him play it out huh?  I think so too.

If they see him as a “core building block” wouldn’t extending him now be a no brainer?  The longer they wait, the more expensive he’ll be.  If they truly believe, they would extend him now and create more cap room this year.  It’s a win win for the Bills if they really love the guy.  Locking up a core building block while creating 10M in cap space.  ella balinska angel GIF by Charlie's Angels

    We aren’t getting a 2nd rounder lol

Monday is just around the corner.   Beane will do something contractually with a player or two.  Could be Edmunds.  I would be on the board all day just to see the tears.

As much as I’m weary of McCaffrey’s injury history, I’d do this.

If we aren’t willing to pull a LA Rams and mortgage the future to win (I’m not saying I disagree with being more conservative) you’ve got to take some risks.

Buffalo has shown, knock on wood, that we can keep players healthy.   McCaffrey also won’t be a workhorse here.  Singletary is likely still the lead back and CMC comes in spell him, two back sets, and play in the slot.

He’ll get his touches, but they will be more in space and less grinding through big bodies.

Not for the money he makes.  That dude is starting.   He will move around to different positions but he’s not there to spell anybody.

Cole, a 3rd, and a 5th.  Hell yeah I say.  Motor and Christian, F Yeah!  McCafferty would solve our returner issues too.  He can motion outside, and really present matchup problems.

I doubt the Bills are trading for him, but if they do I also doubt a player with his injury history will be used to return kicks.  Getting him through offensive series is hard enough.

Wallace is projected to get more than $4 million AAV. Sidney Jones is an intriguing name for me. I remember a lot of draftniks being very high on him as a 1st round talent, but then he had a season ending injury at his pro day. He flashed for Seattle in the back half of last season. He gives us a lot more upside than Wallace and likely will be cheaper. That's a solid move IMO.

A lot more upside?  I don’t know about that.  He would be cheaper though - for a reason.

I’d rather they draft a CB or two if they let Wallace go.

Unfortunately for a lot of players these days, it's the only factor.  Don't know Chandler personally, so can't say if this is HIS mindset, but I think the vast majority of players know their time in the league is very limited, so grab every last dollar you can before the ride ends.

I wouldn’t call it unfortunate.  It’s our entertainment, but it is their profession.  If money is the determining factor, in an industry that leaves long lasting remnants of injury, it makes sense; especially if it’s a guy who won’t make up any discounts given with ad/pitch money off the field like a QB or transcendent talent would.

FA officially starts on Wednesday March 16th at 4:00 P.M. However teams can start talking to FA's on Monday March 14th during the "legal tampering" period. Probably will hear lots of rumors on Monday.

FA starts Monday.  Wednesday is just when the league will stamp it.  Monday we will hear player “x” is signing with...

Tampering started at the combine. I don’t know why the league insists on the charade of “legal” tampering.

When the Cardinals traded for DeAndre Hopkins I was livid. A few hours later we traded for Diggs. I hope the same thing happens this time around. Zero excuse for us not to add a top tier pass rusher when Mack could have been had for a 2nd.

They don’t have the cap space to take on Mack’s contract without throwing future years out of wack.  Chargers got him cheap because of the money they will have to pay.  Mack and Bosa?  Lord have mercy...

That actually sounds much longer that it should take, especially with the existing site conditions known. I can’t imagine they’re going to get into some long community input process.

The Pegula’s might just want to wait because that time frame would put the reveal close to training camp/regular season.  It would generate more excitement around the team heading into week 1.

You are probably right but still holding out hopes he's played his last down for this team and we move him now why he still has real value (maybe even a 1st rounder).

It honestly be a win/win for both sides especially if Edmunds lands with a defensive coach and scheme that provide a better fit for his skill set.

Let it go.  They like Edmunds.

let me know how you feel when the new ticket prices are announced along with $4-6K PSLs.

The Bills will still have among the cheapest tickets in the league.   Come to L.A. and see what it costs you to sit in the nosebleeds;  you would be able to go to 2-3 Bills games  and sit in the lower bowl.  Bills fans are spoiled to death.  Be grateful.

    pretty sad if true

If Beane makes a move it will be a legit move.  Not because of the stadium.  Bills are on the doorstep of a championship.  If there were ever a time a big swing at an impact position would make sense it is now.   I doubt what others would consider a big swing happens in FA though.  A trade in the other hand I can see as a possibility.
