  1. But it should have bearing because he is obviously a project QB, and if we threw him out there in year 1, he likely would lose all his confidence and suck like the last 6 QBs before him here. I am for drafting Skelton but need another starter except TE. If we had maybe TE, Skelton and someone like McNabb, it would be good, but without another QB, I just dont feel he will work here because he will be too rushed. Buffalo Fans are longing for a QB, and Skelton wil be rushed as soon as Trent faulters, which history shows us wont take long.
  2. You obviously need to learn how to read. I said IF TE is the QB, we cannot afford a project QB simply because TE sucks, and when he does we will throw him to the wolves. Put on your glasses and your thinking cap and try reading it again there champ.
  3. While I like Skelton and am all for us taking him if we dont get Bradford/Clausen/Tebow, Big Ben and Flacco were 1st round QBs, Skelton is not. I think he can be very good, but he should not start this year, and WHEN TE sucks again, which likely will be week 1, people will be calling for Skelton, then he will get ruined. Which is why we need a decent veteran QB on this team, or else a project QB wont work in Buffalo in 2010.
  4. The comparisons to Welker are questionable at best. Also we dont have Tom Brady to throw Tate the ball, and while Wes is good, Brady makes him that much better, which is why he was traded from Miami.
  5. I think you may have circumvented the language filter a little bit.
  6. I agree. Bring him in and give him a shot. But I dont think a 3rd rounder. I think a 5th would get it done honestly, and if thats the case why not? Risk <<<<<<<<<<Reward. And again he made some bad decisions, but again, we all have. The man lost EVERYTHING from it, and if that aint a wake up call, than nothing is. AND the man has shown nothing but respect for everybody since, Seems sincere when he speaks, and now has more fire and desire to succeed both financially and personally to prove his doubters wrong. Mike Vick committed some terrible crimes yes, and would I ever let him dog sit for me? Probably not, but you are not his judge and neither am I, so let the man have his right, a chance for redemption. Let the past stay what it is, the past, and see what he has left for our football team, not our family.
  7. I agree. While Donovan would be 3x better as a Bill than Vick, I believe w/ Gailey running the O Vick will be 3x better than TE or Fitzy. And Vick has way more than paid his dues for the dog fighting thing, so let it go and judge him as to what he will bring to the team as a player. Id be willing to bet hes more appreciative of any chance he has and more appreciative of every dollar he makes from this point in his career. If you dont want him then fine, but dont base it on something well into the past that the man has paid his dues for. Every man makes mistakes, you have I have everyone has, its how you move on from those mistakes that define you, and so far vick has done well. Forgive the man and move on.
  8. Agreed. Mcnabb would be a great addition to this team, no question. WE NEED A QB people. If he is available for our 2nd rd pick, there is 0 reason to not do it. YES hes older, but still very productive, and spent his whole career (almosy anyways) with average receivers. Get Bulaga in the 1st to provide some protection and we may be ok next year. D is starting to look good too.
  9. Excellent post! I will follow this for sure and i hope all that work wasnt for nothing and it proves somewhat accurate. Thanks for sharing!
  10. If we took any of those 3 at 9, i would take an ice pick and stick it in my eye. We dont need a RB unless we trade Marshawn, ILB is not a top priority now either, Morgan I do like but we NEED NT OT and QB way way more. to use #9 overall on anything else would be extremely stupid. If Bulaga, Okung and clausen ae gone, we better trade down. Trent Williams is not a top ten talent IMO either.
  11. id ather use picks 1-3 on the lines and rd 4 on Skelton. Skelton is the late round guy i want. he might even be ther in the 5th
  12. I agree he is a good backup for sure, starter not so much. Which would be great, except we need a starter and cant afford to use a roster spot on someone whom we know isnt the answer at QB. Trent, Brohm and a rookie would be better. Fitz should be the odd man out IMO.
  13. WOW. I never said he was the answer, or going to start, simply that since we have no WRs, he might be a decent FA pickup. His QBs in Oakland were terrible. All I meant was if he was cheap enough why not give him a shot? If it doesnt work, then cut him. Risk is definitely worth the reward if he was cheap enough.
  14. I know he is 31, But I think he could bring some help here at the WR position, and likely wouldnt break the bank. He is not the Javon Walker of 5 years ago, but wouldnt hurt this offense having him around. He had worse QBs in Oakland than we had in Buffalo. Thoughts?
  15. If we did this trade, we could then trade down and draft Williams or brian price, use the 2nd rounder we would acquire trading down and get maybe Brandon Spikes or a WR. Sign Joey porter, grab a RT in rd 3, QB in 4 and maybe, MAYBE we would be on track finally.
  16. Imagine if we sign Porter and trade Schobel to the saints for Jammal Brown. Then we could use #9 on a QB or even McClain. Rd 2 go a DT or RT, rd 3 take the other. Grab another OLB or WR in rd 4. Would be a good start to rebuilding this team IMO...
  17. No one questions Jarret Browns physical tools. He is good size, HUGE arm and can scramble with the best of them. If we get him in the 4th-5th, could be a steal, but he is a project. Would prefer Skelton over Brown though.
  18. http://www.altiusdirectory.com/Sports/nfl-salaries.php Bills rank in player salary in 2009: 16/32... They dont underspend or overspend, they just pay the wrong players. Enter Buddy Nix.
  19. I would not be disappointed with this draft at all. I like Perry Riley ILB from LSU in rd 6 over Myron Lewis though. Good draft though!
  20. This looks like a solid draft to me. our 4 biggest needs in the first 4 rounds.
  21. If Clausen goes #1 overall, the bills better be on the horn w/ the Lions trying to get #2 overall and grab Suh.
  22. Yeah I could see the Chargers going to LA too. And I agree this draft will be a good one. Imagine this scenario from another of my wonderful recent posts: With the 2nd overall pick being shopped, imagine we trade (maybe Lynch, Whitner and 2nd?) up with Detoit, grab Suh/McCoy, Bulaga or another tackle with our 2nd 1st rounder, QB in rd 3, ILB in rd 4, then best available. Maybe that LT rumor would come true to back up Jackson, Sign a WR, then....Who knows? Playoffs might be a real possibility... Probably just wishful thinking, and I know people may be against trading Lynch and/or Whitner, but they are both (arguably) currently the 2nd best players at their positions on this team, and are expendable. And if that could get us a LEGIT NT, would be worth every bit of that deal... I think we are a vastly improved team in this scenario. Let Trent, Brohm and the rook battle it out for starter (or even Whitehurst might be ok instead of the rook if Nix really likes him). Pipe Dreams but one can wish right?
