  1. That is a fair arguement. But a playmaker is a playmaker, and you cant have enough of those. The colts had Peyton, Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison and Dwight Freeney for a while. We can afford Lee and Anquan if we do it right, and draft right. BTW the youtube video in your signature has been removed by user. Just thought you should know
  2. How about Trent and a 3rd (they do need another QB) for Bolden...2nd and Lynch for Mcnabb...Bulaga in round 1...a big NT in rd 4.... Mcnabb Bolden > Trent, Lynch, 2nd and 3rd ALL DAY. Team is then an immediate contender w/ a few small pieces in FA. I know many people are against Mcnabb on this board as well, but he is well worth a 2nd and Lynch. Also Bolden and Evans by far would be the best WR corp he has ever had. give him some protection (Bulaga would help) and seriously, we are contenders again immediately. Jusy my 2 cents.
  3. Schobel has said himself he wouldnt mind going to OLB in a 3-4... http://www.fantasysp.com/player/nfl/Aaron_Schobel/777029 I think he could do it, and i think he wants to do it. The switch might actually keep him with the team
  4. First off, excellent post. Secondly, I too am curious as to who you think we should bring in? I am a firm believer in giving almost the kitchen sink to get McNabb here, my second choice would probably be Troy Smith though. He has looked decent at times and was the starter over Flacco in training camp until he got injured. I think he may be worth a 3rd or 4th round pick. I also think if we could get a good LT with our 1st pick, I believe Jake Delhomme would be another guy we could possibly get cheap to fill in for a year or 2. Draft maybe Lefevour or Tony Pike later in the draft to sit behind him for a year, and let Brohm and the rookie battle it out for #2 and eventual #1.
  5. I agree we need a LT, and need one bad. But do you think the drop off from Bulaga to say Ciron Black, whom we could likely get in rd 2, is a bigger drop off from Donovan to Trent? or Brohm? I dont. And I get the "no 1st for Donovan" thing, but Donovan would be the best QB weve had since Kelly. And I think you would be able to get better FA in here as well, showing people and players we want to win now.
  6. Crazy?? The guy was in the Pro Bowl this year....again. While a 2nd and 4th would be great, Im just sayin do what it takes. Get Chambers or Walter in here to go alongside Lee, and were good again. Immediately a contender in the weak as its been in a while AFC East. Why everyone thinks McNabb isnt worth anything I dont know. He is a legit perennial all pro QB, and has at least a few good years left. With a Rookie QB were right back to square one, and with any player we draft in rd 1 were still miles away from being truly good. Donovan will make an immedate impact at our biggest hole for the last decade. Donovan would be AWESOME for a 2nd and 4th, but still worth every penny of a 1st round pick.
  7. I also think that if the Bills were to do this, they should try trading down, maybe sending their 1st for someone's later first and their 2nd, then trade the 1st for Donovan, and draft a LT first in the 2nd, as there will still be Tackles there that will start and be an immediate improvement for this team. Draft a LB or DT in the 2nd as well, spend the 3rd on DT or LB and suddenly we may be a contender again....
  8. I know not many on this board will agree with me, but, I think a 1st round pick for an All-Pro QB with at least 3 good years left is a steal, especially the way the Bills draft. I know everybody (myself included) is hoping that the "New Regime" comes in and changes the poor drafting this team is known for, but looking back at our last few 1st round picks: Would you trade ___________ for Donovan Mcnabb right now? 2009- Aaron Maybin: YES 2009- Eric Wood: Yes 2008- Leodis: Yes 2007- Marshawn: Yes 2006- Donte: Yes 2005: none 2004: JP- YES 2004: Evans: Yes Obviously you have a chance of getting a very good player in the 1st round, but odds are strongly in favor that he wont be as good as Donovan. I would give almost whatever it takes to put him in a Bills uni for 2010 to 2013 or 2014. Get a guy in the 3rd or wait til next year and get a GOOD QB like Mallett or Locker, and let him sit for 2 years. Just my 2 cents on this subject.
  9. Agreed, BUT how about drafting Dez Bryant at #9 and signing a decent FA tackle instead? Donovan does good with young receivers...imagine him w/ Bryant Throw in a decent DC for this team and you would have a darn good team!
  10. Umm, have you not noticed that aside from Brohm (whom we got off of a practice squad and MIGHT be ok) or QBs are terrible. Do we need a better O line? obviously. But fact is, YOU DO NOT WIN IN THE NFL WITHOUT A GOOD QB. Period. You could have the best Oline in the league and Fitzpatrick will still overthrow everybody, and Trent will still checkdown. We need to address the QB situation this year. Clausen, Pike or LeFevour are the best QB prospects in this class.
  11. Kyle Orton is not the answer at QB. He is Trent v2. If Denver trades for him and lets him go after 1 year, w/ Brandon Marshall and their O line, there is no way he would work out here.
  12. Interesting article from Bleacher report. Has 11 mock draft results listed for each team. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/332625-...-pre-super-bowl No. 9 Buffalo Bills: Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame - ESPN.com's Mel Kiper Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame - cbssports.com's Rob Rang Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma - cbssports.com's Chad Reuter Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers - walterfootball.com Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers - walterfootball.com's Matt McGuire Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers - draftsite.com Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma - newnfldraft.com Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers - nfldraftdog.com Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa - draftcountdown.com Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa - nfldraftgeek.com While I understand we need an OT, I do not think round 1 is where you take one. Bottom line is we need someone to lead this team and throw the WR the football. You could have given Fitz or Trent 6 seconds every play and they would still be terrible.People can say all they want that LT is the most important position in football, but QB is IMO more important. Fact is you cannot win consistently in the NFL without a good one. That being said, the only QB worth taking at #9 is IMO Jimmy Clausen. If he isnt there, which he likely wont, McClain is the answer. If he is gone too, we need to trade up and get Clausen (not likely with Ralphie) or trade down and fill some holes w/ some decent picks. Find a way to trade down and get an additional 2nd rounder and address QB OT and DT with those picks (not necessarily in that order).
  13. Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Pees Wiki already has him listed as new DC!!
  14. I got a feeling Jimbo is gonna be the owner once Ralph is gone. He has been around alot lately...maybe learning the ropes from Ralphie a little bit? We will see in the near future.
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4805579 Schumer: Bills not eyeing relocation BUFFALO, N.Y. -- U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer has been reassured by Bills owner Ralph Wilson that he has no intention of entertaining offers to relocate the team to Los Angeles. In a statement released Thursday, the New York Democrat said Wilson told him by phone that he's had no contact with a real estate firm seeking to lure a team to L.A. Even if contacted, Wilson would have "absolutely no consideration of entertaining" any offers, Schumer said. This week, Majestic Realty Co. targeted as many as seven NFL franchises -- including the Bills -- as potential candidates to play in a new stadium some 25 miles east of Los Angeles. The Bills have secured their hold in western New York by signing a $78 million deal to play annual games in Toronto. Sorry LA!
  16. First off ive been coming to this site for years, just never posted...But Even if i hadnt, TBD is not the end all plethora of football knowledge champ...2nd, I highly doubt you just named all those "off the top of your head" more like "Wikipedia"...If you did then u fall into the 1% or less than can argue for or against the Nix hire.
  17. But all the "Fans" on this site who dont know anything at all about football post how Ralph is cheap, Nix sucks, yadda yadda yadda. Truth be told, 99% of the people on this board probably couldnt name the GM on 5 other teams, let alone a candidate they would have liked to come here. And dont start posting names, because we all know you just googled it. You just need something to whine about, like always, and wouldnt know a good GM ever. Nix has all the credentials and a VERY VERY good track record, But of course, Ralph is cheap, and the bills suck. Nix is great hire, one of the major problems w/ the bills as of late has bee the draft, nix is here for 1 year and has a pro bowler already. Maybin needs to move to OLB which he will next year, then we can say hes a bust. Wood and Levitre looked good for rookies as well. I joined this board not too long ago thinking most people on here would know a thing or 2 about football, which some do. But anyone who says the Nix hire wasd a bad one, is seriously just either A.) a total and complete moron, or B.) Just trying to illicit a response. While I hope its B, its become obvious to me its likely A. So to all the "Ralph is cheap" and "Nix sucks" people out there, truth be told you obviously dont know a thing about Football, and like I said earlier, couldnt name the GM on 5 teams and wouldnt know a quality candidate if it sat in your lap.
  18. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4772952 Says hes stepping down for health reasons...Hope everything is OK for him....
  19. I can see how lots of people think we should go Tackle with round 1 this year. But, we do not need a rnother rookie on this O-Line. We need a good, Veteran LT and we need to draft a RT in the later rounds to come in when Butler gets hurt again next season. There is way too many names to strat dropping right now (most of which will change order come the combine), But Rolando McClain in round 1 would look good in a Bills uni... but our draft should look something like this: 1. DT/ILB 2. DT/ILB (whichever we didnt grab in rd 1) 3. QB 4. DE/OT 5. DE/OT (whichever we didnt grab in rd 4) 6. WR 7. OLB Our 2 big FA pickups should be a decent LT and decent veteran QB to mentor a rookie for once...Switch to the 3-4 and lets hope we stay healthy and see what we got...I wouldnt be opposed to POSSIBLY trading Lynch for maybe a 2nd and grabbing a QB there, and grabbing a bruiser RB in the 3rd to compliment Freddy.
  20. I asked a simple question, and obviously other people were wondering the same thing. Starting a thread about a new player starting is obviously quite different than asking if someone like fitz is starting. Stupid was your comparison here. The only reason you even looked at the thread is because you were wondering too.
  21. +1. The guy wants to honor his friend. I hope he has his best game of the season, which I think he will.
  22. How can you say he has been bad? He has had NOTHING to work with, No QB, an O line with 4 guys who started this year on IR, and AVP calling the plays. Perry, If he wins tomorrow should be enshrined in Buffalo for FINALLY beating the Pats for us. To beat Tom Brady and Bill Belichek with all the above variables considered AT THE VERY LEAST should warrant him a very hard long look. Bring in a good GM then to bring in some football guys and give him a chance. At least hes made the Bills interesting again, cause if Jauron was here, we would'nt even be having conversations about the Bills beating the Pats tomorrow.
